Is there a way to remotely view the screen on my Android device? I'm interested in giving training classes to business owners that have smartphones but don't know how powerful they are. It would be very beneficial to me to be able to show them what i'm doing, as I do it, on my computer screen or a projector.

Has to be a setting that has been changed.
When I switch my phone from what I'll call "portrait" view to "landscape" view (as in printing paper) the screen will not shift. Simple fix?
I know there is an app called Gmote for music and video. But is there one for pictures. And is there an app to upload/download pictures to and from the computer. Sorry if this has been asked again. I searched for a thread. I figured I wasn't the first person to want this but I don't see anything.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there an app that you would install on Tablet to run as service (and so small footprint), then you access a web page from PC or other device over internet, click a button and that takes screenshot of whatever there is on the Tablet with the server installed, downloads it and displays in a window in the browser?
So it doesn't need to stream or allow for remote control, only take screenshot of remote tablet and view it locally.Since ICS has screenshot feature built in, maybe it wouldn't even require root?
I have a Captivate that I just brought today.....and everything works just fine except the Contacts App. When I launch the Contacts App the screen is blank and nothing to click on to add a contact.
Is something wrong with just the app or phone? Has anyone experienced this?
Does anyone else have this problem? All I see is a still pic.

The weird thing is, it let me open one excel sheet once as what looked like an html instead of excel, which is fine as long as I can see it, but this hasn't happened since and it wasn't any particular thing different that I did. What should I do? Is it a bug with my specific phone?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI cannot get the recovery screen to come on for the life of me. I hold the volume buttons and the power button and once the AT&T screen pops up, I release the power button. It sits there for a second and the screen goes black. I have tried releasing the power buttons then and I have tried holding them as well.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo today in glass design I was checking messages when a small ( when i say small i mean you almost can't even see it) piece of glass landed on my captivate. My captivate has the body glove, screen protector and screen protector.When this little piece of glass got on the screen I tried to just rub it off but it cut through the screen protector and put a deep scratch on the actual captivate screen.The screen protector I was using was gadget guard so I definitely don't recommend using that if you plan on it because of how weak it is. I'm also disappointed with the captivates screen. If a small piece of glass barely rubbing on it can leave a deep scratch, I can't imagine what keys could do.You can't really see the scratch, but I'm just super ocd about it and can feel it on my finger every time it's in that area.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a confession to make.One of the first things I did when I got my Captivate was tried to De-TouchWiz it.I immediately got a new launcher and used lockbot to change the lockscreen.Well, what I'm finding out is that there are some things about TouchWiz that I really like.For example I love being able to change wifi settings etc. on the drop down notification drawer.I also love being able to change the brightness by swiping the notification bar.The one thing that I decided to come back to as a UI element is the Lock Screen.I didn't even give it a shot when I first bought the phone and today I've been using it and I love it.The puzzle message system is just a great tweak and I love how you can just move the puzzle piece into the puzzle hole to go straight to that application instead of swiping the whole screen to unlock and go to the home page.I also really like that you can kind of swipe any which way to unlock the screen, as well as the fact that it's transparent to your wallpaper/live wallpaper.All around, bravo to Samsung on the lock screen.I hope others are enjoying it as much as I am.

I can open/view attachments that have been sent to me, however I cannot open/view attachments in email messages that I have sent. I can see the attachment, and it's file extension, but when I click on it nothing happens. There is no open or save button like there would be normally. EDIT: I have read the other threads on this forum referring to issues with email attachments and none of them had the solution to my problem.

well a couple of questions actually. So first is it possible to only view pictures taken by the camera when I press the review button in the camera app? for example, not only do the pictures I take come up but also pictures of wallpapers and other saved images located in different folders show up. I guess what we are looking for is a way to allow you to get the phone to ring for those times that my wife cant remember where she put it, or to lock it or erase all the data if it gets stolen/lost etc. I presume that this isn't a standard feature on the SGS (unless we have missed it) and so I don't know if there are any apps out there that allow you to do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.

(settings>sd card and phone storage) it says i have external sd card 3.68 gb, internal sd card 13.03 gb and internal phone storage 1.64 gb. What is the difference between them and which one do the apps i download go to? And how can i choose which one to download to? In the Android settings I have it set for a 30 second timeout, but for some reason my screen will fade brightness, but never go off completely.

View 7 Replies View RelatedNoticed today that when the phone is unlocked with the power/unlock button, that the screen starts off at a significantly lower brightness, but the light sensor seems to then kick in and the correct brightness is then displayed after. This happens for only a fraction of a second, but is quite jerky and immediate.Is this normal, or should the screen brightness remain one constant level from unlock? Of course, changing when it should based on lighting conditions.The same also happens when the screen is about to sleep. Once the lock button is pushed, the screen brightness almost notches down in 2 steps. First at half the brightness, or so, and then off completely. Again, not necessarily smooth, but quite jarring.Again, is this normal of other Captivates?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently an iPhone 3G user and plan on making the AT&T Captivate my first Android-based phone. From all the reviews I've read and videos I've seen, it appears as though the Galaxy S (all carry variants) seem to have the same overly cool kelvin display (slightly too blue in the whites).
Do any of you know if it's possible to calibrate the kelvin on Android-based phones? Or perhaps if the Galaxy S has another way to calibrate the color / Kelvin of the display?
I picked up a gadget guard (full body) for 13.97 from eBay user jusage. You can also order it from iPhone, iPod, Cell Phone, Cases, Screen Protectors, Shields, Covers by Invisible Gadget Guard.
So I received this, steamed up a room for 10 minutes and then made a little bit of a solution (water and a drop or 2 of dish soap) I then began the process to apply it. Trust me, this isn't easy to apply. The video makes it seem easy but it is actually pretty hard. Now as of now the screen has some soap/water bubbles that are under, but it was pretty easy to squeegee out the big air bubbles. I finished that, but then it slid off again so I had to reapply. After this, I went to the battery cover and I put it on. The back was really easy to apply, I just put it on right onto place and it fit perfectly. The bottom of the back was fairly simple to put on because it runs a little bit small. Now the camera one comes attached to the sides and I tried to put it on. It was WAY to big. The hole for the camera was pretty big, but the sides went way over and just didn't fit at all. Then I tried to put the front cover (over the 3.5 and the bottom) and it just didn't fit at all. The actual product itself is okay ( I honestly hope that the bubbles go away) and it isn't to resistant. It is just about the same feel of the invisible shield.
Overall- I would recommend several other products over this. Personally, I would choose the invisible shield over this. It is much easier to put, and just a better product (the invisible shield is what I mean). I would also suggest the screen protector's from AT&T because I have put them on my past devices. So would I buy this case again? Probably not...

Alright, I am trying to root a friend's captivate but am unable to get to the recovery screen no matter what I do. We have tried every variation of keys. I have held the power, vup and vdown and let go of the power as soon as we see Att.I have held them all for minutes at a time. We have tried holding one or the other volume keys. No recovery screen.I have also tried using the "one-click" option provided over at xda.I installed the correct drivers, turned on USB Debug, and got no where with the program.I shows that it pushes the "update.zip" file to the sdcard, but does not reboot the phone into recovery to give me the opportunity to apply the update.My friend has tried a couple of different market root options...one called lagfix of something like that.It was a no go either.
