well I am back to using a home replacement, this one does not seem to slow me down like pandahome did. my question is does anyone know how to get the notification option in the menu, it seems that in GDE you have to access it from the top bar wheras in other home apps you can get it via the menu option

After getting so used to this on my incredible, its kind of a pain to have to use rom manager or voodoo toggle app to boot directly to recovery

View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my Moment from 1.6 to 2.1. In general I am thrilled with the newest Android offering for my phone, but I notice that now when I open the "Contacts" menu, my options are only to call or email that contact. In 1.6 on that same screen I had the option to Message them as well, is that something that could be wired back up? I use Handcent for messaging if that makes any difference.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNot sure if anyone else was having this issue, but if you want to get the old automated robot voicemail greeting instead of a recorded greeting, go ahead and record your main greeting and then go back into your voicemail settings and delete the greeting. It will revert to an automated greeting. Also, to get it to say your number instead of your recorded name, go into personal option under the voicemail settings and delete your recorded name, and it'll revert to just saying your number in the automated voicemail greeting.This had been bugging me ever since I got the phone since I hated recording a greeting myself and for the life of me I could not find the option for an automated greeting. Anyways, hope that helped.

Does the samsung moment have an option to lock your phone and enter a password to get in? View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my old flip phone when i got a call or text message with ringer on i could just hit the volume rocker and it shuts it up when i don't wanna take the call or message. On the moment i don't have that option. I have to hit end button, then menu, and then slide the notification bar down to shut it up. This be kind of annoying, especially when I'm in a meeting and forget to silence my phone before hand. There's a lot of times when i can't answer my phone and would love to reach in my pocket and hit volume button once to shut it up. So i guess what I'm asking is if there is a setting for this that i'm missing, or a different button that does the same.

But just to point it out again the moment can be turned off or put on airplane mode even while its locked. This may be a bad thing if someone steals your phone and you want to use someones phone to either call or text it so that it will ring to find out who has it. All the thief has to do is put it on airplane mode or turn it off to deactivate ringers, sound, and gps.
Is there an app or option where I can use a passcode to unlock the phone rather than the pattern?And is there a way to track my phone through gps just in case it's lost or stolen?Any ideas or suggestions if a device someone rely relies on a lot is lost or stolen? My friend on his moment was able to add a message on the home screen saying "If found please contact "phone number" "email" and will be given a "$300" reward.
I am a big new b to everything you guys do on here. I am a very simple phone user, no rooting (I don't even know what that is, even after slightly glancing over the "All Things Root" forum). I had the guy at the Sprint store try to fix my Moment for me, and he did something to where my screen resembled this at the bottom. He just showed me what it could do and not really thinking about asking him how he did it, I went home knowing I would have a new phone in two days (because we couldn't get my problem fixed with just simple swipe & clean and updates). I went in to get my new phone today and put all my apps back on my phone and there wasn't any new apps or widgets other than the ones I had put on their originally. And of course the guy who was there to help me two days ago, wasn't there today and the guy who helped me today had NO idea what I was talking abut said it was probably an app he downloaded onto my phone. Anyways... how do you get that new screen? The guy had told me it was less glitch and I like how clean it looks, plus it would clear up a lot of the clutter I have, so I can add different clutter.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI forgot my HD Camcorder and so used my phone's camcorder. And that is when I noticed the quality is horrible compared to video shot under 1.5. Video shot under 1.5 is not blocky at all and is clear. Under 2.1 it is blocky and poor. Anyone else with this issue and is there a fix in case I need to use it again? I do have it set on HIGH quality in the menu.

View 20 Replies View RelatedI found this information over at XDA and thought I would post it for my fellow Moment users. This is going to tell you how to change your notification bar. Credit go to WebghostDK for posting this. Read it here and other info.
WARNING: This does not change the text color or clock color. If you use a black bar you will not be able to see the clock or date in the bar.
In order to change your status bar color along with the Background color, do this:
First we need the framework-res.apk from the phone
- adb remount
- adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk framework-res.apk
Take a backup of this file in case you failed and wants to go back.
Rename your local framework-res.apk to: framework-res.apk.zip
Open the Zip file and go here:
/res/drawable/
Locate these files and unzip them:
statusbar_background.png
status_bar_background.png
status_bar_close_on.9.png
status_bar_header_background.9.png
status_bar_item_background_normal.9.png
These are the files you want.
I sugest that you use Photoshop to do what you want with the colors, if you are using Photoshop, be carefull editing status_bar_close_on.0.png, it might look weird if you are doing it wrong.
After your done editing these pictures go here:
/res/drawable_land/
Locate and unzip:
statusbar_background.png
Do the same here as you done with the first pictures.
After you are done editing the png's, save them in your zip file.
Rename framework-res.apk.zip to framework-res.apk.
- adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Now restart your phone, and your Notification bar has been fixed.
I've been following this forum since I got my moment a couple months ago, and I wanted to thank all the posters for the help you've given. I just installed beautiful widgets and I have a nice clock now, but I'm wondering if there's any way to hide the notification bar. I saw in the thread where everyone posted their screens that many of them didn't have the notification bar.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi cant figure how to put assign custom notification ringtones on my samsung moment. i have the ringtones in a folder on the sd card and i was able to play them thru the music app and assign the one i wanted for the ringer but i cant get the one i want for sms to work. i have had my moment for less then 2 days (and charged it six times) and i tried searching but came up with nothing.
