I have an unlocked Captivate running on the Rogers network. Whenever I receive a text message it is timestamped for 4 hours earlier. If I receive a text at 8pm, it would show up as received at 4pm. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem as well. If so, are there any potential fixes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith the default messaging system in droid it timestamps all messages, both sent and received. With Handcent SMS it only appears to be time stamping the messages I send and not the ones I received. I am on the Motorola Droid and have the newest version of Handcent SMS.

However, there are some configuration items I have a big issue with as it relates to the 'look' of the email (coming from a BlackBerry).
1. Is there any way to have a single folder show my received items and sent items combined? My BB had this and it was very useful.
2. How can I edit the way my folders are displayed at the top horizontal bar? The sidescrolling folder display is awkward, it puts my inbox first (good) but then all subsequent folders are listed alphabetically; it pays no attention to their order on my desktop and also shows sub-folders of other files. Any way to change this?
3. Is there a way to change the way emails show as unread? The difference b/n read and unread is only a shade of grey, and difficult to see outside.
So for some reason my google maps program shows an incorrect gps position for my current location. It has me like 6 streets over . Anybody have any idea as to why this is occurring and how to go about fixing it?

I have had a samsung galaxy s3 for about a week now, and everything has been working on it fine until today. Suddenly one of my email accounts decided that it had the wrong password (a University email address); I tried deleting the address and re-adding but now it won't let me add it as it says that the address or password is incorrect.
As i know the password is right and really need this email address to work!
incoming text messages are all showing up sent 5-10 minutes BEFORE the time it was actually sent so it totally ruins convos on my moment.. Ive tried setting the time and using 'automatic' network time.. Someone please tell me how to fix this its driving me insane as I always have to scroll back up and it ruins conversation continuity.

For messages older than the current day, it just says "Yesterday", but I would prefer "Yesterday at 5:00 pm" or whatever.Even holding on the message and going to "View message details" still says "Sent: Yesterday" which is slightly infuriating.

The last time I used this feature was about a month ago.Logging into my Sprint account, it appears Sprint has updated their website to include something called ZipText.This is new to me but may not actually be new. It appears to be set up to forward any texts it receives by default and the messages I expected to see did not appear there. In fact no texts appeared there.So is anyone experiencing problems receiving texts? I have tried powering down and up my phone.I have successfully sent 2 texts to different people but I do not receive their replies or new messages.I cannot see a setting that would cause this.I have gone into the "Messaging" application to send texts.

Anyone have any idea how I would go about converting a timestamp in milliseconds from 1970 (from android's System.currentTimeMillis();) to a UNIX timestamp? It need only be accurate to the day.I figure I could divide by 1000 to get seconds, and then divide by 86 400 (number of seconds in a day) to get the # of days. But I'm not sure where to go from there.

On precious phones, namely my palm pre, the timestamp was always when it was sent. Whose issue is this, sprint or Android? I'd much prefer to know what time it was sent. If my phone is off and I turn it on at 5pm, I want to know that the message was sent at 434pm.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my girlfriend is having an issue with her phone. I don't see it being an issue with mine but it might be something else. She is receiving non-alpha numeric characters in her text messages. So far shes gotten it from me and one of her other friends not knowing what to say she called it "caligraphy". Anyways, I am on Metro and her friend is on Verizon. I'd figure its a CDMA issue but she is on a Samsung Moment on Sprint which is also CDMA so idunno.
To me they send fine, but to her some of the texts she receives come in all garbled. Not sure whats going on, anyone got any ideas? Her phone is unrooted, stock, and like a week and a half ago had a factory reset done. Its 2.1 android. In this screenshot I asked her to forward me the "jibberish." She had tried to do it several times earlier but i never got the messages, this time i got it so heres a screenie for you all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a Verizon user in the US Pacific time zone (GMT-8) and ever since daylight saving ended yesterday, I've had a glitch on my incoming message non-Verizon timestamps...they come in as GMT. I just received one at 1:42pm and it says 5:42am. This has been happening all day yesterday and today on messages sent from non-Verizon customers but the ones from my Verizon-using wife are just fine. I can't find any way to fix it in the software itself.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the root scene, and have been messing around with different ROMs, but have noticed on two different ROMs (frankenrom & virtuous) that when I receive text messages, the time stamp on them is incorrect. My account was set up in Illinois, but I'm now in Delaware. When I send a text it stamps at Eastern time, however when I receive a text, it comes through at Central time. This causes my texts to become unorganized and I have to scroll up in stock messenger (prefer this over Handcent or chomp) to read my new message. Any ideas? It was fine before I flashed any ROMs but now its really bothering me.
