I'm having trouble accessing the android market tonight I rebooted my phone and still having trouble I updated Pandora and other 2 apps this afternoon. I was wondering if it's just my phone or sprint or the market. So anyone can verify on their phone?

After upgrading my Moment to 2.1, I can no longer download apps from Android Market. I can select to download an app, it says starting download, then quickly indicates "download unsuccessful." Prior to my upgrade it was working fine. All my account info is as it was before and has properly synced etc.

Issue: Unable to access the Andriod market and other google applications pre installed in my phone.
Background:
1. I brought an new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro mobile phone.
2. I am a resident of India and I use the Airtel network.
3. I can connect my phone to the WiFi at home, and to the Mobile Office GPRS services provided by airtel.
4. I can browse internet when on GPRS or Wifi and I can also access facebook using the facebook for android apps.
5. I can acccess GMail via the email application and the web browser.
6. However, when I try accessing the Android market or the Gmail apps or GTalk - it asks me for a google login
Problem faced:
1. I give my google login, but I get a reply stating that the server is unreachable.
2. This therefore, prevents me from accessing the Android market
3. This also prevents me form effectively using the Google apps installed in the phone.
Steps Taken:
1. I have contacted Sony Xperia Technical support in India and the team was incapable and unable to effectively debug this issue.
just wanted to know if anyone used it to buy an app? and if so how did he got billed? i want to but drakaz updater but dont know if i'll get billed from my carrier.

I can access it through my PC fine but when I try to access it on my phone it takes me to alternative sprint site either "downloads" section or "sprint web". View 28 Replies View Relatedmy wife's BH2 is having connection problems. When using 3G/Edge/etc... she's unable to access anything that requires a connection. Facebook, her weather widgets, gmail, browser, etc...
I assumed a factory reset would work, but is there anything I can before resetting?Nevermind. Apparently I can get connection now. Facebook for Android is still giving me that connection prob.
My phone is not rooted yet. I just got it, first Android phone... taking my time.
Question 1:
I got the Open Home .apk, and while I like most features of Open Home, I don't like the icons it uses. I'd rather use the default Android icons. And I can't figure out how... there are no "default Android icon packs" out there. So I got clever. I opened my .apk with WinRar on a PC, found all the new icons I didn't like, and replaced them with the standard icons (which I cleverly extracted from the Android SDK).
However, I guess I wasn't so clever, because the new modified .apk won't install. I guess the creator of the .apk put in a protection of some sort to not let it install if it's been modified? Way over my head at this point...
Question 2:
If I root my phone, will I be able to access the root structure from PC over USB link? I was thinking, maybe the modified Open Home .apk won't install, but if I were able to get into the already installed default Open Home, and then replace the icons, maybe I'd have more success that way.
I can receive texts just fine but I can't send for some reason.Any ideas why this would have stopped working?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy particular problem is that the phone is answering with a voice command that tells you who is calling if the caller is in my contacts list. I tried to find it listed in the list for ringtones to no avail. I've also checked a couple of different options but the phone is set to the voice announcement by default. Please help. My phone is rooted (I think), but currently I am on a looong learning curve to be able to troubleshoot these things on my own.

I've tried rebooting the phone, unplugging/replugging the usb from the computer and phone, debugging mode on/off on the phone, and clearing all of the device entries from the Windows registry. The error in event viewer shows: Event id 11: The driver detected a controller error on DeviceHarddisk2DR27. Error I get is 'please insert a disk into removable drive (drive letter)'

I have been reading for 2 hours and I can't find a fix.
I even tried downloading an older version of swupgrade.
I have read through all the threads and tried the different suggestions but I am still unable to download apps. My husband and I switched phones so we did the factory reset and it hasn't worked since. Any ideas?

Sometimes when I'm accessing a news app, an exclamation point appears and I lose all connectivity. I usually have to restart the phone to regain connectivity. Is there any other way to regain web access other than restarting the phone?

