After upgrading to rooted 2.2, I noticed that if I receive a text message at 10:18, it shows that I got it at 6:18 when I pull down the notification bar. When I click on it and go into text messages it shows the correct time though. Anyone else experience this? It's these minor things that are frustrating to me.

Anyone else notice in the new version of handcent your now getting both txt message and handcdnt message notification in the notification bar? Used to be i only got handcent but since about a week ago i noticed I'm getting both. Text notifications are set to off too.. quite frustrating.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy friends Droid with 2.2 displays a weird notification window whenever she gets text messages. When she gets a text, the notification window comes up with the message, the background picture is a nicely rendered white Android holding a phone up to his "ear". Across the top, it says something along the lines of "leslie2099 is 0.7 miles away. Chat Now!". I'm an HTC Hero user with Cyanogenmod 6, so I am reasonably familiar with Froyo, but I can't figure out what this is from. Any ideas?

Also is anybody else having problems with landscape mode? When i first got the phone it would go into landscape mode without the keyboard, but now it wont. I was wondering is the next software update going to fix it and if when?
I tried to delete all my text messages by going to manage applications, force stop on it and clear data. It didn't delete my messages but now the options to set a specific notification sound for text messages is grayed out.
1. How do I delete ALL text messages from ALL contacts?
2. How do I un-grey the notification sound options?
I have the HTC Hero & am using the built-in messaging application.Is there a way to always display at what time messages arrive? For messages older than the current day, it just says "Yesterday", but I would prefer "Yesterday at 5:00 pm" or whatever.Even holding on the message and going to "View message details" still says "Sent: Yesterday" which is slightly infuriating.

Same thing with incoming email on my gmail account.. I could have sworn that the phone would vibrate when I got a text the first couple of days I had it. View 18 Replies View RelatedMyself and 3 other friends in my town are all having the same issue with our EVO's.When we recieve a text message from anyone, the timestamp is always 1 hour ahead and therefore does not thread them correctly.My Time zone is set correctly and my date/time is correct everywhere else on my phone, only recieved text messages are 1 hour ahead.Called Sprint today and their only suggestion was to make sure I was up-to-date on my software which I am. Any other ideas?

I hate when someone responds with something short enough that I can read it right from the bar. Then the only way that it will not show up as a new message on the message icon or be bold in the list, I have to click on it, open the message app, and then back out of it. Not that big of a PITA just kind of annoying when I already know the full message.

Anyway, I've been without a working device for a week now as I wait for my DX to arrive. I just check voice mail a couple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything important. On the other hand, I have to imagine I have a serious back log of texts. A buddy of mine said he thought the DX (which my wife currently has) could be configured to retrieve texts from more than one account (phone number). Is that possible? Is there any other way to retrieve text messages other than with an activated device?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently been having issues with text messaging. About half of the texts that I try to send end up in a "pending" state. If you go to the factory messaging, and long press on a message, there is an option to "View Report" and that is where it has the pending status. I can't seem to figure out a rhyme or reason to this, but they don't actually get sent to the people I'm trying to send them to. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been fine with the stock messaging program, but would Handcent fix this? I'm up for trying anything at this point, as long as I can text and be sure the people are going to get them. BTW I was hoping the 2.0.1 update would fix this, but I force loaded the update and it's still doing it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted 2.2 DX, and on 2.1 when I got a new text it would jump to the top of the list with a blue dot next to it. Now ever since I upgraded to 2.2 I still get the blue dot next to my unread text messages but it doesn't jump to the top of the list. I don't know if that is just how froyo works now or if it's an issue just on my phone.

I don't know what the problem is, but for some reason I've been getting like 5-10 duplicates of text messages from some people. It's usually different people at different times and it's on various carriers.
