View 4 RepliesI am trying to install a sound file from a soundboard into my notification tone now when i do this it will only take place for e-mail while the text message stays default. This even occurs when i actually go into the settings and manually change the notification tone. the change will reflect for the e-mail but not texts
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my captivate today. is there a way to make fonts and stuff smaller, and change the threaded text message format to something besides bubbles?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Captivate has been nothing but a pain. The GPS comes and goes and the response time is horrible with the touch screen (give me old-fashioned BUTTONS any day!) Now the 'message' alert continues to go off and I can't stop it; I finally had to mute it. I have rebooted and even removed the battery and it won't stop.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I am on the phone and a message or voice mail is left, the notification blares in my ear. Anyone else experienced that and is there a resolution?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to change this? It cannot be changed through notification ringtone menu; all that succeeds in doing is changing tone for other notifications like email etc. Have tried to select other notification tones, but it is the "tada" tone that always comes up when SMS is received. Can the tone for receiving SMS be changed, and if so, how?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to block text messages (SMS MMS) from certain numbers? Or some sort of Text Message blacklist?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI know that the droid ringtone is for the droid x and droid 2 and it's probably trademark for verizon but I was wondering if there was any way to download it onto the samsung captivate? I'm talking about the text message ringtone that just goes "droid".
View 8 Replies View Relatedget a text message that just says subject no subject. Downloading. Only nothing is actually downloading. I get this message sometimes when people send me picture messages but only on some of them.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi have my captivate, and i checked the box to vibrate when i receive a text message. however, it only lights up and no vibration occurs.
View 5 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago i noticed my phone was silent, which is pretty unusual.I decided to check and see if i had any messages, hit the power button, and saw no little message icon waiting for me. I figured no one had texted me so i moved on. About a half hour later i checked again only this time went in to the messages app thingie and had three unread messages, all of which had come up within the last thirty minutes.Ive been checking it more often now and it does vibrate, but the little icon doesnt stay up long/at all. Any idea what im doing wrong? Its getting kinda annoying not knowing if i have a message or something.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded on the computer and put it as a notification tone. Problem is that it's not that loud. If anyone out there know a downloadable link for a good one please post it. Moderators I don't know if u want to make a sticky for post about finding wallpapers, ringtones and downloadable stuff but it'll help rather than having a bunch of noob androids like myself posting new topics everyday. Just a thought.
View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I get a text, it's almost impossible to hear the notification ringtone? When I'm on a call or listening to music at the gym, I get NO notification. Any thoughts?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know this is silly, but can you change the colors of the chat bubbles in messageing?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo when I receive a text and don't exit out of the messaging app when I get a text i get no notification at all, no vibration, ring or alert. Is this normal or if not is there anyway to fix it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have no problem setting custom ringtones and notifications but how do I do the same for text msg's received I can choose from a list of stock ones on the Device but wanna use my own is this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA while ago Buddies randomly asked me which program I wanted it to check for text messaging, I clicked the stock messenger. Now its stuck. I tried to go into the program settings and clear the info etc. But I cant make Buddies use handscent when I want to send a text
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been developing this app for a while now. Texdro makes it possible to receive an MSN-like notification on your computer as you receive a text message on your phone. If you click the notification you can send back a response. More features like conversations and such will come.
Info and download link here: Texdro
I have a couple of questions about notifications on the Captivate.
1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.
Not sure if this is an Android setting or a ChompSMS setting but does anyone know how to turn off the voice announcement when I receive a txt message?
It doesn't seem to be tied to the volume rocker as I still get announcements when set to completely mute.
When I put my phone into vibrate mode (either by using the rocker, or going through settings) my phone vibrates when receiving calls, but not when receiving emails or texts, they just stay silent, so I am completely unaware that I have received anything. Is this actually how Motorolla designed it's phone, or am I making a mistake? I receive texts/emails much more than phone calls, but am not always in an environment where I can have my ringer going off. Is there a way to set my text and email alerts (and any other alerts [voicemail, etc.]) to vibrate when in vibrate mode.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI'm using Handcent SMS and I never hear any kind of sound when I receive a text while on the phone. How do I change it so I can hear the alert?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am thinking there is probably a solution to this but I am unable to find it. When you are on the phone and receive a text I do not get any sort of alert. Previous phones would give me a beep or something to let me know I had gotten a text. However if your phone is set to vibrate as well as ring when you get a text the vibrations still go off but without any noise. It wouldnt be a big deal except the vibrate noise apparently is very audible and annoying to whoever you are on the phone with. I am one of the few who really like the stock messaging application so I am not using hancent or anything like that. Any ideas would be appreciated
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an htc hero with sprint. Recently, I have been facing some issues with not hearing or feeling text messages because I miss the tone or buzz of the phone, even with the max volume on. Is there a setting where I can make the phone repeatedly give me an alert and/or vibrate when I get a text message? I have searched both the sound and display option in the phone settings and the messages settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the free version, but in the full version: Can you open a Word doc, copy some text, and then paste it in an email message?
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if anyone else was having this issue or may know what could be causing it. Recently all my alerts in the notification area have their times off by 5 hours. For example it is now 8:22PM my time, if I were to get a text message now the alert would have a time of 3:22PM. The other strange thing about it is that when I view the text message inside the text messaging application the time is correct. I just noticed this problem the other day, but it's possible it began when I updated to 2.2 the earlier in the week. Any ideas?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an mp3 that I want to use as my notification and text message sound. It was on my computer. I have emailed it to myself and I am able to download it to my droid eris.
On my Eris, it appears in my music section. How do I set it as my notification sound? It is not appearing in the "sound" list for notifications.
Ive searched through the forums, and no one seems to have this exact question. When everyone other than my girlfriend texts me, my phone vibrates and plays the notification sound. Now, when my girlfriend texts me, I get no vibration, AND no sound. The only thing I could think of is that I gave my girlfriend a custom ringtone I made with ringdroid, but that wouldn't make any sense since its for a call, not a text. Please help me, shes getting mad at me when I respond 2 hours later.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have tried changing them but it comes up with the standard ringtones and I haven't got a choice to pick an Mp3 song as the new ringtone or message alert.
