I have a customer with a new Samsung Moment and when trying to setup his email to connect to the Exchange server I get an Error Your Exchange server may be using too earlier Activesync Version (-5). This customer had a Windows Mobile phone before he got this and never had any issues. I don't see what else I need to do? Had anyone get this to work?

I have several Android users that have an interesting issue when they use ActiveSynch with Exchange 2003 SP2.
Everything is fine until they get to the part where they are synching Contacts. For some reason, Contacts for these users are being generated during ActiveSynch and once they reach over 50k, the server crawls to a halt. If I disable ActiveSynch for those users, server is fine.
I haven't seen this issue with my Blackberry or iPhone users.
Anybody have a good way to remove the PIN requirement every time I turn unlock my phone? I have full access to exchange and our server, so I'm looking for any help to remove this annoying extra step.I'm currently not interested in TouchDown.

It is hit or miss whether it worked for lots of folks.I couldn't get it working for the life of me, so took the easy way out and un-checked "use ssl 128 bit" on the exchange server, and it started working... However, this creates a huge security issue, leaving your exchange outlook web access unencrypted. I accepted this fact for a couple weeks, as I needed the email support really bad for a project I was working on. Now that I'm done with that project, I returned to this issue, definitely wanting to plug the security hole I so reluctantly opened up. Telling myself i will NOT drop a $20 for touchdown exchange client, after being told that my incredible has "exchange support".After about 6 hours of scrubbing through microsoft kb's I discovered the answer.Exchange ActiveSync and Outlook Mobile Access errors occur when SSL or forms-based authentication is required for Exchange Server 2003 (ms kb 817379)Use Resolution method #2. Which creates a virtual directory (with no ssl access) that is only accessible by the same server computer. You still set up the inc email client the same, including checkmarking the "this server requires a ssl connection" What happens is your inc can now authenticate by SSL to the exchange web access, and it then redirects access locally on the server to the newly created virtual directory.
in a nutshell, it just ends up working!Caveat, you either need to be the exchange server admin to do the tasks in the method #2, or know the exchange server admin at your company (and bring him nice techie toys) I've only tested this on our exchange 2003 standard server. I have no idea what to do with a 2007 server I understand the exchange 2010 server also has no official support either, but is currently being worked on.I just thought i'd throw this out there for those who still may be having this issue.If it helps even one other company besides ours, it was worth the effort!
We have a client running Exchange 2003 SP2, and a few users would like to sync their Android phones - a Motorola Droid and an LG Ally, both running Android 2.1. Both phones give us the following error when configure a sync account:
This Exchange ActiveSync server requires security features your phone does not support.
I've made sure that Exchange ActiveSync is working, I've tried allowing unsupported devices in Exchange System Manager, adding the users to the device security exclusion list, but I'm not coming up with anything that will allow the Android devices to sync.
I have flashed to KaosFroyo 2.2 v35.1. Everything is fine and the best thing of all is the amazing Power Control widget with all the customization of the widget. But!: I have Exchange 2003 Outlook recurring events created in Outlook. If I use the phone's calendar to delete today's event only from a weekly-recurring event ("Delete this event only"), it doesn't sync with Outlook. In other words, after a sync and check Outlook, I still see the event I deleted using the phone calendar. The other way around, it works fine (if I delete an event in Outlook, it updates on my phone to where I don't see it). Any tips/ideas?

