I'm new to this, but when I look in Market I sometimes can't find certain apps. Was just looking for Where (where.com) a good travel app and it's not in there. Also when I install Yelp, it installs but immediately closes when I try to launch.
Is this a canada thing or what? Is the firmware so old that these phones are useless?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a brand new, unlocked Samsung Galaxy about a week and a half ago. I had two immediate problems with the phone:
1. No Market
2. 3G didn't seem to be working
I fixed the lack of Market problem by upgrading to the H7 firmware. I was hoping this would also fix the 2nd problem, but it hasn't. I've also tried getting a new SIM card from AT&T, and this hasn't seemed to work either.
Obviously I may end up having to call Samsung USA at some point and request a fix, but not only might that mean I have to live without the phone for a long time, I have no idea if Samsung USA will even want to help me since I bought it 3rd-party unlocked and it isn't even officially in the states yet.
So if anyone has some ideas, that'd be appreciated. (And yes, the "Use only 2g networks" setting is unchecked)
Just downloaded snap photo pro which I bought prior to upgrading to H7 and couldn't access in market again until today.
I also searched for eBuddy which I couldn't see in the market before and now I can.
I'm in the UK using a German galaxy with the H8 firmware.
I just noticed while upgrading from the "pulled" 2.2 to the "official" 2.2 some of my purchased apps are no longer available from the market. Cannot be found at all. Someone said that Google has to approve every new ROM to get complete access to the market. I was just wondering if it is I who have the glitch or if anyone else has the same problems. I have heard from two other sources (in Sweden) who have the same issues.

Is anyone else having this problem?I searched the other topics, but most of them talked about how they can't see certain paid apps, but I can't see any.I am in Canada and bought my phone from UK (O2). I'm using wi-fi to access the market, which confuses me even more because the operator codes don't even come into play with this.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOne side effect I've noticed from the recent update: it seems like some apps are just gone from the Android Market. The one I know for sure is the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app. AppBrain still lists it (in fact, it shows that it got a price drop about 10 hours ago), but scanning the QR code, searching for it in the Android Market, even trying to install it from AppBrain all lead to the same thing: The item could not be found. I don't know if this is happening with other apps or not. I do know for sure that the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app was there before the update as I was trying to decide whether I was justified in spending the money to listen to the playoff games at work. But now it's just gone without a trace.Anyone else notice this or other apps missing?
View 27 Replies View RelatedBetween looking around here and on androidzoom, I found a couple of apps I want. Problem when I use myphone to access the market, it says that they aren't there. Specifically, I am looking for Launcherpro beta and Adobe Reader. If I find them in androidzoom and scan the barcode its not there either. Short of rooting my phone to install market enabler, is there anything else I can do ?? Or are these not appearing because they won't run on 1.6 ?

1. How to Boot into Recovery.
2. Fix Package permissions.
3. Apply any zip from SD and choose one particular zip.
4. Also, how to install non-market applications.
I dont know if its just me or if anyone else is having the problem. Apps such as weatherbug, barcode scanner, pkt auctions, and amazon just to name a few.I have even went back to the oringinal sprint ruu with not luck and then no luck with the OTA update. Can anyone try these apps and see if you have any luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't have many paid apps; I use the Hero-a-like Pure Grid Calendar Widget and a remote recorder app for Sky TV called Record It, and that's about it.
Since upgrading to 1.6, I can't seem to download Record It, it doesn't appear on the market. I thought at first this was the old "apps not appearing on market" issue, but as far as I can tell all the other usual suspects are appearing correctly.
What gives here, what am I missing? Is it related to the above issue, or has the app been pulled from the market (anyone use it who can confirm?) Or is there something else "special" about this app that means it doesn't appear when everything else seems to?
I have a Samsung i5700 (Galaxy Portal here in UK) on Three, Android 2.1 (not rooted).
Problem: I get the normal notification of an SMS in the status bar, but when I go to "Messaging" (the default SMS client - no Handcent or other installed), the SMS is not there.
I have deleted several large SMS threads in case this is a memory issue.
I just got my Samsung i7500 and the Android Market is missing from my phone. What do I do to get it? Android was the main reason I bought this phone.

Now that app won't show up in the market for me.I know I read something about apps not showing up if the ROM is not "signed" by Google, or something. But the zip from Fresh 2.1.2 ends with "_signed_release". So what do you do to get missing apps to show up?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have seen a lot of posts saying that people once they rooted they lost access to some of the apps they had with android 1.5.This is an HTC hero rom that was ported over to the eris that I am running right now. With this rom which is running 2.1 you will get access to the protected apps on the market (the apps that come up missing). Read the known bugs section though. Included is an app that circumvents the power down hang and I actully like using it more then shutting down the phone the convential way hope this helps. People running eris with 2.1 don't have access because it has not been officially released yet. View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife has just got rid of her faulty X10 and moved to the X10 mini pro.
She's very frustrated as apps are just not showing up in the market. She used Bloo all the time along with AG Newspapers UK and Flood-it (game), these were 3 of the most used apps she had but when she searches the market for them it says they are not there! I have managed to get hold of the latest Bloo beta apk and installed that and it works fine.
Any ideas why these apps do not show up? the mini pro is 320x240 so it's not a resolution problem (same res as my old G1), the apps show up on my Desire (same phone network etc) the phone was unbranded/unlocked from Expansys

Only "top free" and "Just in" are options on the top. No paid apps, but some show in the "Just in". I thought there we supposed to be no market problems with these roms?
They appeared now. Took about seven hours, but they appeared.
Today i have been having some fun today downloading and yes buying (!) apps from the mkt. well, i started getting a little instability - i couldn't get an IP from my wireless router --- i had d/l "wifi keep alive" and "wifi reconnect" and "wifi reassociation". so i went to the mkt intending to uninstall one by one until i restored my ability to DHCP to the router. selecting the "downloads" section of the mkt revealed only about two pages worth of apps. believe me - i have a LOT more apps than that! mostly all the apps that appear are purchased apps (one exception - gmail is there too) - but even then, not "all" of my purchased apps are there! in doing my due dilligence checking to see if anyone else had this problem and solved it, i found this thread and this thread - neither of which have anything to say to help me. ANY idea how to get my apps to show up in the mkt? the apps themselves ARE STILL ON MY hero, they just don't appear in the mkt)
