Samsung Moment :: Slow While Texting?

anyone else's phone recently get ridiculously slow while texting? it seems my phone's perfomance has gone to crap. my orientation from horizontal to vertical pauses, and I can't send text after text. it seems like my phone has to stop and think. it used to be really fast, but recently has gotten really bad.
I only have quick settings and ATK for apps, so I don't think it's an app causing problems. could it be the whole data exhange drops? Changing from 1X to EVDO and back and forth?

I am new at texting and would like to know if there is a program were you can text to all phones brom you pc rather than just to your own carrier. I have found sprint.com's texting program but will only allow you to text to sprint customers. What I am looking for is a site that allows texting to and provider.

I just had a quick question on the Samsung Moment. I'm using the default messaging app (I've also used handcent) it feels the same. I've noticed that while texting sometimes it may lag a bit. Has anybody noticed this? Is there anyway to fix this?

My Moment shuts off whenever it feels ike it I when im in the middle of a convo texting just about anything and my battery plays games Ive had the phone for a month and a half and I have hard rest it just about every week since then

I have the contacts set up in my starred groups already but can't figure out how to text the contacts in a specific group (e.g. Family, CoWorkers, Friends) from my stock messenger. I can do it using the handcent app and although I have the notification setting off on the stock messenger the message still makes its way to the stock messenger and handcent which I believe would take up twice as much memory on my phone causing it to lagg. if I am wrong in assuming this and what I can do to fix this whether it be the correct way in sending a message to a group or deleting the stock messaging app, etc...

I have several issues with Sprint. Dropped calls mainly, sometimes 4-6 times during one conversation.My main irritation right now is that if I'm in the text screen or any messaging screen for that matter and I get a call my phone screen goes black and I can't answer it. It won't even let me silence the ringer.I love all of the things that this phone does, the whole android deal is awesome but lately I am seriously missing my blackberry.Will rooting help ANY of these issues or is that a waste of time?I have already watched the tutorials and written down the steps, just such a noob I'm scared. I will try it if it will help any of these issues though.

I successfully rooted my phone with Speedrabbit 1.7 (in like 5 minutes) then I did Recovery (which took hours cause I couldn't get it to load) and now I have removed a few of the unwanted apps Sweet right? Well, not so sweet, everything is moving extremely slow and there is an even bigger lag than before! Now this was happening before I removed apps so I know I didn't mess anything up there. I thought maybe removing them would perhaps speed things up but it didn't. Am I missing something? I AM running GDE, should I delete that? Just wandering what to do next to see my Moment have that WOW factor that everyone seems to say comes with root...

I got a samsung fascinate last month and have been doing nothing but soaking up information since then.
Well, My mom has had a Moment for some time now. After looking at it today the first thing I noticed that its really slow and constantly force closes. She doesn't know anything about the phone other than its really slow lol.
It appears to of been rooted (I think my cousin rooted it for her) so I guess I need to know what steps I need to take to speed it up and to get it to stop force closing. LMK if I need to provide any more info,

Would this be a ROM issue? Maybe an issue with Launcher Pro Beta? When I hit my home screen button, it takes a few seconds for my shortcuts and widgets to load. I really like LPB but am not liking how long it's taking to load. I set it as my only launcher in my ROM that I made so I can't go into another launcher and see if it's slow, does anyone think that could be the culprit?

Can anyone use Google Voice on their Moment? When I get an incoming call, it takes so long for the call to come through that by the time I try to press 1 to accept the call, its going to voicemail.
I've tried it several times and its physically impossible to answer the phone, listen to who's calling, get the number pad to come up (after waiting for the screen to wake up) and press 1 before it sends the caller to voicemail.
I really like this phone, but its lag is wearing on me (and I'm running one of Joeykrim's speedy kernals). I hope it speeds up with the upgrade to 2.1. If not I might have to switch to a Blackberry (blasphemy!! ) until Sprint comes out with a faster Android phone.

