I know there is an app called 'delete contacts' which can delete all contacts, but it seems this only works for the contacts in the phone memory, and not the sim card contacts.How can I delete all contacts from the sim card?

Bought Captivate- AT&T copied my SIM card to a new one and contacts are wrong. How do I delete them from my SIM card several or all at once? (I know how from my Blackjack II just not from the Captivate). The contacts in the phonebook are wrong to. How do I delete all contacts from the internal phonebook? Factory Data Reset? (I read this brings it to the state where it was turned on for the first time is this true?)

View 4 Replies View Relatedgot my BRAND NEW Galaxy S3 yesterday and so far I'm loving it. I'm having the "duplicate contacts" Android problem like a lot of others. I just couldn't seem to get it fixed no matter how much merging, joining, splitting, importing, exporting, manually deleting, etc., so I finally just deleted all my contacts. I deleted ALL OF THEM from the phone. I deleted ALL OF THEM from my gmail account. When I look at the Contacts list in my phone now, they are GONE. No more effing DUPLICATES, right? Wrong. Let's say I want to send a text to someone. I open "messaging" and start typing a name, and lo and behold, a list begins to populate with a bunch of %$#@! duplicate names. WTF do I have to do??? THIS IS A NIGHTMARE that has lost me literally DAYS worth of time trying to figure out. I have sync OFF.

I have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
In Google Contacts I've entered birthdays and subscribed to the "Contacts' birthdays and events" calendar in Google Calendar.They show up as intended in Google Calendar but in my phones calendar they're all listed twice. Unsubscribing from the contacts birthdays calendar makes both disappear, so they're not from some other calendar.Is this a bug in the Galaxy S calendar? Any solutions?

Does this mean you can add 16GB card to get a total of 32GB, or that you can add 32GB for a total of 48GB? The way it's been worded on all the sites I get the impression that the max SD card you can put in is 16GB but that seems silly. Can anyone confirm? My S4 auto delete my images, videos, music and documents once in a while like twice a month?
Basically, all files from "My Files" folder are deleted. My apps, contacts and sms-es are all unaffected. I don't have any SD card attached.
After that incidence, I decided to factory data reset my S4 as I suspected the software might be corrupted or infected by virus or something. The same thing happened again after 2weeks or so.
I went to send a text message today, and all of my conversations had been cleared. This has happened once before about a year ago and I eventually gave up trying to restore my messages. How to prevent it? I'm thinking the message database is somehow getting corrupted which is why it's clearing out all of my conversations?
I'm running 2.3.3 - my phone was rooted at some point but I'm guessing after an OS update I lost that capability. This happened before the OS update and now after.
I bought Samsung Galaxy ACE GT-S5830i. But in phone there is still previous owners messages, phonebook, mail synced to smartphone. And now i need to delete it's Samsung account to factory reset it.

I had my contacts connected to my gmail, then decided to see if I could put them on the sim and still use a picture for them (protip, you can't :P) then I decided to go back to [g] contacts and thus would need to just delete the ones on the sim else I'd have multiple ones.
So off I trot, hold down for the context menu, hit delete and then BAM "Failed" er...what? I'm not allowed to delete my own contacts if they're on the sim card?!
