I have the Moment with android and have had no problems with picture messaging until last week. I can send pictures just fine, but when I receive them, the picture doesn't pop up in the text conversation like normal, it leaves a link to "download" the image. I click download and an error message pops up stating that the process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly and shuts down.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just updated my phone to 2.1. Also I have two email accounts. One Gmail and one dslextreme account. It used to be that when I got email from one or both accounts I would get a little envelope in my notification bar. Dragging that down it would show me the email in the Gmail account and the dslextreme account. But now I have a third notification with the google M in it. If I click it it opens a "conversation" window with the email. I can respond to it and it works just fine. But if I click on the Gmail email I get the usual looking email format. Now the interesting thing is if I ignore the google M and go straight to the google email and deal with the email from there the google M conversation disappears. Thank you for bearing with me through that lengthly explanation but here is my question. How do I turn off this google M conversation? I don't want that third notification nor do I want that style of email delivered. I want to go back to the standard type of email delivery. It's coming to my phone alright but I don't want dual notifications. I remember when I was setting up this new OS that a box came up and I checked this google M not understanding what it was but I have looked through all my settings and can't figure out how to shut it off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I got the original 2.2 update for my Droid, whenever I get a new text message and slide down the notification bar and select the new message, it takes me to the main text message window rather than the actual thread to reply to the person. It is really annoying because it requires an extra step. I figured it would be fixed with the second 2.2 update but it didn't. I called Verizon and they called Motorola and nobody knew of the problem so they shipped me out a new phone and it still does it! I am not sure if I am the only one experiencing this or if its normal. It doesn't do it 100% of the time but closer to 90% probably.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhats the scoop behind which one is really better? The stock messaging app or aftermarket apps (handcent and chomp). I use Handcent, and lately I have been finding it to be quite laggy and slow, even with cache cleared and all threads deleted. Is the only difference between stock and aftermarket, the fact that you can customize? I would much rather have a plain looking stock app that performs well, then a customizable aftermarket app that is slow. I am just looking for some opinions.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have galaxy ace duos and accidentally deleted stock messaging app, used for a while handcent sms and go sms pro, but for ten days I can't send a single message with this two applications. I can receive sms though.
bring back stock message app because that one always worked smoothly.. Gingerbread 2.3.6 is the version off course.
My phone (Xperia Play) came with pure Vanilla Gingerbread,. I've used SO many messaging apps like GO, Chomp, Handcent, Pansi, etc. and I just decide to go back to the stock app every time I switch apps after a day or two. The reason why I switch is because of one thing, the threads take too long to load on the stock app. I want to start texting. I have to wait literally 10 seconds just to open up a 1000 count thread. I don't like to delete my messages.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSecond, is it possible to ad 'GROUP CHAT' in the stock messaging app? Go SMS allows this currently but it's a very slow app. Stock messaging app works great, so it would be great if it could become a possibility.
FYI: My current phone is Evo LTE.
i wanted to ask using root uninstaller what if i delete the stock messaging app of ics and get some nice messaging app from play store? Will i face any problems ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a mod/tweak out there that would let me put group chat on the default messaging app. I know about go sms and handscent sms, but each has its own problem. I have a Verizon GS3 and was hoping there was a way to do this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted LG Optimus L1 ii, running the stock 4.1 ROM that came with it, from which I uninstalled the stock messaging app after installing Hangouts. As you might have guessed I was unaware that the stock messaging app contains the basic messaging capabilities and all other apps rely on this, so now I'm trying to somehow regain the ability to send and receive SMS.
I have tried installing Handcent, GoSMS, and an app called "Android 4.1 JB Messaging SMS", which claims to be the stock messaging app for JellyBean, all of it to no avail.
Therefore my question is, on a very fundamental level, what are the parts of the Android OS that are required for SMS and that I evidently destroyed? Can I get "generic" stock versions of the necessary apks or do they have to be specific to my phone model?
I've been using BrowserTexting, paid for the premium and it's been awesome. While my phone is charging somewhere in my room, I can use my laptop to reply back to whatever text I receive.
Thing is, I'm using Viber to text friends overseas. I was wondering if there are any apps or any way to integrate all text messaging to the default android SMS messenger so I can use BrowserTexting? I know Viber text messages use the data plan, but it would be awesome if I could also use BrowserTexting to text through my Viber app. Or at least is there a way for me to also use my PC to text through Viber?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an odd problem and my searches for solutions have come up blank. I have a Nexus 4 running 4.2 on NET10. I receive automated text messages from an email address, but the number it comes from changes every message. Can i get these to all link together under one contact? the numbers are 1410000xxx where xxx are steadily increasing numbers(1410000001, 1410000002,1410000003).
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to increase (or disable it!!!!) Message Text Limit more than 1000 messages per thread/conversation??
In Froyo 2.2.1 there were an option called "Delete old messages", but in Gingerbread this options is not present and I just can set numbers from 10 to 1000 of messages per thread/conversation.
I need to remove this limit without installing a CustomROM (currently I've the stock one), is it possibile?
(I'm using Motorola Atrix 4G with Gingerbread 2.3.6 and I've got 2Gb of free space for system's apps and SMS, so I'm not worried about space occupied for text messages)
If someone text me without me texting me them first I never recieve the text. I won't recieve any text unless I text the person first. This has started happening more and more recently and becoming a big problem. Almost to the point where I might go to a tour.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I was in the middle of typing a text message and wasn't able to finish it. When I closed out I got a message saying, "sent to drafts" Now for the life of me I can't seem to locate where that saved draft went on my samsung fascinate? Any ideas on where this mystery draft is at? Thus far the phone has been very, very intuitive except for this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf someone sends me a group text, I usually end up with a bunch of replies from people I don't know. Same thing happens to everyone I send a group text to - they end up with a bunch of replies from people they don't know. This might be surprising to the software developers, but most of us have more than two friends, and those friends don't all know each other. It would be awesome if this feature could be turned off so that people aren't unnecessarily subjected to spam from others, who certainly don't intend for a large audience to see their replies.
This usually just results in confusion about who they're getting all these messages from, and I end up getting a bunch of "who is this" messages too. It's a really dopey feature because it definitely destroys privacy, and now my friends/family think they can't reply to my texts without others being able to read their responses.
Even I think twice about responding to a text now because I don't want a bunch of people who I don't know reading a response I intend only a friend to see, and I really don't want to end up with about 15 "who's this?" texts.
Is there any way to turn this off, or are we stuck with this "feature"?
I just got a new Droid Razor HD and am having trouble setting up my text messaging in that when I receive a text, only the phone number shows and not the name of the person the text is coming from. Since I do not memorize my contacts phone numbers, it is difficult to tell who I am getting that text from.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes any of you know it is possible to disable the conversation style for text messages in the legend. I really prefer a separate in box and s separate box for my send messages. Most of the messages I send and receive are not conversations, so for me it isn't a good option for me. I already tried it with hand cent, but this also didn't have that option.
