General :: Sony Xperia Active Android 2.3 - NTP Not Synchronizing

I recently bought my first smart phone (Sony Xperia Active Android 2.3)
Since yesterday my time does not synchronize after a reboot. I rebooted a couple of times and also tried a different Apps which query and sync my clock. But they all come up with the same problem "server timeout", "perhaps there are network problems" "network not available" and I'm sure i have wifi working at the time. I also tried different NTP servers, IP adresses instead of DNS names and i've checked my home router (problem occurs at work as well).

I've always had SE phones, and have just replaced my beloved C905 with a nice shiny new X10 mini pro BUT I am bitterly disappointed that I do not seem to be able to directly sync the phone's contacts and calendar directly with MS Outlook on my computer - a tool I find incredibly useful and invaluable! I may have to go back to the C905?

Does anybody know how to sync facebook pics with contacts, even though your contacts have nicknames? I have tried the facebook app "sony ericsson contacts" and it doesnt work. Tried to merge contacts manually on the phone but then my contacts shows their facebooknames and not their nicknames.

I notice in my mini pro that when I disabled my data traffic for more than two hours, and turn it on again, there's a problem. After turning on, the 3G won't go active. It stay offline. Once, I had to disable the traffic and turn it on again for the 3G to activate. But last time, I need to reboot my phone so that the 3G could be accessed.

If you set an alarm and later kill the app for some reason alarm symbol that appears in the top right corner stays active but the alarm will not ring. Caught me out this morning as I thought alarm was set.

I want to disable the lockscreen.
There are several apps that do this but they all have a side-effect:
When they run pressing the volume-buttons will turn on the screen and i dont want that.
I know that CM-Roms have this feature built in but they have terrible battery-life.
Im using a Xperia Active with Spartan ROM (based on stock rom).

I am looking for an offline synchronizing tool/app/client for android devices.It can be used to take backup of
1. Contacts
2.Messages
3.Photos & Videos
4.Calender.
It should be able to backup this data using one or more of these:
1.USB
2.WIFI
3.BLUETOOTH
4.HTTP
Also, I am looking for such a tool specifically for Linux machines.The reason for this is to avoid sending data to the cloud during backup for privacy reasons. Actually I am developing such a cross platform compatible offline synchronizing tool myself. But I want to know if this already exists.

For working needs a colleague is given the password for a gmail account and he settled this account on his android phone. Now I want to stop the possibility for him to accede and so I've changed the password via web. But I noticed on my android that gmail keeps synchronizing every mail, despite I've changed th pw! Obviously also my colleague is able to receive all emails yet.

I want to know if there any way of synchronizing contacts with google maps. Is there any chance of opening google maps and see all the houses of my friends? To many contacts I added their adresses so what I want is to open the GMaps and select a destination easier.

I recently bought an HTC wildfire and then rooted it via unrevoked. then I got cyanogen mod 7 and changed the rom to gingerbread from stock froyo. everything is working fine except my Google account doesn't sync with the phone. wats app and Facebook are working ok.

I like all the functionality Google has to offer with their contacts management. It's nice to know my contacts are backed up on-line so that I they're not lost if I manage to lose my phone. However, I do not want contacts loaded onto my phone that I do not communicate with by cellphone (only e-mail). There's simply no point to it. I do not use a local client e-mail application--only GMail. I'd rather keep my phone contacts list succinct. But I have yet to figure out a way to do this, except by keeping a separate GMail account specifically for managing my phone contacts (I keep only those with phone numbers, and synchronize with that one). I'd rather keep it all unified in one account (both contacts and calendar).

My application uses AudioTrack in streaming mode and AudioRecord simultaneously.My problem is that I start them at the same time, but I have no guarantee that they will actually start playback ecording in the same timestamp. The reason I need this kind of accuracy is because I use echo cancellation (subtracting audio played to speaker from the recording).My echo canceller doesn't require an exact delay, but the delay introduced between AudioTrack and AudioRecord moves in the range of 250ms (between different runs), and that's too much - each run is different because they start themselves asynchronously. The API doesn't provide me a way to make sure they start in the same time, so I thought about measuring this starting delay somehow and then using it in my calculation.Does anyone have an idea how to do that, utilizing their API or in any other way?

I have a new Moto Droid X. I also have an iPod touch that I used for music and whatnot, but I am selling it. I hate to say it, but iTunes + iPod = easy synchronization. I've never been a huge fan of Windows Media Player and I'm not overly impressed with its ability to sync up with the Droid. It gets the job done but it's more cumbersome. Does anybody know of anything better?

My xperia X10a has slowed down tremendously and giving lots of trouble for the last few months and I wish to re-install the android 2.3.
I had rooted the phone myself after reading threads here. I have also read here that the stock version isn't really that good so I was thinking of re-installing the sony version.
1. Would Sony allow re-installing android on a rooted phone?
2. If Yes, would I have to root the phone again after installation to remove the Sony crapware? (That would be a max pain as it took hrs the first time to figure out and I didn't make any notes)

I purchased Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, with OS Android 2.3.3. I tried connect to my Wi-Fi network, but no success.
My network is with a password, and i entered it correctly, i checked twice before typing the pass... The device showing that is trying access the network, but after some sec. the connection is failed. I tried reset the router, but it still failed... I dont have any other wifi connections in my range so i cant check for another wifi connection.

Ive noticed an opaque "syncing" icon appear in the top corner of my screen and ive managed to drag it down and notice it say "synchronizing contacts.I dont want this to happen. I havnt added any contacts. Im fine with my contacts the way they are. I unchecked the "background data" box under "accounts and sync" but i need it checked to use the market so i caved and let it do it.How do i get it to stop this? If it helps, ive only noticed it in the last couple days, and the only apps ive downloaded have been tweetdeck and angry birds. Could one of those be doing it?

Aria is my first Android phone , I set up my gmail account and want to avoid synchronizing the gmail contacts , The reason is that there are many contacts and it clutters the people search functions.For now I deleted my gmail contacts , did a resynch.need to know
1) Is it possible to control the sync with gmail for just emails and not calendar and contacts
2) if not any way to filter the list from the people's search.

I've downloaded some short videos and i want to add it on my phone so i can watch it, but how do i add it to my phone? I went to search and it says to look for the folder named "Videos" after you connect your phone to the computer , but i cant find that folder anywhere !!
And sometimes when i connect my phone to the computer , it shows up but when i try to view my folders it remains like that (added a picture of it)

Our phone ( Samsung Galaxy Duos ) had an app installed for hypnosis and it was a relaxation type spiel. After hearing it decided it was rubbish and uninstalled it. Thought it was gone until I got a call or text and it starts to play automatically, it goes for 20 minutes. Once you hit a button or drop notification screen down it stops until the next incoming call or text. I cant see it anywhere on any app lists or on the sd card on the phone etc.

I own a Sony Xperia ZL and running firmware C6503_10.4.1.B.0.101 (I hope this is the right one, I'am still a newbie about this), unrooted and bootloader locked. A few days ago, I got a bootloop on my device, and after searching the solutions they told me to flashing it. Then I just flashing it, and to be honest this is my first time flashing and I don't know any effect of this.
After successfully flashing, I lost all my internal data
But luckily , I don't know why but my device auto download all of my apps and also recover my contact automatically. I also got my WA messages because still have my back up on micro SD.
But not about the SMS, not even a single SMS appear. I already try Dr.Fone for Android software and use deep scan, but the software found nothing. How to recover my SMS.
