Feb 22, 2010I would like to write a widget that emulates the look of an application launcher shortcut. In particular I want the white font label on a black, semi-transparent background. As it should look the same as the launcher shortcut I wouldn't like too much to imitate the actual look, but to re-use/copy it. Any idea where I can get that?I checked the launcher app and found application-boxed.xml, but it doesn't seem to do what I want and I am probably way off anyway.

Oct 17, 2010I have a widget with a configuration activity.
Currently the configuration launches when you click on the widget.
I want to add the configuration as an app icon to the launcher.
The problem is that when the configuration launches on click, I get a specific widget id , so each widget instance can have a different configuration.
What will happen if I start the activity from the launcher?
I wont be able to show multiple configurations on the same activity.

This way if I use the DPAD the widget is focusable but the click doesn't work. The touch still works but the widget is not displayed as focused.
Android :: Launcher Pro And Beautiful Widget (Home) Animated Forecast
Jun 10, 2010I have an Eris and running 2.1 (not rooted) Just started using Launcher Pro. One problem to resolve. I installed Beautiful Widgets - Home as I thought it acted the same as it does on HTC Sense. The location is good, the time is good but when I touch the weather part of the widget, it stays static. I expected to get to see the "forecast" for the next few days.
Also I expected it to be somewhat animated when it is invoked (fog, rain drops, sun throbbing, windshield wipers) as that's the way it is on HTC. I thinks some of you are using this app here on LP. Can you tell me what settings to use to get these features (animated weather and weather forecast) to work? Do I have to download and use a skin other than the default one? If this is a Beautiful Widgets developer question. Does someone have the developer's email as it's not provided in the site (in France I believe).

I was able to use the Sense UI Email Widget.
I have sense installed CM6 and LP. I looked to recreate the Sense UI Email Widget, but couldn't find it. So I thought, ok I'll upgrade to LP+ and that will have the Email widget.
Nothing. I have searched the market for Email Widget as well, but don't find anything similar. So what are you, running LP or LP+ using for an Email Widget similar to the one in Sense UI.

Aug 23, 2010I just purchased the Launcher Pro as this blows the old HTC Sense out of the water.However, I used to have a Photo Album widget when using the original HTC Sense UI.In this widget you could simply swipe your finger up or down on the widget and it would scroll to the next photo.Now that I'm running Launcher Pro I cannot find the Photo Album widget anywhere. I tried out the Photo Gallery widget but it doesn't have the swipe feature.
Anybody know if there is a way that I can get the old Photo Album widget to work on this or a possible alternative?

For messages older than the current day, it just says "Yesterday", but I would prefer "Yesterday at 5:00 pm" or whatever.Even holding on the message and going to "View message details" still says "Sent: Yesterday" which is slightly infuriating.

Jun 24, 2010With the default messaging system in droid it timestamps all messages, both sent and received. With Handcent SMS it only appears to be time stamping the messages I send and not the ones I received. I am on the Motorola Droid and have the newest version of Handcent SMS.

It need only be accurate to the day.I figure I could divide by 1000 to get seconds, and then divide by 86 400 (number of seconds in a day) to get the # of days. But I'm not sure where to go from there.

Nov 8, 2010I'm a Verizon user in the US Pacific time zone (GMT-8) and ever since daylight saving ended yesterday, I've had a glitch on my incoming message non-Verizon timestamps...they come in as GMT. I just received one at 1:42pm and it says 5:42am. This has been happening all day yesterday and today on messages sent from non-Verizon customers but the ones from my Verizon-using wife are just fine. I can't find any way to fix it in the software itself.

Handcent is good but I don't like how when you're adding a contact in "To" field, the number shows. Is there any way I can enable the contact NAME to show up in the To: field?
