Samsung Captivate :: Receiving Multiple Copies Of Same SMS

So yesterday I noticed that I would occasionally receive multiples of the same text message. It started out only being once or twice, but it has increased in frequency. Today, I reset my phone with Odin3 and installed SRE 1.2.2a. Also, I added the lag fix. Unfortunately after resetting, I am still experiencing the same problem. I thought it was an issue with handcent, so I switched to chompSMS and the same thing is happening. Most recently, I have received the same text message 7 times, and it was originally sent an hour ago. The odd thing is that each copy that is sent to me shows the ORIGINAL send time, so its something on my end that is going wrong. For the record I have notifications only turned on for one SMS client at a time, so thats not an issue. i have toyed around with my sms settings and everything but for some reason I still am getting this problem.

I have put a few videos on my phone and when I browse to find them they appear to be two of each one. Does any one know why this is happening. When I look at my storage card via my pc, there is only one of each file

I've come across an interesting issue and thought I'd run it by the forum. I did a search before posting and didn't see anything about this. I'm going through my phone trying to free up some space. I use Uninstaller Pro to delete apps. Today I noticed that Google Maps is listed four times in Uninstaller Pro. Each one has the same version number and the same download date. I don't want to uninstall the program completely, but if it has somehow installed itself three extra times, I'd like to remove the copies. Root Explorer only lists the .apk one time Has anyone else had this problem or know of a reason why there would be four copies of Google Maps listed?

So I just bought Iron Man 2 on Blu Ray and it came with a portable copy. but when I put it on my phone I get an error saying "This Item expired. Connect to PC and download license". Can anyone help me with this problem?

When I send an e-mail from my Droid using my GMail account with the default GMail app, it sends me a copy of the e-mail. It does not do this with my other e-mail app. This is terribly annoying. I don't want a new e-mail of the e-mail I just sent in my inbox every time I send an e-mail. Is it possible to turn this off? I looked for a "reciept" option in the settings, but found nothing. The other e-mail app does not do this for my non-gmail accounts.

First noticed a problem when I got a warning message that I was running out of storage space on the phones memory. When I checked I found literally thousands of copies of the same photo in the S4PhoneDCIMCamera folder. I delete them all but the phone continues to make a copy approximately one every minute which I have to constantly delete to free up storage. what is making the copies? I want to install 2 copies of fb messenger, 1 for each of my 2 accounts......how can I make this possible......I tried decompiling the app, changing app name in manifest.xml and again recompiling. the app installs but when I try to open this, it force closes with an unexpected error......
I know many would suggest to use different messengers for different accounts....others will refer use of multiple profiles of titanium backup.....

I don't know what the problem is, but for some reason I've been getting like 5-10 duplicates of text messages from some people. It's usually different people at different times and it's on various carriers.

I rooted my phone yesterday and haven't done anything except remove AT&T bloat ware, install launcher pro, Titanium backup, and busy box. I haven't received any texts since yesterday but all calls and outgoing texts work fine. Is there any way to fix this or do I have to un root?

I used chompSMS, and after updating to their 4.6 version, I was no longer able to receive text messages. I tried everything and finally resorted to doing a factory reset, now everything is working, and I am receiving all the messages I was supposed to get during the period it wasn't working. Now that I am getting all the messages, I realize that I wasn't getting them from before the update as well. I guess chomp is not to blame.

This may be a stupid question but ill ask it anyway...
when i receive a text message or notification (ex. email) I'll hear my notification tone and/or the phone will vibrate but there the screen remains off and gives no visual alert.
all i really want is the screen to flash when i receive a notification

So today I tried using the Google Talk app with a friend of mine who was at his computer. I could see he was online and so could he, and he could receive the messages I sent him. However, I couldn't receive any messages he sent me (which was unfortunate since I set up a really cool Beach Boys ringtone to go off for gchat notifications...). Anyways, has anyone else had this problem?

I have a couple of questions about notifications on the Captivate.
1) My ringer, when someone calls me, starts off quiet for a few seconds then goes to full volume. The ringtone I have doesn't do that by itself, it must be a setting. Is there a way to make it ring full volume as soon as someone calls me?
2) Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when receiving a text message either while the phone is on vibrate or on normal volume.

