How do I put a shortcut to a word document that I downloaded on my launcher pro home screens? I don't wanna keep going into the files app to find it.

I did a search and when you type in .PDF the search doesn't find anything. I'm sure its because of it being a short word.
I have a .PDF I would like to put possibly on one of my home screens as a shortcut. I plugged my Cliq into my computer and put the document in the memory card, but can't navigate to it through the phone. The only way I can find this file is if I open up Beamreader.
How come the vibrant does not support landscape mode on the home screens? Sprint variation of the Galaxy S is able to do this. Froyo ?

Is there way to save my screens and then start from scratch? Or do I need to save it then remove all my widgets and start again that way? I want to be able to go back to it if I don't like what I come up with.

Well after downloading next Launcher I tried to set up my home screens with the same widgets I had on the stock launcher with no luck. It tells me there is a problem with the widgets tap to reload. When I tap they disappear.

I run it on my Droid Incredible and I wouldn't want to run any other ROM, but since I have the paid versions of both ADW and Launcher Pro I don't have any need for the free version of ADW that comes packed with CM7. I found a mod that replaces ADW with the default Gingerbread launcher, and I've found that I prefer the stock launcher over any of the replacements I've tried. It's fast, minimal, and it just works. My only problem is that launcher2 only has five home screens, and I want seven. A Google search brought me to a version of the stock launcher with seven home screens, and I was able to install it on the latest CM7 nightly, but whenever I pressed the phone icon I got an error message telling me that "this application is not installed on your phone". I tried the launcher on both OMGB and OMFGB with the same results. Is there a version of the stock Gingerbread launcher out there that I can use on CM7 that has seven home screens and a working phone shortcut?

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to open .docx file within android app programmatically ? if i try to open a .docx file in my app, it should not open using any external apps like kingsoft office, QuickOffice etc., i have already make use of some library files like aspose.words for android, OliveDocLibrary, Apache POI.
1. Aspose.word library is too heavy and heap space exception occurs when i tried to run the app.
2. using OliveDocLibrary, it displays something like watermark on the document file. that seems to be uncomfortable for viewing the document file.
3. Apache POI library is been used, i have placed all the required libraries in my project's libs folder but still POIFSFileSystem exception occuring.
So, are there any other libraries for doing this job ?
How do I open a word document on my droid? I know how to put them on the droid just how do I open them? Do I need a certain app?

I installed a different browser - dolphin - then assigned it to my browser shortcut. I didn't really care for it so I uninstalled it. However, I can't change the shortcut in LP to my original browser. When I bring up shortcuts, there's not a listing for it.

I would also like to insert data on this table from word or excel document. is it possible? if so please how can I do it? some code snippets would be of great help. I have four different activities which I would like them to interact with this single table. the first is the main activity and its purpose is just to launch the other three activities according to user choice. so it has no interaction with the DB. but the other three activities will read from the table whenever called. One of them states that the small-ldpi designation is given to QVGA (240x320) screens with a physical size of 2.6"-3.0". According to this DPI calculator, a 2.8" QVGA display equates to 143 dpi. However, further down the page the document explicitly states that all screens over 140 dpi are considered "medium" density.
So which is it, ldpi or mdpi? Is this a mistake? Does anyone know what the HTC Tattoo or similar device actually reports? I don't have access to any devices like this.
Also, with the recent publishing of this document, I'm glad to see we finally have an explicit statement of the exact DPI ranges of the three density categories. But why haven't we been given the same for the small, medium, and large screen size categories? I'd like to know the exact ranges for all these.
Does anyone know if there's a shortcut to delete a word at time when writing txts etc. I tried the tip for the g1 of pressing menu and delete but couldn't get it to work.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have had my Epic for 10 days now and have swapped it once for this problem. If I power off the phone to save battery life or change battery, when I power up again the app and contact shortcuts I had placed on the home/extended pages have disappeared (the widgets are still there). The apps and data are still there in the apps folder, but it is a pain having to pull my most commonly used ones back to the home pages each time I restart the phone. Sprint tech have remotely rebooted the phones and we have taken both phones back to factory settings several times but the problem always recurs. As I have now had 2 phones with the same problem I am presuming it is a software glitch. Sprint have been less than helpful to date, other than basic resets and changing the phone. Has anyone else had this issue?
