HTC EVO 4G :: Appbrain Fast Web Install Broken For All Appbrain Versions
Nov 22, 2010I recently read that AppBrain updated their app to v5.0 but that the Fast Web Installer that pushing apps to your phone from Appbrain.com WITHOUT having to go through the Market is broken with the v5.0 update because of changes with the Market's recent update.

QUESTION: does the Fast Web Install still work with earlier versions of AppBrain?? I have kept v4.8 installed on my phone but I'm having a problem with the Fast Web Install. I'm not sure if I'm experiencing a temporary issue or if the Market update is affecting ALL versions of the Appbrain fast web push?

Nov 24, 2010So, I haven't been able to sync the AppBrain app up with the online website. I want to download all the apps that I've selected on the website.
I've done this already for about 70 apps.
I've already checked my connection with my gmail account, it's all good. I'm just going to go through and install them all manually, but if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Sep 18, 2010So I just did a factory reset and made sure I backed everything up, etc. One of the first things I did was install AppBrain so I could reinstall all of my apps.
When I open AppBrain on my phone, none of my apps show up to install. I keep hitting sync and it doesn't bring up anything. I logged into my AppBrain account on their website and all of my apps show up and next to all of them it says "Cancel install".
Is there any way I can install all of the apps from the website? I would hate to have to download and install each app separately.

Sep 26, 2010I'm running win xp and my captivate has the new update stock. Not rooted. I have tried many times with many different drivers. uninstall them all and tried again with no luck. In the device manager next to the S3C6410 Android ADB there is always a yellow " ! ". I loaded kies.uninstall it then install the newest one. Also installed the sdk. Still no adb driver will load. . wtf. mass storge works. Just not the adb. It's driving me nuts.

Oct 20, 2010I was installing some apps from the market last night and all was going well until one application got stuck. The Market shows it as installing but nothing is happening. The Market still seems to function to load other apps but I have tried pulling the battery, cleaning the cache etc and no matter what I do when I go back to the downloads page the install on this app is still in progress. The Captivate is not rooted and I am not really keen on a hard reset as I have lots of apps and data. Any ideas from you pros out there?

I went to install the droid x Eye wallpaper - I transferred to my SD, then tried to install using Astro File Manager.. I get the popup stating that "For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in the Android Market".
Is this because Astro is not using super user privileges?

I removed the battery and restarted and flashed the factory ATT ROM and that worked fine. Why this is just hanging up on install. Seems everyone else who's downloaded it had no trouble. I've tried the file direct from design gears and also the mirror on multiupload.

Nov 4, 2010I rooted and then did this after downloading clockwork/rom manager:
How to Install ClockWork Recovery:
1. On the menu there should be an option labeled �FLASH CLOCKWORK RECOVERY.�
Press it.
2. Once a popup says that it has been succesful press �BACKUP CURRENT ROM�
3. Your phone will now restart and backup your ROM
4. If your phone does not start backing up and instead boots into a blue menu use the volume
keys to select reboot now and then press the power button. Try to do all the steps again.
5. Wait for it to finish and then it should restart.
Is this considered a Nandroid backup? Is there anything else I need to do as far as backups or is this the best method?
This will allow me to go back to my stock Rom at any point , is that correct?
Then I should use Titanium Backup for data/apps/settings?

Aug 4, 2010Is it possible to just install stock Android 2.2 on the Captivate or any phone for that matter. Like if you do not want touchwiz or At&t bloatware. If so, will you be able to update it continually over the air, or to get the newest release must you plug it into your computer each time.

Seemed pretty straightforward, but isn't working because I have no update.zip created by ROM Manager. When I did the "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" step no update.zip file was created in the internal SD root. Buried in the clockwork mod folder is recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-captivate.zip, do I move this and rename it?
