is there any way to change the "Messaging" button to launch Handcent SMS instead of the Defualt app? I love handcent and wanna use this button to launch that instead of the app I won't be using.

I'm sure I'm missing something stupid. I've turned off notifications in the stock Messaging app (I'm pretty sure). And those look different (they have the green text bubble as the icon). Can anyone clue me in as to what that 2nd notification is below the blue Handcent icon? And can I get rid of it? I'd like to keep the text messages private is why I ask - I have Handcent and the stock Messages under App Protector. And I have Handcent's option checked to not show messages in the bar, just the notification.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst post here. I tried searching (a lot) and couldn't find the answer. You know the box that pops up when you send a text that asks what app you want to use? There is a message at the bottom that tells you how to change defaults once you check the "don't ask me again" box. I didn't bother to read that and now can't find where to change the default. Anyone know or can someone look at that box and read what it says at the bottom? I can't anymore since I chose a default and the box no longer pops up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo Samsung has already said that the galaxy s line is supposed to get the 2.2 upgrade later this year. Does anyone else think its possible that the fascinate could launch with 2.2? The X is out and the droid 2 is supposed launch next month, so unless they are planning to do a really quiet launch of the fascinate, it probably wouldn't launch until the following month or maybe even later. Could vzw be planning this phone to be their holiday phone this year? Or are there going to be bigger plans for that? Just thinking out loud and seeing what everyone else thought.

First scenario.. I'm reading a text. I hit the "back" button, and it throws me to the homescreen sometimes. Then I hit the messaging button again, it brings me back to that specific text convo. I hit the back button again, and it now goes back to my inbox. Why? Is there something I'm doing that sometimes kicks me back to the homescreen instead of inbox?
Second scenario.. I'm sending a text to 2+ people. When it sends it, it essentially makes up a new contact of those people to send it to. What it should do, I think, is update each individual person's text log with that text. I find it really annoying to send a text to 10 people, and then when I get a text back from one of them, the text I sent them doesn't appear in the history. Any way to change that?
Thirdly.. I'm sure I'm just missing this, but is there any way to "mark read all" emails? I get a lot of junk emails, and so far I've had to just click through each one. Kind of cumbersome.
And this last one doesn't pertain to either email/messaging, but it's something that has caught my eye. Sometimes when I get a call, it goes to that whole "puzzle" idea and makes me fit the "Answer" puzzle in the blank spot. Other times, it just has an "Answer" button to click. It doesn't really bug me, but why does it do one sometimes instead of the other?
Is anyone using WidgetLocker Pro w/ Handcent?I can't reply to a text because the popup doesn't move up so I can see what I'm typing in the text field.

When a message arrives it pops up on the screen and I hit reply but it won't open to allow me to. I have to swipe the screen and either pull down the notification bar or touch the handcent icon. It is annoying. I have tried different settings in the menu but nothing seems to fix the issue. Is handcent compatible with the fascinate? Even when I use the native messaging app I have to pull the messaging puzzle piece to unlock and touch the messaging icon. Please tell me there is a fix for this.

When I am having a conversation thread and I am responding, I open settings, attach, from camera, take a picture, and hit save. Once I hit save, Handcent force closes. I have tried to uninstall it and re-install it. I tried the same thing on the stock app and at first it didn't work but then I went into rom manager and went into JT's stuff and downloaded the stock MMS.apk, that did the trick for the stock messaging app but Handcent is still doing the same thing.
Is it possible to change the default shape (i.e rectangular) of the button (normal button as well as imagebutton) to something else maybe like star or a triangle in Android?

Its all black, and just says ME: Other Persons name: no avatar etc. Anyone know if theres a way to show the contacts avatar/image just like the Hero? I hate to install handcent for functionality that basically already exists by default. I Know it doesnt have popup's etc like handcent, but unless theres another app out there? However, I'm testing on a new Samsung Galaxy tablet and when I select my application after having pressed the home button, a new activity is being launched.
