So I was in the middle of typing a text message and wasn't able to finish it. When I closed out I got a message saying, "sent to drafts" Now for the life of me I can't seem to locate where that saved draft went on my samsung fascinate? Any ideas on where this mystery draft is at? Thus far the phone has been very, very intuitive except for this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just noticed a few things on the SF that have made me wonder if I'm missing something or if it can be changed.
First scenario.. I'm reading a text. I hit the "back" button, and it throws me to the homescreen sometimes. Then I hit the messaging button again, it brings me back to that specific text convo. I hit the back button again, and it now goes back to my inbox. Why? Is there something I'm doing that sometimes kicks me back to the homescreen instead of inbox?
Second scenario.. I'm sending a text to 2+ people. When it sends it, it essentially makes up a new contact of those people to send it to. What it should do, I think, is update each individual person's text log with that text. I find it really annoying to send a text to 10 people, and then when I get a text back from one of them, the text I sent them doesn't appear in the history. Any way to change that?
Thirdly.. I'm sure I'm just missing this, but is there any way to "mark read all" emails? I get a lot of junk emails, and so far I've had to just click through each one. Kind of cumbersome.
And this last one doesn't pertain to either email/messaging, but it's something that has caught my eye. Sometimes when I get a call, it goes to that whole "puzzle" idea and makes me fit the "Answer" puzzle in the blank spot. Other times, it just has an "Answer" button to click. It doesn't really bug me, but why does it do one sometimes instead of the other?
I'm sure I'm missing something stupid. I've turned off notifications in the stock Messaging app (I'm pretty sure). And those look different (they have the green text bubble as the icon). Can anyone clue me in as to what that 2nd notification is below the blue Handcent icon? And can I get rid of it? I'd like to keep the text messages private is why I ask - I have Handcent and the stock Messages under App Protector. And I have Handcent's option checked to not show messages in the bar, just the notification.

Perhaps even in folders such as "drafts". My old cheap Nokia could do this. When I now get an incoming message I can only delete it or leave it in the "inbox".

I've seen a lot of videos of the Captivate and Vibrant and when they show the Messaging app it shows the bubble (kind of IPhone look) and I was wondering if you can change the look to the regular android look?

why I need to enter the area code when I text people with the Epic? I had a lg phone before hand and I did not have to do that at all.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am going crazy! Every time I try to text my wife's phone from my contacts, it removes the area code and errors out when trying to send. I have edited the contact info and sure enough it has the correct 10 digit number. I have tried deleting the her contact info and recreating it. No dice. I again deleted her contact info, went to her phone and sent a text to mine and replied. The incoming message has the correct 10 digit number. Replying again stripped the area code and tried to use the 7 digit number. Of course this failed.Any ideas? I need some help here. I am not sure if this is an issue with the phone or with AT&T.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my phone set to display only numbers on the SIM (or only on the phone.. doesn't really matter) so that in the contacts app and the contacts section of the phone app I don't have duplicates of everything. However, even when this is working correctly, in the contacts section of the text messaging app, it still shows two of everything.

I can send pictures just fine, but when I receive them, the picture doesn't pop up in the text conversation like normal, it leaves a link to "download" the image. I click download and an error message pops up stating that the process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly and shuts down.

Thing is, I'm using Viber to text friends overseas. I was wondering if there are any apps or any way to integrate all text messaging to the default android SMS messenger so I can use BrowserTexting? I know Viber text messages use the data plan, but it would be awesome if I could also use BrowserTexting to text through my Viber app. Or at least is there a way for me to also use my PC to text through Viber?
With Text Messages (SMS) -
Is there a way to either:
a) set the native text appl so that there is no content preview in the notification bar, or
b) with Handcent still have the special puzzle piece show up on your lock screen when you have a new text message?
I really liked how that puzzle piece showed up but now it is gone and I suspect it is ever since I installed Handcent and I don't know how to get it back.
Follow up question -- if I go back to the native text app, is there a way to increase the font size of incoming and outgoing messages? I don't want to have to put my reading glasses on everytime I get a text.
I'm coming from the droid which showed when a text/MMS was sent successfully but i don't see this on the Fascinate. I can't find this option.

I receive automated text messages from an email address, but the number it comes from changes every message. In Froyo 2.2.1 there were an option called "Delete old messages", but in Gingerbread this options is not present and I just can set numbers from 10 to 1000 of messages per thread/conversation.
I need to remove this limit without installing a CustomROM (currently I've the stock one), is it possibile?
(I'm using Motorola Atrix 4G with Gingerbread 2.3.6 and I've got 2Gb of free space for system's apps and SMS, so I'm not worried about space occupied for text messages)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI accidentally hit the speaker on the keyboard while in text mode a few times and I just assumed it was for searching BING. Last night I hit it and decided to try to search with it.... but instead what I said got typed into the text that was open!!!! I was blown away! So then I started texting my Bro-In-Law via voice and although it's not perfect, it is very neat! I wish I could read to it and train it better on my Pittsburgh-ees, but if I pause at each word and announciate, it is almost perfect. I just cant talk totally normal. All in all, that is a super cool feature that WinMobilePro could not match.... no way no how. Me likes!

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf someone sends me a group text, I usually end up with a bunch of replies from people I don't know. Same thing happens to everyone I send a group text to - they end up with a bunch of replies from people they don't know. This might be surprising to the software developers, but most of us have more than two friends, and those friends don't all know each other. It would be awesome if this feature could be turned off so that people aren't unnecessarily subjected to spam from others, who certainly don't intend for a large audience to see their replies.
This usually just results in confusion about who they're getting all these messages from, and I end up getting a bunch of "who is this" messages too. It's a really dopey feature because it definitely destroys privacy, and now my friends/family think they can't reply to my texts without others being able to read their responses.
Even I think twice about responding to a text now because I don't want a bunch of people who I don't know reading a response I intend only a friend to see, and I really don't want to end up with about 15 "who's this?" texts.
Is there any way to turn this off, or are we stuck with this "feature"?

I just got a new Droid Razor HD and am having trouble setting up my text messaging in that when I receive a text, only the phone number shows and not the name of the person the text is coming from. Since I do not memorize my contacts phone numbers, it is difficult to tell who I am getting that text from.

I know on the iphone when a message comes in the screen lights up and it shows the message... On the droid razr it only vibrates or makes a noise when on loud. The screen doesnt do anything and sometimes i forget that a mesage came in. Is there anyway to change it so the screen lights up or anything?
