Hello my update went flawless, now I thought my wife had her contacts synced with a gmail account. I guess she didnt.. Is there any way I can retrieve her contacts?

Last night I performed a successful update to CL14 at home. Unfortunately AutoLock no longer works. When I have it turned on, it acts like it doesn't exist.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a strange issue with WiFi on my Samsung Moment (post CL14 update). I don't remember having this issue prior to the update but I can't say for sure that it was something that started immediately after receiving the update. Whenever I turn on WiFi, it says "Scanning" for about 5 seconds, then an "Unable to Scan for Networks" window pops up. Sometimes it scans just once, other times it scans 2 or 3 times, but eventually it automatically turns off the wireless. At first, I thought the problem was caused by a WiFi toggle widget, so I tried factory resetting the phone to remove all of my downloaded apps, but I had no luck.

Now this problem. the phone will not stay asleep after timeout or end button . I have to restart the phone when it does this to make it work normal for a a short while... then usually every day... just a few hours after a restart, it does it again.
So its very consistent, very annoying. Does it with apps or no apps, nothing running or everything running, with service, or with out service.... doesn't matter.
As you can see in the vid, extremely occasionally "shaking" the phone will make it stop. but as im typing this now, its back on again. most of the time shaking doesn't do anything. Next time i may try chunking it at my fireplace
I am currently running CL14 stock with Open Home and I wanted to let you security conscious folks know about a security issue I discovered. I hit the end button and pulled up my phones lock screen. Decided to test the new emergency dialer and when I pulled that up Open Home had force closed. When I hit end it returned me to the main screen w/o me entering my combination. I assume this could happen with any force closed app so although it's a rare issue that something FCs in the background it is possible and is a security issue. Just a heads up.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got CL14 on the 19th after having my moment for a couple months they fixed the battery gauge! However, I got a new issue with CL14. I work at a job that is in a bomb proof area. I have always left my phone on in the area even though I usually get no service, sometimes one bar.
The reason I leave the phone on is because sometimes I am in there for 2 minutes, sometimes for 3 hours between breaks so with the long boot times it sucks turning on and off and and off (especially if I am only in there a minute). I also cant switch it off while I am in there since I would get in trouble for taking it out of my pocket.
Eveything had been fine until CL14, now when I go into that room with little service after about 1-2 hours the phone battery it totally dead. The phone is very hot to the touch as well. at first i though it was the screen was somehow on, but I have been checking it every few minutes and its not. Basically my hunch is something changed in the CPU usage when the phone is searching for service with the CL14 update that causes the battery to run out of juice (for real this time) very very fast. Any setting I can change? Most regular cells go into a "power save" mode when there is no service, the moment does not.
Cliff notes:
Cl05, battery gauge, but no problem for months at my work with no service.
CL14 installed now battery is being completely drained from full to shut down in 1-2 hours, in low/no service areas, phone getting very hot.
I just updated my Moment at the Sprint store to 2.1...is there any way to retrieve my old phone contacts from 1.5 or do I have to re write all of them again.

But the problem was that because I came from a iPhone 3G I had all my contacts on there of which I cant retrieve. apart from GMAIL cause I cant sync it because I don't have my iPhone just the backup folder, neither icloud because I never had it at the time.

View 17 Replies View RelatedI went in on Friday morning to the Sprint store and got the update for my Moment. I must say it fixed my key complaints. When I got back to my office (where I never got GPS reading before) it showed me on Google maps right where I was -Yeah! The lag in keystroke to letters appearing appears to be almost entirely gone. And Battery Life is really improved - to a crazy point (in a good way). I pulled it off the charger this morning, checked some scores today and then pretty much spent all evening downloading apps / playing games, etc and I was shocked when I got done - Still had about 70% battery life. Good job Sprint. I would have liked to have had this w/o going into the store, but it only took about 15 minutes and I have store close by, so no biggie.

View 19 Replies View RelatedIn Gmail I have my contacts sorted by groups, easy enough, on occasion I need to add a new group or move a contact from one group to another, which is easy enough using a pc and my Gmail account. However, I cannot seem to add new groups or edit existing groups on my Moment. I can see the groups, I can sort by groups, but I cannot find an option that will allow me to add or edit any groups. Does anyone know how this is done on the Moment? I suppose I could use the browser to log on to my Gmail account and change it from there but isnt that sort of redundant since I am on my Gmail account using the Moment? Also, maybe someone knows when Moment contacts sync with my Gmail why dont the contact photos sync? One more thing, anyone ever on a call and it goes dead and after a few seconds the phone rings with unknown in the caller ID. When answer it is some from my address book that should have appeared in my caller ID Anyway, now I have to quickly hang up on this person to call the person my phone hung up on to receive this call. Its like the call waiting gets disengaged and hangs up the present call to allow the new incoming. I also had this problem on a HTC Hero I had before I got the Moment also.

The feature i like best is that it links with facebook and pulls over the photo and the birthday. Is there one like that which can be put on the Moment?

I'm pretty smart when it comes to phones and computers...but wow. It was overwhelming just for me, so imagine how she feels!
We just got her the phone yesterday and got it working, but I had to do a factory restore with sprint to get google going. The guy was really cool and helpful.
So this morning I got a text after she took the girls to school and she was heading to work that all her contacts we're gone. I've read on other posts to put all other contacts checked and it should be fine. So hopefully it works. Is there a way to save contacts to the mirco SD card at all? I'm just trying to look for better solutions. I see a lot of the same problems on here that I'm having. I don't know where to start. I've dabbed around with linux (mainly ubuntu) but that was 4 years ago and my linux memory has fried. Rooting her phone my be dangerous for me to do.
I need help. I am trying to move the contacts from my Samsung Moment, and according to the mfg., because of the Android OS, here is what is said: "on the android phone, go to the address book, under option or export - export them to the phone SD card (or import to phone) and then the car can pull them with no drama - the car wants stuff off the internal phone card, not the android address book...I just did this today So, I'm a complete techno noob, can someone tell me how to do this on my Samsung Moment.

I just switched from a B-Berry and I had notes, or business names, tags or whatever with certain business contacts and I could find them by searching for that word, but this phone will not. Example a person who I could not remember his name, but he was a roofer, I could search for roof and find him.. also, the B-Berry would also pull up both peoples 1st and last names if they were the same eg a search for martin would pull up a person whose 1st name is Martin as well as anyone whose last name is Martin. I really liked this function, it was the same on an old Palm PDA that I had too...
