Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Android Market Missing On Phone
Sep 14, 2010I have just recieved my X10 mini pro and noticed it has no Android Market place app. I thought that Market was available on UK phones. Can anyone help?

Oct 13, 2010I am a Singaporean and I fly to Dubai often for business. Couple of days back I picked up the Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro at the Dubai Duty Free only to realise after I come home that there is no Android Market application installed on the phone! This is absolutely ridicious, why would I buy an android phone if I cannot access the marketplace? Also if this is the case, it should be clearly highlighted and not sold in places like duty free where you have visitors/travellers and not always the residents of that particular country purchasing the mobiles.

Aug 24, 2010Thinking of getting the Xperia X10 but waiting for 2.1 to come out first and see the response from this crowd (sorry for using you guys as guinea pigs. but all this talk about lack of MT but what will I truly be missing without it other than certain games. As an addition to that are there games out there that use don't use multitouch? I'm not looking for my Android to be a gaming device, I have my PS3 and my computer for that but I would like to play SOME games on it.
But, the main gist of this all is is the lack of MT really a problem? I know in this day and age, MT is taken for granted but yeah, is the phone severely crippling without it? I hope to be an Xperia X10 adopter soon.
EDIT: The title should be "what will I be missing without MT?" Damn you English! ;_;

Oct 6, 2010I just got the X10 not long ago. Literally only a week ago to be honest. I could have sworn I saw the playnow service on there when I first booted it up. I performed an update like I was told by my provider (Rogers here in Canada) and it said there were no new updates. But when I looked just the other day the Playnow icon is missing from the Application folder. which describes others loosing the Icon as well. I've walked through it and I'm not finding it.The last post suggests going to http://m.sonyericsson.com/sam-resetplaynow through the mobile browser on the phone. What I get is a message from the sony ericsson site stating that the page has been moved or no longer exists.Is there a way to get this service back without unlocking my phone? I'll unlock it if I have to, but I really hope its not necessary.

Now when I go to the market there are a lot of apps missing (both free and purchased) such as 3G Watchdog, Meridian, Gem Miner. Anyone else experienced this, have made sure my location is the UK but still they are nowhere to be found even when searching for them (can find the free Gem Miner but not the full paid for version).

Nov 28, 2010I see in some videos the google search bar in 2.1 is suppsoed to to have the little microphone icon to activate voice search. I flashed 2.1 rodgers firmare onto my x10a and when the phone boots I can see the icon for a few seconds then it deisapears!! Anyone else with the same problem? Was it something taken out by rodgers in their version of firmware?

Nov 27, 2010when I tap the contacts icon on the bottom of the screen, my contacts are not there, only my own name. I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing.
