If you set an alarm and later kill the app for some reason alarm symbol that appears in the top right corner stays active but the alarm will not ring. Caught me out this morning as I thought alarm was set.

Are there any good alarm applications for the X10i?
Basically I use my phone as an alarm to get up for work. My old Nokia N96 I could set the alarm and then switch the phone off at night and the alarm would still go off on time. This does not seem to be the case with the X10i. It doesn't even go off when the phones in airplane mode which is poor. I just don't want to have to leave my phone on overnight in case it rings and i wake up.
Are there any good alarm apps that allows you to turn the phone off and the alarm would still ring at 6.30 for work?
Like most users, I usually get a "G" or "3G" icon in the top bar, depending on coverage. However occasionally I get a strange symbol which is either a "E" or a "�" (too small to determine which!) what this symbol is and what it means?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI notice in my mini pro that when I disabled my data traffic for more than two hours, and turn it on again, there's a problem. After turning on, the 3G won't go active. It stay offline. Once, I had to disable the traffic and turn it on again for the 3G to activate. But last time, I need to reboot my phone so that the 3G could be accessed.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave X10 - generally happy with it but have recently been on holiday and needed the phone for the alarm. Have tried setting the alarm for Mon - Fri, everyday or weekend but whatever I do the alarm does not go off. I have checked the basic things - time setting, alarm tune, alarm time setting, ticked the relevant box (have tried every day or mon- fri) and no matter what I do the alarm will not go off so thus is very unreliable. Is there a fix for this or is there an app that I can download that will provide me with a fully functioning alarm that works as and when I want it to. Has this happened to you at all? I am currently running 1.6 but from some of the horror stories I read I am to upgrade to a higher version - if in fact I can do it or trust myself to not lose patience when the whole thing goes pear shaped.

I have a cool sound set for message notification (something like "Message arrives"). However, in the setting, there are only Phone Ringtone(for incoming calls) and Notification Ringtone(for both message and alarm notification. Therefor, when I do something like plug-in my phone to PC, the message ringtone is played, which is quite annoying. My question is that is there any way to set the separate sounds for message and alarm notifications? (maybe an app)
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got an X2 with the latest firmware (R3AA035). One of the most annoying bugs is that the alarm clock does not work always. If an alarm clock does not work sometimes, it is utterly useless. I have now used it to wake up in the morning. But in about one of 5 mornings it fails. There is just no alarm/sound.
I also have the impression that the automatic download of e-mails does not work always (at least not always in the night). I have set it to connect to the e-mail server every 2 hours. But there is hardly any notification in the night. The messages often come in right after I used the telephone in the morning.
So I assume that there is a general "wake up" problem with the device. I also tried to correlate this problems to other known bugs, but the above problems also occur when the device is nearly fully loaded, i do not have any observable problems with the SD card and there is no known issue with the network.
How to solve this problem? Or alternatively a date for a software update?
I recently bought a sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro. When I set an alarm, the volume is quite high. I would like to lower this volume, however, I can't. There is no volume function in the alarm menu; I also tried to lower or switch off the other volumes, but the alarm volume remains the same...
Does anyone know how to change the alarm volume? It would make me wake up happy.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy alarm clock sometimes decides to snooze for an hour and 10 mins rather than 10 mins. I nearly missed work on Friday, what is going on!? I waited a long time for the X10 mini to come out and admit that I am a little dissappointed. I've had a SE W580i until recently and I am finding that there are a lot of basic things that my old phone could handle but my new one seems to struggle with.I have used my phone alarm as my only alarm clock for at least the last 5 years. I really struggle to get up in the morning and if I turn the alarm off, I'll fall straight back to sleep again, therefore I rely heavily on the phone's snooze function to wake me up eventually after going off a few times. I was initially dissappointed that you cannot personalise the snooze duration on the x10 mini, the 10 mins is usually ok for me but in certain situations I prefer to shorten it. Please consider including this in the next software update, Sony Ericsson!
But the pressing problem is the (massively) extended snooze. It happens every few days and seems to be quite random. The first few times I hit the snooze button, it works as normal. A picture of an alarm clock comes up showing the time, and a white segment of clock face is highlighted indicating how long the snooze is for (10 mins) and when it will next go off. Then, I stir due to some disturbance outside, notice that the sun is definitely brighter than it was when I was last awake, grab my phone in a panic and realise that I have been sleeping for 20 mins since the alarm last went off, and that I have less than 7 mins to get up, dressed, packed and on the bus or I will be late for work. Meanwhile my phone is cheerfully still displaying the clock face with the white segment showing that I have 40 mins left to snooze and all is well. I didn't even know it was possible for this phone to snooze for anything other than 10 mins. Unfortunately I am asleep whenever this has happened and I'm not sure how I've done it.
I have tried setting the alarm when awake and then pressing various buttons, tapping the screen in various places, even pressing and holding the snooze button or swiping it. Most of these actions do nothing and the only way to stop the alarm is to slide to turn off or press the snooze button. My theory as to what is happening is that the phone snoozes for the normal 10 mins, but then when it reaches the time to go off again, it fails to go off and then the snooze time is displayed as 50 minutes (until it reaches that time again for the next hour). I think the white segment does initially show the 10 mins, I've started checking when I hit the snooze button after it happened a few times, but I might be doing something different in my sleep somehow.
X10 Mini The alarm doesn't start at the set time after update to 2.1 It has failed 2 of 3 times. Anyone else had this? I'm sure I set it correct and it shows the alarm time under the clock as activated and also at the top info bar.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThese are the current problems I experience with my X8.The alarm clock sometimes disappears when set after going in standby. This is the most annoying issue as I use it as an alarm clock to wake up. Going back in and out to the menu of the alarm clock without changing any setting "fixes" the alarm clock. It appears again on the home screen then.There is a big security problem with the pattern security. Sometimes when waking up from standby by you see the correct pattern for a couple of seconds, so there is no way to protect your mobile from getting used.Sometimes the wifi just doesn't want to connect to a wifi network, turning the wifi on and off for several times seem to fix this after a long while.When starting to type, in a text field most of the times you have like 4 second timeout which is really annoying.Sometimes the phone hangs and only taking the battery out will get you back started.

Since yesterday my time does not synchronize after a reboot. I rebooted a couple of times and also tried a different Apps which query and sync my clock. But they all come up with the same problem "server timeout", "perhaps there are network problems" "network not available" and I'm sure i have wifi working at the time. I also tried different NTP servers, IP adresses instead of DNS names and i've checked my home router (problem occurs at work as well).
I am planning to buy a 32 gb micro sdhc card for my Xperia X10.However, I have found tons of confusing and conflicting information here on SE forums and all over the net.To my surprise, even Sony Ericsson itself giving conflicting information regarding this.On the product page of Xperia X10 (click this link and click on the specifications), it says that Xperia X10 supports microSD up to 16GB only.Whereas the official Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 White paper (on page no.5) says that it supports -microSD, up to 32 GB. (The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 White paper can be downloaded from this link).Now i urge someone, preferably an SE moderator or staff, to enlighten on this matter and answer how and why SE is giving contradictory and confusing statements regarding the sd card capability and compatibility for the same product?.

I was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.
