Apr 30, 2013We upgraded our android phones (LG Thrill and Inspire) to a different phone. The person in radio shack advised us to backup the contacts list to the SD card which we did. We got our new phones and when we came home we were not able to open the SD card on the computer (vista). Every time I plug the SD card via card reader the computer wants to format the card first, I followed the format instructions once and it error-ed out.
How can I open the contents of the SD card with a computer without using a cell phone? I just need the contacts list from it.All searches in google and youtube leads to using a cell phone which we don't have, or using some third party software which didn't work.
Samsung Moment :: Wont Mount To Computer
Oct 25, 2010I was fine last week.I got a update this weekend and now it will charge but it wont register that the usb is even there. I found and tried this but it did not work.
When I connect my phone to my computer via USB, it doesn't come up as an external drive, it just charges it.

To mount your phone as a drive on your computer you need to open the notification that appears in the notification bar on your phone and select the mount option.
If you don't get the notification, then disconnect the USB cable go to Settings -> Applications -> Development and uncheck the USB debugging option. Exit settings and connect the cable again.

Jan 31, 2010How to connect my phone via USB cable to my computer. I know you turn off USB debugging option under development. I connect the USB cable that came with my phone to USB on my computer and then to my phone. At the top of my phone it comes up with the notification to mount my card touch on that and them my phone comes up saying to turn off mass storage. Using Windows XP and in explorer can see the SD card showing as a drive in my list however when I click on it it shows nothing.
I can see the notice of the usb drive in the listings showing that I can turn it off, which I do before I disconnect the phone from my computer. Then I try to connect the USB again to my phone and all it does is show its charging the phone now, usually the only way to resolve is either to restart my computer or restart my phone and the problem starts all over again. I am tired of taking the card out of my phone manually to connect it to my computer to move or copy files or anything to my card which is an 8GB sandisk micro sd card.

Apr 14, 2010Now my phone won't turn on. The bar started going and then that error came up and it said to either debug, send error report or don't send. When I try to turn it on, it just shows a Samsung logo with a phone and a computer under it and a dotted line connecting between. In the middle of the line is an exclamation point! I just tried to download it again on a different computer and the same system error occurred! Why is this happening? I can't turn my phone on now but can enter download mode.

Jan 16, 2010I went in on Friday morning to the Sprint store and got the update for my Moment. I must say it fixed my key complaints. When I got back to my office (where I never got GPS reading before) it showed me on Google maps right where I was -Yeah! The lag in keystroke to letters appearing appears to be almost entirely gone. And Battery Life is really improved - to a crazy point (in a good way). I pulled it off the charger this morning, checked some scores today and then pretty much spent all evening downloading apps / playing games, etc and I was shocked when I got done - Still had about 70% battery life. Good job Sprint. I would have liked to have had this w/o going into the store, but it only took about 15 minutes and I have store close by, so no biggie.

May 15, 2010Why is the 2.1 update for the Moment so complex. I have a droid and convinced my mother to get the moment a few months ago when she was do for an upgrade. She was over last night and I went to update her phone for her. Verizon updates are easy. You put an update.zip file on your sd card, reboot into recover, apply update.zip, reboot and your done. No computer needed since with Astro you can copy paste the update.zip file to the proper location if you download it via your phone. Not so with the moment. You have to download a .exe file and leave the device connected to your computer? there is a multi page guide to read? what? And no over the air update at all? With verizon you only had to do the update manually if you were too impatient to wait for your hand set to get the update OTA. This is another example of why sprint is doing so poorly. This is terrible customer service. My computer has all of its usb ports broken, but i have my phone rooted and flash new roms all the time and the lack of usb ports is no problem but i couldn't even update my mothers phone to a long awaited update because of this.