Here I am with 2 HTC Hero phones, with only one on an active account. I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account.Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. Maybe we can work out a swap.Now for the additional 1 to 2 feet of snow that is forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow, on top of the 2.5 feet still on the ground.

Purchased my Samsung Captivate about 2 weeks ago. I was told that you can speak to text, I did the setting for text to speech. No were do they have a microphone to speak to text.

Recently on Sprint's Moment forum a member by the name Mkeng5 has been posting pretty vocal complaints about the Samsung Moment. Not only does he claim the Moment is defective, but he goes a step further and even cites Samsung's own Warranty Policy.

I currently own a Palm Pre and I'm ready to ditch it for an Android device. Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.

On my samsung galaxy s captivate, There is a little glitch I've ran into where notifications are with the wrong contact label and some times pushes my messages to that person. I'm wondering if this is a glitch that comes with adroid and can be fixed with the up coming froyo up date this month Or should I exchange with my vendor

I followed the directions for turning off 3g (to get better battery life) and now I cannot send text messages. I can receive but not send any messages. I have tried soft resetting, and putting things back to how they were before, but to no avail.

Yet another bug! While responding to a text I keep getting:
"The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close"
This comes up when I start to compose my text and also if I try to delete that message. Doesn't seem to happen on any other conversations that I have (only have 3 conversations)
I have Factory Reset my phone 3 TIMES already, my last reset about 12 hours ago so I don't have a lot of things running or loaded up.

I did a search in the captivate forums and couldn't find this one. I'm trying to set the tone for text notifications.If I go to Settings>Sound>Notification Ringtone it only gives me the pre-loaded sounds.If i go to the sound file in my phone and click "set as" it only gives me options for voice call ringtone, caller ringtone, and alarm tone.

Is there any way to tweak Swype so, for example, if I type a "7" and hit space, it will just leave a plain old "7" and not "720p"? It's kind of annoying to have to choose "7" from a drop down list when that's the only thing I typed.

I got my Captivate about a week ago and some far I am liking it a lot. However, I thought I was having some battery issues, as my phone is draining faster than my brother's iPhone.
Using one of the battery status widgets, I've noticed that my batter drops about 1 percent for every text that send and receive (send one text+receive one text = 1% drain) meaning that I'd only be able to send about 100 texts in a day on a full charge. Most days I don't reach that but there are some days which are pretty text heavy. Is this a normal rate at which the battery should be draining for doing something like that? I am using Juicedefender and Advanced Task Killer to monitor what is going on, and the only widget I have running is Fancy Widget.

Is this normal? That seems ridiculous. I have my screen on the lowest brightness, have all syncing off, have 3g, using a black background, GPS, Bluetooth off. Like wtf? Battery monitor says i have 290 hours remaining also. Im so confused

I have sprint, my phone is an Epic and i love it! however when sending even a simple text i select "new message" the "to" box comes up. i have to start typing in a name to get contacts with similar names to start coming up, which i then select. then i have to repeat for the next contact...i have had cheaper phones that have allowed me to select recipients from my contact list. i have a friend who has Verizon, but has the same andrion platform (i think its a fascinate) and when she clicks on the "to" box, she gets a drop down menu that includes the word "contacts", as well as "recent calls". she clicks on that and goes right down the list selecting recipients...this is standard on her phone, as she did not dwld an app to allow this...MY epic wont do this...can i change a setting or something.

When I compose a new txt message I type the name of the person im txt'ing and its supposed to auto-populate the name based on the first few letters I type. But it doesn't always. I have to go to contacts pick the person I want to txt and do it that way. What am I doing wrong.

I've already done the update but both pre and post update, my Moment intermittently won't respond when getting a call. The call comes in, I hear the ringtone but no matter what buttons I press, the phone won't respond. I have to wait until voicemail kicks in or the call has ended.
I called Sprint technical support and they're going to send a new (I hope it's new) phone. I hate to set up the phone for the third time. Is there a fix or should I just bite the bullet and get the new? phone? Has anyone had this problem?
What experiences have you had with replacement phones from Sprint?
Should I be worried about getting a lemon phone?