Is there a way to assign multiple ringtones to each number, not to each contact? I have several contacts that have multiple numbers and would like "home" "work" "mobile" etc to all be different ringtones but still remain within the same contact.

I know it may be minor but I wish the my Captivate could edit how times the phone vibrates for calls, sms, calendar etc. I have my phone in my pocket ALL the time and always have it on vibrate cuz i need it that way. maybe someone will create something to edit the vibrate feature.

I have multiple gmail accounts. Anything besides my main account. I have trouble pulling up the content on my phone. Should I set it from IMAP to POP to resolve this? It is very frustrating because it just spins and spins and nothing comes up. What email handler works best on the Captivate?

I have uninstalled all my sms messaging apps except for the default HTC messaging app. Every time I receive a text message, I get 2 audio notifications, and there are two icons on the notification bar. When I pull it down, one of the notifications sends me directly to the message, and extinguishes one of the icons. The other icon simply says "you have an unread message", and when I click on it nothing happens, and the icon never goes away (unless you hit clear) on the notification pull down menu.It seems to me like I have two messaging programs installed, but I have gone over the list of apps for an hour and can't seem to find it.If it helps, the icon looks like a postcard, with a vertical line down the middle., black and white.

Has anyone else that has the Incredible been getting the same MMS multiple times on various occasions? For me, its appears to be random...although, now that I think about it, the two numbers that I notice it from I think are both AT&T...at least one of them is. Does anyone have any input on this?

I realize that you can't delete NFL Live, as it's one of the original Sprint-installed apps.
Here's my issue: I tried to open it and it prompted me to update. I tried this four or five times, with no success--before realizing that my problem was probably that I had not authorized an "extra fee" service.
Now, though, I've got five or six copies of the app on my phone. I can't seem to delete any of them. Is it not possible to delete the extras?

I've looked pretty hard to find an answer to this but only found things about sending multiple page texts, not receiving. As a Verizon customer I loved being able to send and receive 7 page texts to and from other Verizon customers. I recently upgraded to an Eris from that horribly lousy Alias and noticed that when the same Verizon people send me multiple page texts, the Eris splits the texts up. I'm fine with it doing this, but the thing that really bothers me is every time I get a multiple page text from a Verizon user it also sends me (and the person sending the text) a notification saying the text had special formatting removed or something to that extent. Some people I talk to tend to send texts that are 2 or more pages every time and the constant notification can get really irritating. Is there an app or a workaround to prevent this?

Much of the time I get a text message from an iPhone it either:
1) Comes through multiple times (this happens with AT&T iPhones)
Or
2) Comes through chopped up into individual messages that are also displayed out of order (usually from Verizon iPhones)
I have a screenshot of issue No. 2 but the AC app is not letting me upload it for some reason (never had an issue before) and I can't get the link to work from the desktop (grrr)
Are these issues because of iMessage and what looks like its inability to play well with anything non-Apple? LG-E970

I've had my X10 mini pro for about a month and now I can't stand some of the "features" anymore. First, I thought people where crazy, sending me the same sms two or three times in a row. But now I've realized that they aren't, it's just my phone that receives them over and over again. It is the same thing with notifications. If I set a reminder in the calendar, the reminder pops up in my notification bar sometimes five or six times before I get to angry and delete the whole event from the calendar. Is these problems specific to me or do anyone else recognize them?

Does the built in sms app fix the receiving 1 or multiple images as a slideshow? I know it isn't really a bug and is just how the app works, but I was wondering if there were any changes to the sms app in Jelly Bean for those who may not want that feature.
I am currently using Handcent but sometimes I still get images as a slideshow. I'm also having to click on the message to download it before I can view the slideshow.

i just got my incredible yesterday, so i apologize if this is a bit snobbish, but I'm getting two copies of my Gmail mail on my phone, one in the mail thing and one via the gmail app. i also have an email account from my Google apps hosted email. but i cant seem to stop the gmail app from showing me the email too. how do i stop it?
