I have a Motorola Moto G and my text messaging gets filled with Facebook notifications. I do not care to have these on my phone - what to do to get Facebook notifications off my text messaging site.

I installed Hand cent but now when i get a text both Hand cent and my native text messaging are giving me notifications. How can i make Hand cent my default? Any help would be appreciated.

I only get my email to show up on my inbox on my phone ONLY when i open email. Thing is, I'm using Viber to text friends overseas. I was wondering if there are any apps or any way to integrate all text messaging to the default android SMS messenger so I can use BrowserTexting? I know Viber text messages use the data plan, but it would be awesome if I could also use BrowserTexting to text through my Viber app. Or at least is there a way for me to also use my PC to text through Viber?
I have an odd problem and my searches for solutions have come up blank. I have a Nexus 4 running 4.2 on NET10. I receive automated text messages from an email address, but the number it comes from changes every message. Can i get these to all link together under one contact? the numbers are 1410000xxx where xxx are steadily increasing numbers(1410000001, 1410000002,1410000003).

In Froyo 2.2.1 there were an option called "Delete old messages", but in Gingerbread this options is not present and I just can set numbers from 10 to 1000 of messages per thread/conversation.
I need to remove this limit without installing a CustomROM (currently I've the stock one), is it possibile?
(I'm using Motorola Atrix 4G with Gingerbread 2.3.6 and I've got 2Gb of free space for system's apps and SMS, so I'm not worried about space occupied for text messages)

I assume one notification is from the FB website and the second is from the FB App? Anyway, I temporarily deleted the FB App and second notifications stopped. So how do I configure to receive just one notice, preferably the late arrival.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor awhile, my Facebook push notifications were working just fine until I had updated to Jelly Bean. I tried everything.. to clearing cache, data, uninstalling, and even the BlackBerry trick again (worked once before) and couldn't for the life of me figure out why they weren't working anymore. I thought maybe it was Facebook clashing with JB. I read everywhere and found out some people had no issues and some had some where every push notifications didn't work and some just Facebook.
Well I spend a day or so trying to figure it out and finally found a new, simple fix.
1) Open the Facebook app.
2) Tap on menu button on the top left
3) Account > Account Settings
4) Apps and Websites
5) Clear out Facebook related apps (Like Friendcaster or HTC Sense)
6) Clear data on the Facebook app and launch app
I noticed some off the apps in there have a push notification toggle button and I believe it was messing up the push notification system of there was to many to keep up with.
Once I spent 20 mins clearing those apps out, I cleared data and started the app notifications started working again. I didn't know it worked until someone wrote on my wall and I was shocked to see a notification!

On my GNex running CM10 (stable release), I have Facebook notifications turned off completely. But twice today and yesterday my phone will vibrate and it comes up with a notification for Facebook..and all it does is open the app right to my newsfeed. I don't have any actual notifications in FB either.

Same thing happens to everyone I send a group text to - they end up with a bunch of replies from people they don't know. This might be surprising to the software developers, but most of us have more than two friends, and those friends don't all know each other. It would be awesome if this feature could be turned off so that people aren't unnecessarily subjected to spam from others, who certainly don't intend for a large audience to see their replies.
This usually just results in confusion about who they're getting all these messages from, and I end up getting a bunch of "who is this" messages too. It's a really dopey feature because it definitely destroys privacy, and now my friends/family think they can't reply to my texts without others being able to read their responses.
Even I think twice about responding to a text now because I don't want a bunch of people who I don't know reading a response I intend only a friend to see, and I really don't want to end up with about 15 "who's this?" texts.
Is there any way to turn this off, or are we stuck with this "feature"?

I just got a new Droid Razor HD and am having trouble setting up my text messaging in that when I receive a text, only the phone number shows and not the name of the person the text is coming from. Since I do not memorize my contacts phone numbers, it is difficult to tell who I am getting that text from.

I know on the iphone when a message comes in the screen lights up and it shows the message... On the droid razr it only vibrates or makes a noise when on loud. There are several things I miss about iOS, and one of them is badge notifications without the need for a 3rd party app. Ideally, when I'm due a notification from Facebook, I want only a badge notification on the app's icon, like you do in iOS, and I'm getting that with "Missed it!" installed. However, I don't want an actual notification (via audible tone and indicator) in the notification bar. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Droid Maxx. I downloaded the Facebook app, but the problem is that it places all of my Facebook direct messages (emails, not "likes" or comments) on the main pulldown screen (the one where you swipe from the top when the phone is open).
I don't want this. I'm not a huge Facebook user, and I only want to see that stuff when I directly log into Facebook. I tried unchecking the box in Settings > Active Notifications, but these notifications are still appearing. With the iPhone, it was easy to simply turn off push notifications, but I can't seem to find this on the Droid Maxx.
Is there a setting I'm missing that controls the content that appears on the pulldown menu? How can I stop this from happening?
Simply disable the text messaging app and it will no longer appear on your unlock screen. Settings, apps, all, text messaging then select disable.

So I said i'll bear with it for a bit till I see which one I like best... I though Chomp was a lil better than handcent so i went them...

It keeps popping up on the top bar whenever I get a text from anyone even after accessing that text in Handcent.
