Has anyone else noticed that all incoming sms messages have the wrong timestamp? I'm on a Rogers phone. I always just assumed no one set up there timezone but I can't believe that anymore. I wish it would just display the phones received time.

Im recieving texts about half the time with wrong timestamp usualy about 5 hours fast, if i recieve it at 4pm it would say 9pm. anybody know how to fix this or what app to download?
View 6 Replies View Relatedanyone notice in picture details that the timestamp is wrong? there are 2 timestamps in a pic, a 24hr one and a 12hr one. the 24hr one is correct but the 12hr one is delayed 5 hrs exactly. anyone know why this is or how it can be fixed?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have just root'et my magic (not for the first time) and everything went according to plan, i uploaded the update-zip file to my sd card, and went in to the update menu (or what its called) and pressed apply update, and after the phone was updated, i pressed reboot. And here starts the trouble: the phone just locks at the HTC Magic screen, its keeps showing that screen for a very long time, and nothing else happens, so i need some help to "wake up" my phone again.I cant find my phone in SDK when i use the "adb devices" command.If i try and use the [Home+Power on] command, i get a screen with a phone and a triangular sign with a "!" above the phone. Can anyone help me? what should i do?

For messages older than the current day, it just says "Yesterday", but I would prefer "Yesterday at 5:00 pm" or whatever.Even holding on the message and going to "View message details" still says "Sent: Yesterday" which is slightly infuriating.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMyself and 3 other friends in my town are all having the same issue with our EVO's.When we recieve a text message from anyone, the timestamp is always 1 hour ahead and therefore does not thread them correctly.My Time zone is set correctly and my date/time is correct everywhere else on my phone, only recieved text messages are 1 hour ahead.Called Sprint today and their only suggestion was to make sure I was up-to-date on my software which I am. Any other ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith the default messaging system in droid it timestamps all messages, both sent and received. With Handcent SMS it only appears to be time stamping the messages I send and not the ones I received. I am on the Motorola Droid and have the newest version of Handcent SMS.

It need only be accurate to the day.I figure I could divide by 1000 to get seconds, and then divide by 86 400 (number of seconds in a day) to get the # of days. But I'm not sure where to go from there.

On precious phones, namely my palm pre, the timestamp was always when it was sent. Whose issue is this, sprint or Android? I'd much prefer to know what time it was sent. If my phone is off and I turn it on at 5pm, I want to know that the message was sent at 434pm.

If I receive a text at 8pm, it would show up as received at 4pm. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem as well. If so, are there any potential fixes?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm a Verizon user in the US Pacific time zone (GMT-8) and ever since daylight saving ended yesterday, I've had a glitch on my incoming message non-Verizon timestamps...they come in as GMT. I just received one at 1:42pm and it says 5:42am. This has been happening all day yesterday and today on messages sent from non-Verizon customers but the ones from my Verizon-using wife are just fine. I can't find any way to fix it in the software itself.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the root scene, and have been messing around with different ROMs, but have noticed on two different ROMs (frankenrom & virtuous) that when I receive text messages, the time stamp on them is incorrect. My account was set up in Illinois, but I'm now in Delaware. When I send a text it stamps at Eastern time, however when I receive a text, it comes through at Central time. This causes my texts to become unorganized and I have to scroll up in stock messenger (prefer this over Handcent or chomp) to read my new message. Any ideas? It was fine before I flashed any ROMs but now its really bothering me.

Handcent is good but I don't like how when you're adding a contact in "To" field, the number shows. Is there any way I can enable the contact NAME to show up in the To: field?

In Android is it possible to insert a sqlite timestamp into a database using ContentValues?
When I try to add it using something like
ContentValues args = new ContentValues();
args.put(MY_DATE,my_date);
I get an error telling me that my_date needs to be a string
After upgrading to rooted 2.2, I noticed that if I receive a text message at 10:18, it shows that I got it at 6:18 when I pull down the notification bar. When I click on it and go into text messages it shows the correct time though. Anyone else experience this? It's these minor things that are frustrating to me.

Calls now show timestamps in the format of 1 hour ago or yesterday rather than displaying the actual time of the call.

Sadly, the Android Market in Canada does not have any paid apps. I was just wondering is there any way I can put themes onto my phone? I find that it really sucks that I can't use any of the dxtop themes or openhome themes in the market unless I actually have the app itself (which I cannot purchase).
View 3 Replies View Relatednew to this site as never had any problems with my magic till today, my 2 year old to my horror threw it against the wall and the battery etc fell out, Fortunatly when i examined it there was no damage screen wasnt cracked or damaged or anything, however since ive turned it back on theres safe mode in transparetn writing at the bottom left of the screen and the touch screen doesnt work and every time i go into a process such as say contacts , i get the 'the process android.process.acore has stopped please try again everything works like i say i can go online but obviously without the use of the touch screen i cant type, nor can i send texts due to the lack of touchscreen so what can i do HELP PLEASE Or do i have to face facts and get in touch with my insurance ?

For people that made the switch. Do you honestly like it better? I don't care if it doesn't blow the iPhone out of the water I just want somethin onpar with the iPhone. Just better will I be satisfied with the magic if I make the switch to android or should I wait for a G4 or something? I can't get the hero cause non currently or ever will support my art carrier. I was wondering if anybody docks their Magic (or similar) to one of those thing-a-ma-bobs that holds it between two speakers? They're generally made for iPods but hold other players as well.Because of the wee USB port, I have bought a little adaptor so now I've got 3.5mm jack, but I don't know how well that would dock.
I just want something cheap so I can set it on the kitchen counter whilst making dinner and washing up. I don't even necessarily need it to be at a good angle, so I could just buy a cheapie pair of stereo speakers, but thought something small and compact would be more convenient if I want to move things around to different rooms.I went ahead and bought something verrah verrah cheap off Amazon. I'm not looking for a Carnegie Hall experience, so cheap oughta do the trick. But, would still like to hear about your gadget if you want to talk about it.