Everything's working great except I can't get GAL Lookup (Global Address List) to work. Mail's downloading just fine, Calendar sync's great and Contact sync's good.. but that critical moment when you want to shoot off an urgent note to an office colleague & can't remember his email handle... bummer! Stuck!
Strangely, in NexusOne when I had to rely on Touchdown by Nitrodesk, the Address Lookup worked just fine...
HTC bug perhaps? Of all the issues, I think this is Desire's biggest.
We've just upgrade our Exchange server and the server name has changed. How do I modify the server name instead of removing the whole account and start from scratch again? The phone is a Samsung SPH-M900.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have searched all over. Moxier seems to work great for those that can get it to work. I am trying to get it to work with my personal email account on roadrunner. Regardless of what servers/settings I use, it still says to provide detailed server information.Anyone have any luck setting this up? I don't want to pay for an exchange program as the entire reason I went from a Centro to Moment was to be able to push emails and contacts back to Outlook. Can anyone help? I don't want to trade this back under the 30 day program as I don't know if the Pre will work or not. I don't know of any other phones that have the features this one does.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAfter reading the forums and changing settings and doing a few battery cycles, I had been getting really good battery life of at least two days on medium usage and 3 days on light with my connection not having any real issues. Then, 2 days ago I installed weatherbug and beautiful widgets. While I enjoy both, it seems like my network connection goes down fairly often now and I need to turn on wifi to check email or do anything else web related. Has anyone else lost their network connection and been able to narrow down the cause? I'm hoping it's not one of these two, but I can't imagine what else it would be.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOkay this is starting to irk me, i've been trying to teather using PDA net through my stock USB cable, i plug in the cable the phone and computer reconize eachother i mount the cable through the notification bar, start PDA net, everything works great, i start watching a show on fox.com and get 15-20 minutes in when i get the usb device being disconnected tone, look over at the phone and it says preparing SD card as if i had unmounted it, if i try to unplug the usb and plug it back in it charges but i never get the notification to mount the cable again. I have to power off the phone and power back on to fix this. WTH is going on here, i know a lot of people were having issues getting the usb connection going but that appears to be fixed by removing and reseating the sd card, which i have done many times. I will have a perfect connection with the laptop and phone sitting still on a table when i randomly lose the connection and have to reset the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMoment keeps losing evdo. Then the browser will timeout on all web pages. Email will not send or receive. Sometimes when this happens, I cannot text, or make a call. When it happens you can only see the up arrow on the left. Sprint store swapped it out for another Moment, and it did it in their parking lot. A few times after this happens I have to do a hard reset to get my email working again. Typing is slowing down on here as well.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI keep having this problem with my Moment where it will refuse to do data connections. Sometimes rebooting helps, sometimes it doesn't. It happened three times today, and I was ready to throw my phone out the car window. It's happened on and off since I got the phone 2 months ago. I hoped it would go away after I updated to 2.1, but no dice. My wife, who doesn't use the phone as heavily, doesn't have these problems. Some days (like today) it seems worse than others. I see scattered forum posts about "evdo lockup" and "cdma lockup", but no real idea of how to diagnose what the problem is, and more importantly, whether it's worth taking it back to Sprint and trying to get them to do somethin.
View 19 Replies View Relatedanyone else having this problem? using 2.1 under caulkin's kernel. it seems like I can kind of overload the phone doing too much and the mobile network connection on my phone will disappear completely. this is while downloading something that may download too fast, sometimes it happens loading .GIF images too. I'll have to restart the phone to get the internet back. this happens no matter if I'm using wireless, USB or bluetooth tethering.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.1 dd03. I've had a few issues, the worst being-
- Occasional complete data connection loss with no 3g/1x icon (never with 1.5)
- Google voice search works from the soft keyboard but prompts "server problem" from the widget.
- Tower based location puts me 20 miles away from home in the same place all the time (cj05 days are here again).
- Phone turns on by itself when charging and occupationally unlocks and stays on (never in 1.5)
- Phone seems to heat up more and burn battery more rapidly (vs 1.5) when in low or no signal area.
Here's the new one I had this morning. I received a call, but when attempting to answer dropped/lost the call. I went to the call log and re called the number, connecting with the other parties voicemail. After leaving a message, I hung up with the red hard button. After a short time I tried to call again, but the phone wouldn't connect (stayed on dialing). I pressed the red button to cancel the call and then pressed again to turn off the phone. The screen would not turn off. I could navigate the home screen and pull down notifications, so it wasn't locked up, but I couldn't turn off the screen. The red button would quit apps, so its press was registering, but a long press didn't bring up the power off menu. I had to pull the battery to power down. This is a long way from a release OS version. Fix soon.

Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. It just states 'Obtaining address.

I would love to try out the Samsung Moment, but don't have the $$ to just go out and buy one.My hero comes with all it had when new, plus I have an extra battery for it I will add to the deal. This hero has only been used for about a week, and while using it, it "lived" in my Blackberry Tour holster to give it maximum protection. There are no scratches or rub marks on it, never been dropped and I have reset it to Factory Specs via the SECURITY MENU and the ESN is clear and ready to be activated on your SPRINT account.Please email me at sy@rayzel.com if you are interested. View 11 Replies View RelatedEvery time I sync my new HTC Desire to my Outlook 2003 using HTCSync V 3.0.5422, I come up with over 300 reminders on the PC which date back to almost a year ago. I've tried dismissing them in Outlook - they go away - until next time I sync.
I tried downloading the latest version of HTCSync, but that caused the whole sync process to hang - had to uninstall it and load the version that came on the phone.
Has anyone been able to install HTC Sync on Windows Server 2003? That's what I use on my desktop at work...
Currently, when I run the installer, it fails with error 1722. If I look at the logs, it says that it fails because it's not windows xp.
Recently on Sprint's Moment forum a member by the name Mkeng5 has been posting pretty vocal complaints about the Samsung Moment. Not only does he claim the Moment is defective, but he goes a step further and even cites Samsung's own Warranty Policy.

Don't get me wrong, webOS is clean and has a lot of potential, but for now...lacking would be a good (albeit understated) word to describe it. I want to jump the Pre ship for the Samsung Moment, but one thing I keep reading about the Moment is bothering me - everyone says it doesn't have multi-touch. However, I recently read that multi-touch is something Android doesn't yet support. This knowledge was previously unbeknownst to me since I haven't used an Android device since the G1 first launched. Since the Moment uses a standard Android build, the OS wouldn't allow multi-touch even if the phone were capable of it. So my question is: Does anyone know whether or not the Moment is capable of multi-touch? If it's simple a shortcoming of Android, I can deal with it since I know Android 2.0 should finally support it.
View 40 Replies View RelatedMy issue is with Google Sync and Office 2003. It works perfectly for 99.9% of what I expect it to do. I add an event on my work PC and -WHAMMO- it appears on my gCal and on my Eris in moments (If I do a force sync, otherwise it takes 1hr). The issue is, when I receive an invite to a meeting. Such that there is an "Accept / Decline / Tentative" option that we who use MS Office are probably familiar with. If I accept that meeting it will appear on my work computer, but will not sync in any way, shape or form w/ gCal, or my phone. I have to enter all these by hand on my work computer and THEN then they will show up. The reason I ask is: a) I'd like to not have to enter the meetings I'm INVITED to manually.....
