Samsung Captivate :: Uninstalled Tw Launcher - Install .APK File

I am going about changing the launcher on my captivate and made what seems like a crucial error. I am rooted, opened Titanium Backup and un-installed twlauncher. Everything seemed ok at first until i went to my homescreen, total blackness. Ultimately i wanted to get rid of tw because i don't like the UI wanted the stock droid launcher or LauncherPro or something. How do install the .apk file without touchwiz? or get my launcher back.

I'm trying to do my first ROM install and am following these instructions which no one seems to be complaining about: FAQ - Cognition Wiki
Seemed pretty straightforward, but isn't working because I have no update.zip created by ROM Manager. When I did the "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" step no update.zip file was created in the internal SD root. Buried in the clockwork mod folder is recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-captivate.zip, do I move this and rename it?

I am unable to install the USB drivers for Windows XP - I have downloaded the correct zip file, but the drivers are marked as being detrimental to Windows XP somehow and they just won't install. Can I copy them out of the zip file and manually put them somewhere? I'm inching ever so slowly towards rooting and am trying to get my ducks in line - but they're not cooperating.

I have rooted and installed Rom Manager on the Captivate; can I install a new kernel through clockworkmod recovery as a zip file as I am able to do on my Moto Droid 1? Any suggestions on kernels that will allow overclocking?

Which is best launcher for Captivate? which can help in saving my battery used by display (around 50-60%)
I used ADW for a while, but when I am on ADW my notification bar get vanished. I dk how..so i switched to launcher pro. I had a random shut down once, so now I am thinking it because of Launcher pro.
Is there any launcher (other then default one) which can be problem free and have good interface? Or I should wait for the Latest and cleanest version of launcher pro (the developer is writing it from scratch)
Hows is helix? anybody used it. HTC sense? can we use on captivate? Zeam launcher?

I uninstalled launcher pro to see if I preferred the original interface, and now I only see the top status bar, and nothing else.Turning from normal to landscape still works, so it looks like the phone is working, but the interface is gone.I tried turning the phone on and off again,and get the same issue.I know how short supply they are in, and would REALLY like o get this working again.

I am running Apex Launcher Pro and have started to notice a problem. When I uninstall apps that I have in folders in Apex Launcher Pro, the icons for those apps are not being removed when i uninstall the apps. I uninstalled roughly 30-40 apps not too long ago and they are all still present in my app folders on my desktop. Is there a way to have Apex remove these icons when uninstalling apps? Currently I have to go and test icons to see if the apps are installed or uninstalled in order to test them, which can be quite annoying if you have a large number of apps.
I am running the latest Apex on a Verizon GS3 running Synergy ROM.

First I recommend installing Home Switcher which will allow you to more easily switch between launchers if you choose to do so. From within the program you can see how easy it is to switch between them and/or make one the default.Once you have set your preferred launcher, go back to the home screen and you should see that your dock has changed to something similar to the next screen shot.To change the settings hit the MENU soft key (beneath the screen) and you should see this:Click on Preferences and that gives you access to all of the settings to customize the look & feel of Launcher Pro.To change the items in the dock, press and hold on the item you want to change. You will see a pop up that looks like the following:To change the item, choose one of the selections in that list and then follow the on screen directions.

I rooted my captivate thinking that i could install apps that are blocked on my phone, like Sirius XM, WiFI tethering.....even after rooting the programs are still being blocked and i cant install them. am i missing something? im new to android and had an iphone that i jail broke. im confused on what rooting actually.

I installed launcher pro on my vibrant and I love pretty much everything about it. but I lost my feeds and updates screen on one of my home screens that displayed stuff from facebook and such. It came installed on the phone so I don't know how to reinstall it on one of my launcher pro home screens.

I downloaded ADW Launcher but have no clue how to actually get into it. Its not under the applications. I may be missing something, could someone help me out?
Ummm ok nevermind. i uninstalled it three times and just installed it again and it seems to be working i pressed the home key and it came up. Is this how you do it every time?

When I press and hold on a widget to move it and let go of it in the place where it originally was, launcher pro locks up and I cant move through any screens.
The only way I can fix my problem is to press the menu button, go to applications and force close launcher pro.
It's really annoying, anyone else dealing with this or have a fix?

i installed launcher pro and i had a walpaper set and it looked fine but i tried a different one and didnt like it so i tried to go back to the one i had but now the image is being magnified and it looks like crap why is this happening it worked fine before i had downloaded some wall papers and they all looked fine until i installed launcher pro not like i said they are like zooming in whenever i set them

I am looking to make a WM7 style theme and for whatever reason when I create the icons in desktop visualizer, the icons turn out to be very tiny and cannot be resized by launcher pro plus. The little tab to resize doesnt even appear. what am i doing wrong here?

i loaded launcher pro & love it. On my dock I have: Phone, Market, App Drawer, Google Voice, & Browser. I installed a different browser - dolphin - then assigned it to my browser shortcut. I didn't really care for it so I uninstalled it. However, I can't change the shortcut in LP to my original browser. When I bring up shortcuts, there's not a listing for it.

I changed my browser from the stock to Operah. But everytime I hit the browser in the launcher it opens the stock one first. I tried the other launching programs, I didn't like that I couldnt use the widgets that come with the phone.

I'm running win xp and my captivate has the new update stock. Not rooted. I have tried many times with many different drivers. uninstall them all and tried again with no luck. In the device manager next to the S3C6410 Android ADB there is always a yellow " ! ". I loaded kies.uninstall it then install the newest one. Also installed the sdk. Still no adb driver will load. . wtf. mass storge works. Just not the adb. It's driving me nuts.
