so this is really starting to piss me off, there's a whole list of things that piss me off about this ROM.
It will randomly restart Text Notifications NEVER make sound no matter what i do. Home button does not work, neither does the search button.
I've tried rebooting, re flashing, downloading other things. Still to no avail. A little help please?

is there a way to make a diffrent sound for email, txt, other notifications. or is it always gonna be the same tone for all?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf this is the wrong place to post, apologies. I recently rooted, got ROM Manager with Clockwork Recovery and flashed the Velocity ROM. Everything works quite awesome, but I'm not getting my notification sound when I get a text message. I do get it for other notification events, and I've tried a couple different sounds just for good measure. Is this a ROM issue? An issue with my phone? Anyone else experiencing it? Right now I'm using the default messaging app.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero - no sound or vibrate for text notifications I have had my Hero for about a week (first Droid!). I am no longer getting sound or vibrate text notifications. I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy SII. I updated to the stock ICS last week, and ever since the update, my text notifications and email notifications will periodically mute themselves. Screen still lights up, notification is still in the notification bar, but no sound.
I've changed the settings to ensure I have them correct several times. I did a master reset as well. Doing a hard reset will fix the issue temporarily, but it always goes back to not working.
I've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
The only thing I've been able to find is how to change the default alert. Ideally I'd like one sound for email and another for text messages. It was pretty easy to set this on BB.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have done a battery pull, as well as restarted, and rechecked the boxes for repeat sound notifications for my text messages. The repeat sound is set at every 2 minutes. I do receive the original sound notification, but, I never get the subsequent notices. Verizon is at a loss...gee imagine that...But, at the same time, the Haptic (vibrating touch) randomly unchecks it's box and I lose that function about every 2-3 days also.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMine feels a little loose, and it make a rattle sound, am i the only one with this? its like the plastic isnt tight or something, but when you press it its nice and firm to "click" up or down.
also the bottom of the screen/whole left side where the KB is kind of dips down about a hundreth or tenth of an inch wen you press something on the screen on that side, im guessing thats normal for a slider.
I tried using home switcher to make calls but the same problem occurs. I can make a call, If I try to make a call after, the phone will lag on dialing then if it does connect I can't hear. If I receive a call it will answer but no sound. This happened after 2.1. I even did a factory reset and followed the upgrading instructions, everything else is fine except for this.

I have the Motorola Droid and I would like to find a way to get my phone to vibrate when I get a new text message while I have the sounds off. I have my phone set to vibrate mode but it only vibrates when I get an incoming call. Verizon said this was normal but there might be an application to change alert settings and such.

I realize other people might not want this but I want whatever app I was using to completely close when I tap the home button. There is one app that puts an X on your homescreen that closes everything when clicked. That is a little better but I want to go one step further and have the home button do the same thing. i have to press back like 40 times to get home.
i can't use my phone properly.

i have stock 2.1 hero downloaded the update today, but i had this problem likebefore the update but it wasn't as bad. if i could go back to the old verison like whatever was released today, the one before it that would be cool..

View 1 Replies View RelatedIdk if its a weird mode the phone is set in but all of a sudden today i've noticed a few random things happen...
1. the Home button won't work, it vibrates but does nothing when pressed
2. I have no unlock screen, when i press the power button it just brings me right to where i left off.
3. My ringtones were all set to silent
4. when i hold the power button the only option i have now is to turn the screen off.
Ok one of the weirdest things happened just now. I switched back to UD 8 last night just cause. I had on BB 0.5 b4 if that matters. I didn't wipe data or cache either (Don't know if that matters or not). So for some reason both launcher pro and android system force closed. So I went to UD settings and put fix permissions. I then switched to ADW Launcher to see if that helped.
That helped for a little while but while i was in a call a few minutes later I press the home button and it doesn't even work!!! I pressed back until I hopefully went back to the homescreen. It first of all never went back to the homescreen and second of all just stayed in the browser and another note is that while I tried to go home it didn't work but when I held the home button it showed my recent apps.
So I did a battery pull and all it did was stay in the boot animation for almost ten minutes. Now I just have the battery out to let the droid cool down. The CPU was getting pretty hot. Was this just an overheat or did my droid just flip out on me. Would like to know if something similar to this has happened to anyone else for future reference. I know I'm definitely not bricked but what would be the right steps to get back to my normal droid.
edit: all of this happened after I put the sense theme, keyboard, and revolution theme onto my sdcard. While the files were on my laptop they gave my laptop the blue screen of death. I found these files in another thread on this site. Could they be killer files set out to kill any device that they are on. Perhaps. But idk what to do still.
i just got my note 2 and week ago and until yesterday when i hold down the home button to get to my tasks manager it wont work. Ill hold it down but it will vibrate but nothing comes up -_- im not sure if i turned something off or if its broken. anything i should try before i go to the verizon store or something?

I want to change the text inside a button to be bold when the button is highlighted or pressed. I currently use a xml file to define the button and use the XML to change how it looks when pressed but I would like to do this without using an image.

The Home sample in the android sdk doesn't implement the Add item, which bring up the "Add to home screen" popup window, and Notifivcations item in onCreateOptionsMenu and onOptionsItemSelected. How to do that like the default home?
