Samsung Moment :: Double Contacts After Update
Jan 26, 2010I just updated my phone @ sprint but my contacts are all double, how do I fix this without deleteing each one by one? I remember reading there is an easy way to do it.

Jul 19, 2010I have contacts saved on my sim and I transferred them to my phone but now it shows two of every contact. I was able to fix this on the contacts page because there is an option on what to show but when I go from messaging/compose/contacts, it still shows two of each. Anyone know how to fix this?

Aug 11, 2010Facebook syncing to contacts was working great until tonight and it is driving me insane.I have two of the same facebook accounts synced.I'm sorry if this is confusing but basically, in Settings>>Accounts and sync: I have two facebook accounts synced but they are the same account.However, I do notice that the two icons are ever so slightly different.I am wondering if this is somehow syncing my facebook account through the app as well as through android.The reason why this is driving me nuts is because the accounts link to the contacts and for several contacts I have two facebook profiles synced, in addition to the phone contact, and gmail contact.This is really bugging the OCD-ness in me. Also when I search a contact to call or text for example, it might show one of their home numbers as "mobile" since it doesn't really know what type of number their facebook number(s) are.This problem started today when I shared my first picture through my phone onto facebook. I found it weird that it asked me to sign in again since I thought I had already done so through the app 'm sorry for such a long post, but I am wondering what I should do.Does this mean I should get rid of the facebook app?

Jan 16, 2010I went in on Friday morning to the Sprint store and got the update for my Moment. I must say it fixed my key complaints. When I got back to my office (where I never got GPS reading before) it showed me on Google maps right where I was -Yeah! The lag in keystroke to letters appearing appears to be almost entirely gone. And Battery Life is really improved - to a crazy point (in a good way). I pulled it off the charger this morning, checked some scores today and then pretty much spent all evening downloading apps / playing games, etc and I was shocked when I got done - Still had about 70% battery life. Good job Sprint. I would have liked to have had this w/o going into the store, but it only took about 15 minutes and I have store close by, so no biggie.

Dec 12, 2009In Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

The feature i like best is that it links with facebook and pulls over the photo and the birthday. Is there one like that which can be put on the Moment?

Feb 22, 2010I bought my fionce a samsung moment. She loved it, touch screen keyboard. Well i've taken her to the first step of up to date phones and this darn thing is frustrating! I'm pretty smart when it comes to phones and computers...but wow. It was overwhelming just for me, so imagine how she feels!
We just got her the phone yesterday and got it working, but I had to do a factory restore with sprint to get google going. The guy was really cool and helpful.
So this morning I got a text after she took the girls to school and she was heading to work that all her contacts we're gone. I've read on other posts to put all other contacts checked and it should be fine. So hopefully it works. Is there a way to save contacts to the mirco SD card at all? I'm just trying to look for better solutions. I see a lot of the same problems on here that I'm having. I don't know where to start. I've dabbed around with linux (mainly ubuntu) but that was 4 years ago and my linux memory has fried. Rooting her phone my be dangerous for me to do.
Samsung Moment :: Moving Contacts To My Car

I am trying to move the contacts from my Samsung Moment, and according to the mfg., because of the Android OS, here is what is said: "on the android phone, go to the address book, under option or export - export them to the phone SD card (or import to phone) and then the car can pull them with no drama - the car wants stuff off the internal phone card, not the android address book...I just did this today So, I'm a complete techno noob, can someone tell me how to do this on my Samsung Moment.

I just switched from a B-Berry and I had notes, or business names, tags or whatever with certain business contacts and I could find them by searching for that word, but this phone will not. Example a person who I could not remember his name, but he was a roofer, I could search for roof and find him.. also, the B-Berry would also pull up both peoples 1st and last names if they were the same eg a search for martin would pull up a person whose 1st name is Martin as well as anyone whose last name is Martin. I really liked this function, it was the same on an old Palm PDA that I had too...

May 21, 2010Everyone I see who has the Motorola Droid has there Contacts linked to Facebook by default it seems. On the my Moment it doesn't do this. I figured it was because I was running 1.5 and the droid had 2.0.
I've updated to 2.1 and still Facebook doesn't sync at all for the Moment. Does the Moment not do this for some reason? Only Verizon network? Kinda confusing that the Facebook app doesn't do the same thing. I have tried going to Accounts and Sync and tried adding Facebook as new account but nothing happens. Once you click on Facebook it kicks you back to the previous screen.
I also installed SyncMyPix but not really what I wanted and Synced a lot of them incorrectly.
Anyone know a way to sync this?

May 15, 2010Why is the 2.1 update for the Moment so complex. I have a droid and convinced my mother to get the moment a few months ago when she was do for an upgrade. She was over last night and I went to update her phone for her. Verizon updates are easy. You put an update.zip file on your sd card, reboot into recover, apply update.zip, reboot and your done. No computer needed since with Astro you can copy paste the update.zip file to the proper location if you download it via your phone. Not so with the moment. You have to download a .exe file and leave the device connected to your computer? there is a multi page guide to read? what? And no over the air update at all? With verizon you only had to do the update manually if you were too impatient to wait for your hand set to get the update OTA. This is another example of why sprint is doing so poorly. This is terrible customer service. My computer has all of its usb ports broken, but i have my phone rooted and flash new roms all the time and the lack of usb ports is no problem but i couldn't even update my mothers phone to a long awaited update because of this.
