I'm on Note 2 with Android 4.1.2 and every time I click on a link in the stock browser (specially on youtube) the "Complete action using" keeps popping up.
I do selection "always" not to mention.

I have 2 apps and both integrate a package containing an activity. My problem is that when I launch any one app, and when it calls the activity inside the package, it shows me a dialog:
Complete action using:
App1
App2
I want to eliminate this dialog, so it just launches the activity from its own integrated package.Currently, my AndroidManifest.xml contains for the package activity:
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="com.example.test.TestActivity" />
<category android:name="android.intent.category.DEFAULT" />
</intent-filter>
How can I register my app to show in 'complete action using dialog'?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am a newcomer to Android having recently purchased a Samsung Galaxy S I9000M (my first smartphone ever), marketed in Canada under the name Vibrant. It is running Android 2.1 and I have not yet rooted, unlocked or otherwise modified the phone.
I have downloaded and installed three browsers in addition to the stock Internet browser: Dolphin, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile.
After installing Opera Mobile I started having the following annoying problem:
When I was in the stock browser, every time I clicked a link the "Complete action using" window would pop up prompting me to select which browser I want to use. The choices were: Dolphin, Internet and Opera Mini (curiously, no Opera Mobile). I would check the "Use by default for this action" box and proceed to click "Internet" (the stock browser), which should have made the stock browser my default one. However, next time I clicked a link it would happen all over again.
This happened only in the stock browser, never in Dolphin or one of the Operas.
It's like my Android kept forgetting my choice of default browser although in the settings for the stock browser it said it was default.
I also noticed that after the installation of Opera Mobile the delay between clicking a link in any browser and the browser's reaction became noticeably longer (up to a second).
The 'complete action using' box does not come up when playing a video, even though my video player is not set as default app for playing videos. I have tried clearing defaults.

When I click on show map it should open "Complete Action Using" to ask if I want to open the map in the browser OR Google map. But now I don't get that option and it opens the map in browser by default. To solve it I already tried:
1. Reset "Launch by default" option in Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications.
2. Also tried Reset Phone factory Settings.Can you please help me in enabling the setting to get "Complete Action Using" window before it opens the map?
I am a new member and a relatively new owner of an X10i. Overall I am happy with the phone but I am hoping some can answer a question. When I press the home button (middle one) I get a prompt to select to 'Complete Action using Home or Timescape' This is quite annoying. I want the default action to be Home (not Timescape) but despite ticking the box in the prompt it still pops up this box.

So I was very surprised to find that supplying action+data where filter had only action, causes it to fail. In the code below, if you comment out line 47 so that data is *not* sent, only then it resolves correctly. To get it to work with the data (an id that is simply a String), what mime type should I specify in the intent filter?

My problem is when I start playing music, I notice that there's pop and crack once in awhile eventhough Beats is off/wifi off/air plan mode on... the pop and crack keep on appearing with other music players. I tried with different devices and I'm pretty sure my mp3s are just fine.
I've recently switched from an iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Any software that does a complete backup of phone to my PC similar to what iTunes does for the iPhone? Note: I would prefer not to root the brand-new phone since I understand that voids the warranty. Also, a backup to SD card is not possible since the phone does not include one.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI type out websites on Whatsapp and in my browser on a regular basis, but with auto-complete I end up saving and typing words that I didn't intend to because of the format of a URL. I could turn auto-complete off, but I still need it when I'm doing regular texting.
Is there any keyboard with a button that can turn auto-complete on/off when pressed? Or perhaps a home screen shortcut that can do this?
I can't even make a custom shortcut to the language & keyboard, and doing it manually takes too long.
My brother root his HTC Sensation, install CWM Recovery, and load CM10 nightly build.
When we tried letting the initial boot run its course, the device got caught in a boot loop. And today I only made matters worse, I had my brother wipe the whole thing to where the phone won't even mount as a USB device, it just tries to install drivers and fails when you connect it. However, while in recovery, fast boot commands work. Anyways, I'm trying to figure out how to restore the phone to stock and I just can't get it to work.
How to flash the ICS rom for the phone, and how to mount it as a drive (It currently is wiped with no OS.)
Here's my situation. I have 5 tablets and all being Acer A200's. One of them works fine, but the other four are stuck on the acer logo.
There is NO support for these tablets anymore, no honeycomb roms available to download, etc.
Is there any way that I can basically copy the whole rom/bootloader that's on the working A200, and put it on all the other tablets?

I am looking to completely restore my phone back to the way it was when I purchased it, though I am not quite certain of how to do it (and to load up a new Rom following that).
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II, running Cyanogenmod in an early version of Kit Kat (4.4).
My internal SD card is a little odd as in that it has an emulated SD partition inside of it (though I'm not totally sure if it's inner workings). This happened after I first installed Cyanogenmod. What do I need to have ready before the reset? (I want to install the carbon Rom on my phone).
Is there a way that I can create a complete image of a motorola xoom and a complete image of a motorola xoom 2 and then copy that image to another device of the same type? We have about 40 of each kind and when I have to reinstall I have to go to each of the 4 fastboot processes in order to rebuild each device when someone messes up on of them. The Xooms are not rooted and are not assigned to any service providers. MZ604 and MZ607. I was thinking along the lines of when I would create an image of a computer and image another computer. If this is not possible how could I just copy all the apps from one device to another device of the same kind. I know a little about fastboot and RSD lite.

Some examples:
- Open an app and let many windows behind, for example: Settings > More > Networks > APN > [Your APN]. Press the back button of the navbar several times faster. The animations are spoiled and the phone shows ugly effects. Or press the back button slowly, and in the middle of the animation press back another time.
- Open an app and press the Recents button. Press the Recents button another time, and press it another time when the animation is being showed.
- Enter in Recents, press home and immediately press Recents button.
- Enter in an app and press an option, and press faster the location of the next option you are going, and you know previously where it is.
Is it possible to enable/disable action bar icons? The scenario is that on the action bar there are two search icons, but they do different jobs, one searches the contents of the app while the other filters the listview (searches the table of contents only).
So if a user only wanted to use only one search method, is it possible to make an option in the settings on the app to enable/disable action bar icons?
