I didn't see this question yet. It's annoying that when I download ringtones on my Captivate, it puts them right into my music files so that when I'm listening to music, the ringtones pop up and play every once in awhile. Does anyone know how to seperate the ringtones so this doesn't happen?

I had problems with my PC (Vista) recognizing the phone but now it seems to be working but I don't know if I should just drag and drop my music files to the droid or if I need to use a program to sync it. I have media money but it doesn't seem to be syncing up with my phone. I also would like to know if there is an app that would work better then the AT&T music player which I have read sucks.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI thought I finally got the hang of syncing my Captivate with media player library. Most of my music on my phone's stock player has been synced to my sd card is showing as unsupported files. I even have tracks from one album showing unsupported while the other 10 work fine. All are mp3 files. What am I doing wrong? I imported my itunes library or at least I thought I did. Can someone please explain to me step by step how to get my itunes files to media player and then to my Capitvate sd card? I'm about to pull my hair out after working on it for over 4 hours. I really don't understand all the technical terms most forum users are throwing about.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!
Should Samsung Kies be selected as the USB setting? That's the default.
Does anyone have the issue of games or other apps .mp3's getting brought into the music player? Any way to get around this or just either use a different music player or create a playlist?

I tried sending a picture from another phone to my handset (desire) and it received okay but when i tried sending a music file, it said sending and receiving but never came through, not even 1% of it.. but screen stayed on receiving part for ages before i got fed up and cut off.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo, got this new "awesome" phone I've heard so much about and I'm starting to get really irritated and about to throw it against the wall.I've read tons of posts on this forum and others and can't get new rintones loaded, and advice? I've used the sync feature in Windows Media Player to load music, and when I go into the Music Player on the phone, they are all there, but show unknown artist, unknown albulm, whats the deal? I deleted them and re-loaded, same issue. I deleted again and did drag and drop and they dont show in the medai player at all.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to JH7, and realized that I can no longer use my own specific audio files as ringtones anymore...its only letting me use the stock ringtones. When I go to Settings > Sound and Display > Voice call ringtone , the only ringtones I can choose from are the ones that came with the phone. It's the only thing that pops up. Theres nothing for me to click anymore that lets me search my android system for audio files.

When I navigate to the MP3 that I want as my ringtone, I tap the menu button to find the "Set as" option, but that option seems to have been removed altogether! Am I missing something here, or have AT&T and/or Samsung decided that we're not allowed to set our personal MP3's as ringtones and therefore are forced to either do without, or buy them from wherever? I have tried but with no success. I am able to play them in the player just not assign them as. My only guess is it is because I have no SD card yet. I've tried putting them in /media/audio/ringtones as well as the .nomedia text file solution, but unless I am doing something wrong, or it just works differently with this phone, the files still appear in the Music Player app.

I can connect the phone to the pc just fine and mount/unmount and copy files and such. What is bothering me is how the songs list in the player and under ringtones, seems all list the same in both places, I made a playlist, but I don't want my songs listing as ringtones. Anyone know how to do this better? Also, how to make it read the song tags info as well.

1. When I transfer my music onto the phone how can I use them as my ringtones?

I am running ICS 4.0.4 on a Samsung GS3 on the Verizon USA network.
The issue: I downloaded a ringtone and now it is showing up with all my mp3's (500 or so) in the Play Music App.
What I need: I do not want the ring tone to show up in the Play Music App but I want to keep the ringtone because I use it to identify when my girlfriend calls.
What I don't want to happen: I do not want the ringtone deleted because I still need it to function as a ringtone for one of my contacts.
I always create calendar appointments with an alarm. A few days ago I went to Settings/Sound and Display/Notification Ring tone and set it to "on time". Maybe a day or two later I created my own notification ring tone and set it in settings. The ring tone works fine in Astrid and Nudist. However, the calendar notifications still use the "on time" ring tone. I even tried changing the notification ring tone to "tweeters" but calendar still uses "on time", even after multiple reboots.

I put a 2GB SD card in my Captivate and want to set one of the songs on it as a ringtone. I would also like for the external SD to be the default location for pictures when I take them. Thirdly, I want to access the external SD card when I connect my phone to the PC via the USB cable, but for the life of me, these 3 issues I cant seem to resolve and they were cake on the HTC.
