View 5 RepliesVery pleased so far. Still need to learn Android. I was wondering is the youtube video quality poor on the EVO or Android in general? I'm so used to my old 3GS that was jail broken, the quality was excellent.
But now they all look so choppy on the EVO.
Today at Sprint store I played the same YouTube video on the Hero and the Pre side by side. The Pre looked great, the Hero had a very low frame rate and poor resolution. I hope someone can tell me something was wrong with the Hero and it is not always like this.I am seriously considering buying a Hero and have been spending a lot of time at my local Sprint story getting to know it. Today I was trying out flash video on many sites and they all looked bad like I described above. I just assumed the videos had a poor source until I tried a YouTube video on the Pre. It is hard to believe all the reviews I have been seeing of the Hero wouldn't have hammered it for this if it were a common problem.

I am also a video freak I like to take a lot of video of my dogs on post it on Facebook. After a while I return to the video I uploaded it and the quality of the videos was CRAP!! I have no clue what I did wrong or what option I didn't choose. I went into the menu to see if I have checked on the UPLOAD HD VIDEO option like on iphone. There is no option to choose.....
Does this issue happen to all android device or just SS note3
Just a question to all SE X10i users, do you also have poor video recording/output quality with your product?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know the screen can show some really great images and videos. I want to know what format the videos should be in to get the best quality. I moved a few hours of family guy from itunes to the phone, its in mp4 atm I am sure. And I just had a standard did to video converter off the internet.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAfter using both the EVO and SGS for weeks, I find the SGS inferior to the EVO in very few ways. The most major one that it being a 3G phone, the Internet speed is of course slower than the EVO's (I have 4G in my area, Los Angeles). I enjoy watch Youtube and SprintTV on the EVO as both the resolution and streaming experience very good, however after watch the low res Youtube on the SGS a few times, I can't make myself watch it under 3G anymore (wifi is better but still not as good as EVO on 4G). But since we can consistently get over 1 meg on 3G, why can't the SGS do better in Youtube video playback? Is there any program that can trick the phone in thinking it is on wifi and playback in higher resolution?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom our android app I launch Youtube app with the proper video id. This works well across all devices. On Nexus One the youtube app defaults to using low quality video. I have added &fmt=18 in the url (for eg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsjadfLYnD4&feature=youtube_gdata&fmt=18 , see this blog for details http://blog.jimmyr.com/High_Quality_on_Youtube_11_2008.php) which should have forced a high quality video but doesn't.Anyone know a work around for this ? The screen resolution on nexus is really beautiful it saddens me that I can't make use of this to play hq videos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI never watch YouTube videos in anything other than high quality. But the only way I can see to change the quality is via the menu on a per-video basis. It defaults to the lesser quality, which is REALLY crappy!
Is there some way to change the default to play videos in the best quality?
And also, what's to gain by playing them in the lesser quality? Bandwidth? Battery conservation? Load time? For a phone with such a magnificant display size & resolution, I can't imagine why anyone would want to view videos in anything but the best quality possible.
Anyone else find the play back have awful quality? especially for a higher end phone like this one. My playback has the lowest quality I have seen in a phone in a long time. Pre had much clearer resolution. Is there a player in the market that helps with higher resolution?
View 12 Replies View RelatedJust got the phone and loving it so far but im having major issue's with You Tube, Most video's take about 5 mins to load in low quality and in high quality it can take upto 30 mins or more which of course by that time the phone locks and the video has to restart again.
Any suggestions as to why it takes so long? Also is there a setting for video's to automatically start in high quality? And for the phone not to lock?
Is there a better video player application which is free in the android market? The thing i dont like about the stock video player is that it doesnt sort my movies and videos. For example, i made folders for my series and my movies. after it scans for media, it shows ALL my videos in bulk... not grouped by types. I used the gallery application and the Gallery app does a better job...but is there a free application that sorts out movies as as good as itunes for the iphone?btw, this is not a major issue and it is less than a minor inconvenience Im still very much happy with my phone
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use to own a palm pre before I switched to HTC EVO. I think the evo is a great phone but the two things I missed so much about my palm pre is the camera and the sound qualities.
The EVO is said to use 8MP for its camera but honestly the camera quality is nothing compare to the palm pre. Simply put, the camera and the sound output on the evo sucks.
You can clearly notice the difference between the pictures I took using the pre and the evo. The pre gives far better picture quality and also better sound output. I always enjoy plays my sounds or using pandora on my pre, but with the evo the different is the case. The sound quality with the evo is horrible even when plugged to good speakers.
