I used the default 'Notes' app in 1.6 to store lots of info (and my gf's xmas list!) and now in 2.1 it's empty.
I used the backup/restore and even ZIPped my SDCard separately in case of data loss but cannot work out how to retrieve my notes.

Seems strange that there is a note function there but it does not download to phone.
I am a Singaporean and I fly to Dubai often for business. Couple of days back I picked up the Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro at the Dubai Duty Free only to realise after I come home that there is no Android Market application installed on the phone! This is absolutely ridicious, why would I buy an android phone if I cannot access the marketplace? Also if this is the case, it should be clearly highlighted and not sold in places like duty free where you have visitors/travellers and not always the residents of that particular country purchasing the mobiles.

I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Android 2.1 2 days ago and I've pretty much gotten most things that used to work working again, but I have questions/problems regarding the new functionality, can anyone help me? Blue tooth: I am able to send photos via blue tooth, but I CANNOT send a song, ring tones, etc which I could do with my SE 850i I bought 5 years ago. Perhaps if there was some kind of file manager application where I could see the file, I could send from there. In my opinion, blue tooth was marginally improved, but still is NOT satisfactory. Someone please proove me wrong! GEO tagging Photos: This is a new feature with the upgrade and I was eager to try it. In the GEO tagging widget it says to enable GEO tagging from the camera menu. I spent a fair amount of time, but I CANNOT find a camera menu or anywhere to enable GEO tagging. Please help! User Guide Gone: When you use the User Guide widget it says the files have been removed. I looked on PC Companion and confirm, they were removed. I copied the files from PC companion back into the .emanual folder on my phone where the files used to live, but that did not help.Still unable to see user guide. Did anyone get this working again? SMS-ing unsaved number: This annoying problem still exits after upgrade. As far as I can tell, there is NO WAY to sms someone from the call log for numbers that have not previously been saved. I often want to sms a number in my call log that either called me or I typed in. The only way to do this is to save the number in my contacts first. Am I missing something here?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe xperia x10 has a battery which is not user replaceable, now the problem is I have a SE k790i for past 3 and half years and 2 months back the battery was malfunctioning i.e. not giving perfomance and also it had become fat due to which the back cover was not fitting to its place. I m interested in x10 mini but if same thing happens with x10 mini in which the battery is fixed into the body of the phone if it goes fat then either the phone has to break or the battery(which will lead to leak) in both cases the phone will be damaged . . . considering I live in India where temperetues are upto 45 degrees in summer is it a wise option to go for the mini ?

Anyone have any ideas how I can get this back into my app drawer? All my contacts are there, but no way to access them.
I received my new x10 mini phone a few days ago and am really impressed by it.
But...
After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.
And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine.
But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself.
This is very repeatable and it looks like there's something wrong in the software or so.

It has a problem that every few days or so the screen locks up and becomes unresponsive and the only way to reset it is to do a battery pull. My question basically is should I take it back to the shop, or is it likely to need to have android reinstalled or something?
It did this on the very first startup after unboxing, it froze up when choosing the language setting, so obviously it is unrelated to any other apps i have installed. At the time I didnt think it was too much of a problem but then as I say, it started doing it every few days.
I got a X10 Mini and have sync my old W595 with the website. I just can't sync the website with my X10 with Notes. They are all there in the website but I can't pull the Notes to my X10.

Facebook,gmail,gtalk,android market,youtube etc. dont work at all..Each of them gives an error that you dont have an active connection! All of the above does open via the normal browser on mini pro..but not through these builtin apps!
View 8 Replies View RelatedThinking of getting the Xperia X10 but waiting for 2.1 to come out first and see the response from this crowd (sorry for using you guys as guinea pigs. but all this talk about lack of MT but what will I truly be missing without it other than certain games. As an addition to that are there games out there that use don't use multitouch? I'm not looking for my Android to be a gaming device, I have my PS3 and my computer for that but I would like to play SOME games on it.
But, the main gist of this all is is the lack of MT really a problem? I know in this day and age, MT is taken for granted but yeah, is the phone severely crippling without it? I hope to be an Xperia X10 adopter soon.
EDIT: The title should be "what will I be missing without MT?" Damn you English! ;_;
