I was using the app SyncMyPix to update faccebook pics, and I have to do some of them manually. When i try to link them to the contact, it says the contact is a read-only. how do i change that?

I installed the drivers listed in the topic at the top, I clicked mass storage as my option when i connected the phone, i mounted it by bringing down the drop down menu at the top of the phone (and hitting mount).... but when i connect it to my computer, I get nothing. I used to get an error message saying "There has been a malfunction with your USB device" in the lower right hand corner. I'm running Windows 7 32bit. I also tried on a Windows XP 32bit computer.

I'v tried this over 100 times I swear..I have tried turning Wifi on and off, Sync on and off, removed Facebook app, rebooting the phone, changing the password of my Facebook account and signing in on a desktop PC and deleting "Samsung Mobile" from Application Settings.. Unfortunatly no avail. I even tried setting up sync with brothers account. Same problem.
Every time I try to do an update on this phone it says "failed to communicate with the server".I have not rooted or sideloaded or done anything to the phone. How will I be able to get the updates?

Has anyone encountered a "Camera Failed" message after opening the Camera application? I tried rebooting many times (at least 5-6 times) hoping it was a software glitch, but would not go away. I was testing the GPS navigation (using Google Maps) and my battery drained from 60% to 30% in 20 mins!! Does using navigation or low battery charge screw up the camera?I was sure it was a HW defect thinking I had to return the unit, but when I got home, and plugged into wall charger for a few minutes, I found that camera started working again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIve noticed that when I send a text and the phone is out of signal, it just says, "FAILED" and calls it a day. I miss my blackberry in this respect, it would wait until it DID have signal and then would automatically resend. Is there any way to set this phone up so it automatically resends when I get signal back? I do get it sometimes where it says that its saving the texts until signal is rereached, however, lets say I get one bar back, well the phone "sees" that Im getting signal, tries to send, and then fails, and then calls it a day....

View 20 Replies View RelatedI had a stock Captivate with Eclair J6. I rooted and installed Rom Manager with ClockWork Recovery. I made a backup of my current ROM.I then installed the Cognition Froyo Beta. I decided I wanted to roll back to my backup ROM but whenever I reboot into Recovery, I no longer get any option of installing a ROM, update.zip, etc. All I get is a shortened menu that says "reboot, clear cache, wipe user data, wipe internal SD card". I also get an error that says signature verification failed.I tried reflashing the recovery area with a new clockwork update but I get the same result when rebooting into recovery. How can I restore my recovery area to a working state with the normal options?

Given both these situations, I'd like to know if there was a way to increase or change the call failed/ended tone. Problem is, I can't hear it.
Anyone notice that facebook notifications, just flat out doesnt work on this phone. i've tested an Aria, Incredible, and Evo, and it works on all of those. i've got notifications turned on and everything, and facebook is excluded from ATK but i never get any updates.

If so, I can't get it to work. I had installed the FB app and had the issue with it creating multiple profile links in contacts that would all take me to my page. After reading here I deleted it and just synced with SNS settings. Now I have nothing. No FB links, no pics, nothing. How can I get this to work?

It is checked to sync and shows the sync (circle with arrows) symbol but it never syncs. In contrast, my GMAIL is having no problems syncing...only the calendar. I used to use the Double twist player with double twist installed on my mac to sync with iTunes. works pretty well, just wish it had landscape on the device. then i heard about WinAmp being on the android so i switched to that. better device playlist management, plus it still works with the double twist files so i can still sync with double twist on my mac.

The problem is that I haven't purchased songs on itunes in over a year and I guess now they have something called iTunesPlus, which costs $0.30/song to upgrade to (and remove DRM) and doubleTwist can't convert my iTunes purchases to a playable format due to DRM protection. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had the Captivate for about 2 months now and during that time, I've never once got the contacts to sync up with my Facebook contacts. I've been to AT&T and they've told me that the phone is so new that they don't even know how to fix it.
What it's doing is taking at least two minutes to try and "sync" and them I'm getting a notification telling me that the sync is down at this current time and should be up shortly. I'm thinking two months is a little longer than shortly.
Is there a way for me to have my events on my calendar synced directly with my Google Calendar in order to get email notifications of what I have on my schedule? I used to have this ability with the ipod touch, and since this is a GOOGLE Android phone, you would think it would be possible here.

Apparently there's an issue with the way facebook sync's right now? I've been having the issue on the Captivate, but I guess it's not just us.
I have my Captivate hooked up to my company's Exchange server via ActiveSync. All is good there.My problem is that the handsfree bluetooth system in my car will only sync contacts with the Captivate's built-in Phone address book (vs the "Corporate" address book in Contacts Display Options).Right now, I have been exporting Corporate Contacts to the SD card and then importing them from the SD card into the Phone contacts. This can be a chore when I have to add/modify/delete a contact in my Corporate contacts as I have to delete all the Phone contacts and then redo the export/import every time there is a change.Is there anyway to sync changes automatically between the Corporate address book and the Phone address book? Am I overlooking something really simple?