I bearly take picture with the evo because I am used to good picture quality with my pre.
I have had the evo for less than two weeks and i am seriously thinking of returning it because of these two issues.
I really want to know, is this poor picture and poor sound qualities a thing with the evo in general or is it just with the particular evo that I got.
Does anyone else get poor quality out of their voice recordings? Audio on calls and on recorded video are perfect but voice memos have static.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm getting dropped calls left and right on this damn phone.Everything else about it is perfect but what's a phone when you can barely use it to talk? Does anyone think this would be an easy fix or the EVO is the way to go?
View 13 Replies View RelatedOne question arised on my mind when reading reviews of Galaxy S - is there any video player capable of playing HD content (720p) and showing subtitles - either from srt file or directly from MKV?
There are players with subtitles support but I am afraid that to play HD content 1Ghz processor is not enough and that Galaxy's internal player is also taking advance of GPU which others players do not.
My Tablet "Lenovo Yoga 10" screen 1280x800
I watch a lot of Manga/Animi and they are low quality/resolution and look very blocky when playing at fullscreen, I have tried MX Player Pro and Dice Player.
Is there any Video Players that smooth the image or upscale or enhance the video during playback.
Mines takes 20 to 30 seconds for vids to play... then it freezes thruout the video.... im running 3g with 5 bars so reception shouldn't be a issue...Haven't seen any threads in it..
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on 4.2.2 with Nova Launcher and just recently after disabling apps, etc. my Video player app no longer opens. I press it and it freezes for 15 seconds and says unfortunately it has stopped working. On top of that every time I delete a contact, it deletes the contact but gives me a message like "android.process.acore" had stopped working and exits the contacts app.
I've tried enabling any potential function that I may have disabled to have that issue and no luck. I also cleared cache and data of the contacts list and contacts storage but no luck. I honestly do not want to format data as I have already done it 3 times prior to this issue and it is tedious. EDIT: Fixed video player by enabling picasa uploader and cloud Agent. Still no luck with the error message after deleting contact.
I have code that will bring up a Youtube video on their webpage and the user has to then tap the play option to play it:
CODE:..............
This works fine but what I would really like is to have the video come up in the player on the phone immediately without the user ending up on the webpage and having to tap the play option.
I (like hundreds of others) have had a call quality problem with the two Droid Incredibles I purchased for my wife and myself when they were released on April 30th. Verizon recognized that there was a problem and replaced both devices with ones manufactured about a month later (5/02) and the same issue with poor voice quality continued.
We love the device EXCEPT for the lack of ability to understand callers. So, I asked Verizon to extend our 30-day opt out to give them an opportunity to work out the issues with this device. I just received a call from Verizon customer service (which I could barely understand) and was told they would not extend the 30 day period and my option was to live with the poor sound quality or switch to another device. Verizon has no other devices that were interested in at this time so well be canceling these two lines (and one other) and returning to T-Mobile. T-Mobile may not have the best coverage, but they do have great customer service, unlike Verizon.
Is there a why to get the YouTube app to always be in high quality?
View 18 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening recently: ill be watching videos in high quality, then all of a sudden ill click to watch another video and go through the menu to set it to high quality and only get home page and settings (high quality is supposed to be the third option).
I have connection, etc but the option just decides not to show up and the only way I got it back the last few times its done it is by turning the phone off/on. Anybody else run into this or am I missing something?
So I find this really odd I was watching a YouTube video and using my Bluetooth headphones and the video was playing just fine - well then I switched it HQ and it only plays in the left ear then I switch it back off HQ and it played in both ears again.
This is the video try it out and see if its just my phone or Bluetooth
Galaxy Nexus using Android
I have no issues with GPS with my stock 1.5 ROM. The signal is picked up within a few seconds, even in my basement. Once I updated to Galaxo 1.6.3.2, the gps performance is extremely bad. Most of the time, my phone is only picking up 2 satellites, not enough for a lock. If I am lucky enough to get a lock, it doesn't last very long. I have managed to pick up 7 satellites once, but the reception on each was extremely poor, not enough for a fix. I tried flashing back to stock, which again, had very good GPS performance.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what underlying issue is causing the poor GPS performance? I understand that JC6 ROM (and Galaxo is built around it I believe) is from Russia. Does android have a cache of nearby satellites (similar to how QuickGPS works with windows mobile phones), and could it be that these satellite location are optimized for Russia? If not, is it an inherent problem with Android 1.6? As I use my gps quite often, hopefully someone can provide some insight, or I might just be driving an infinite loop of circles in the near future...