I have no problem accessing my work email from any regular computer, but when I try to access it with my phone a message comes back saying the server is not available (ie. it won't let me in from my mobile phone). I don't know if this is a firewall security thing with Lotus Notes/Server administration or if my phone's browser can't handle it. Is there a certain android browser I should be using or is there an app that I can download that will allow me to access my webmail? When a mobile device tries to access a site, does the site know it's a mobile device? Is there any way around this?The way I access work email through the internet is by going to a specific web site and logging into the site. From there I can see my email. View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst post. I've looked up this topic so as to try to avoid posting a duplicate, however I can't seem to get the specific answer I'm looking for even still. Been trying to figure out how to do this all day now and have a headache, so please forgive my aggravation. All I am trying to do is store a picture for each contact on my contact list. I can only find pictures stored taken directly from my phone camera. I cannot find any pictures stored on my SD card. Now, before I am told I need to hook up my Moment to a computer with the USB cable, every time I do that all that happens is the phone charges and neither the computer nor the phone recognize each other. I tried saving pictures and e-mailing them to myself, where I then tried saving them to the phone and the only way I could do that was through the SD card. I do not even know how to physically remove or add the SD card as there does not seem to be any openings on the phone itself for it. My laptop runs Windows XP. My question is: How do I access the saved pictures on my SD card AND how do I get my computer to recognize my phone if I need to use it to do this?

But there has to be an update for google maps by now.We are at 3.1.2 i think.When i search for google maps in the market, i get everything but google maps.I was trying to get infinity web browser as well, and this never shows up for me. But it is in the market.Just as Google's website says that google maps is on the market, and they dont offer a download.So, is sprint/Samsung blocking stuff in the market? do we have our own special market or something? I'm not seeing to many apps that say "must have root access" either.

Then two minutes into it the screen goes blank and I get this message: Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care.
Well, after 2 calls to customers care I am still getting the same error. I have full internet access, data capability and even setup my gmail account as the email to use. I can send and receive email/sms/mms, calls, etc... Anyone else have something for me to try before returning the phone to Sprint? (it was purchased at BB).
I own the Moment, which I want to throw through Sprints windows, and randomly, with full bars, get Error 97 or Error 7 when attempting to send text using Handcent, I have called Sprint on this several times over the last month or 2, each times, they do whatever they do on their end, and it works for a while or it doesn't. I finally take it to the store today on advice from a tech saying there may be an antenna issue, the tech at the store says no issues and that handcent MIGHT be my issue. Anyone ELSE seeing these network errors with Handcent? I don't believe that's the issue and feel Sprint just doesn't want to deal with it.

I got to the Volume Down+Camera+End step and plugged in the USB and it said "USB device not recognized." Something like that. I tried for about an hour, restarting PC, toggling USB debugging, and turning off the phone. After that, I got fed up and deleted the update software from my desktop and told my mom to take me to Sprint next weekend.

Dropped calls mainly, sometimes 4-6 times during one conversation.My main irritation right now is that if I'm in the text screen or any messaging screen for that matter and I get a call my phone screen goes black and I can't answer it. It won't even let me silence the ringer.I love all of the things that this phone does, the whole android deal is awesome but lately I am seriously missing my blackberry.Will rooting help ANY of these issues or is that a waste of time?I have already watched the tutorials and written down the steps, just such a noob I'm scared. View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to a rooted 2.1 system and all worked well for about a week, including use of the Market. But now I can't download anything from the Market at this point. I've tried every solution I've seen on this and other forums, but nothing has solved the issue. I've tried rebooting through recovery, pulling out the battery, starting Google Talk (apparently that helps with other phones), checked the 'okay to download third-party apps/unknown sources' mark in settings, and cleared the cache out of every application. I've uninstalled every application I've downloaded in the last 3-4 days.
However, I can't find the Market app to clear the cache - would seem like if I cleared the cache from the Market app, that might do the trick. I remember seeing it as an manageable app in 1.5, but it's not showing in 2.1.
Is the Market app in 2.1 hidden somehow? I've used Root Explorer, ASTRO and the stock apps manager but none show the Market program as an application.
Also, are there other suggestions I haven't tried?
The reason it's an issue right now is because I removed the mms.apk program (moved it to the SD card, but it won't re-install -- tried ASTRO and Root Explorer) and was using Handsent SMS exclusively for texting. But Handsent had some problems so I uninstalled it and was about to re-install it but now I can't successfully download anything from the Market. So, I have no texting ability right now.
I can't seem to get anything to download. Any clues?

Specifically, I am looking for Launcherpro beta and Adobe Reader. If I find them in androidzoom and scan the barcode its not there either. Short of rooting my phone to install market enabler, is there anything else I can do ?? Or are these not appearing because they won't run on 1.6 ?
