Android :: Handcent SMS Received Timestamp

Jun 24, 2010

With the default messaging system in droid it timestamps all messages, both sent and received. With Handcent SMS it only appears to be time stamping the messages I send and not the ones I received. I am on the Motorola Droid and have the newest version of Handcent SMS.

Samsung Captivate :: Incorrect Received SMS Timestamp

Sep 15, 2010

I have an unlocked Captivate running on the Rogers network. Whenever I receive a text message it is timestamped for 4 hours earlier. If I receive a text at 8pm, it would show up as received at 4pm. I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem as well. If so, are there any potential fixes?

Android :: Handcent Timestamp Glitch - Daylight Saving?

Nov 8, 2010

I'm a Verizon user in the US Pacific time zone (GMT-8) and ever since daylight saving ended yesterday, I've had a glitch on my incoming message non-Verizon timestamps...they come in as GMT. I just received one at 1:42pm and it says 5:42am. This has been happening all day yesterday and today on messages sent from non-Verizon customers but the ones from my Verizon-using wife are just fine. I can't find any way to fix it in the software itself.

Android :: Chompsms Timestamp Problem Switched To Handcent

Sep 5, 2010

So after reinstalling chompsms twice, the timestamp out of order doesn't disappear so I'm using Handcent in the meantime.

Handcent is good but I don't like how when you're adding a contact in "To" field, the number shows. Is there any way I can enable the contact NAME to show up in the To: field?

I'm on Android 2.1

I have to uninstall Hendcent for the delivery report option to show up again. My question is how do I set it up so that I can see the little green check mark confirmations in Handcent?

Android :: How To Read Timestamp?

Aug 24, 2009

I would like to read timestamp from sensorEvent. I read that timestamp is "The time in nanosecond at which the event happened ". So, if event_1 happened two seconds before event_2, timestamp_event_2 - timestamp_event_1 = 2 000 000 000 ? If I am right, I have a problem because I ask some details about the new event when timestamp_new_event - timestamp_old_event > 2 000 000 000 and it send information only one time in a minute...

Android :: Timestamp On Sms Messages

Sep 16, 2009

I have the HTC Hero & am using the built-in messaging application. Is there a way to always display at what time messages arrive? For messages older than the current day, it just says "Yesterday", but I would prefer "Yesterday at 5:00 pm" or whatever.Even holding on the message and going to "View message details" still says "Sent: Yesterday" which is slightly infuriating.

Android :: Milliseconds To UNIX Timestamp

Mar 10, 2010

Anyone have any idea how I would go about converting a timestamp in milliseconds from 1970 (from android's System.currentTimeMillis();) to a UNIX timestamp? It need only be accurate to the day.I figure I could divide by 1000 to get seconds, and then divide by 86 400 (number of seconds in a day) to get the # of days. But I'm not sure where to go from there.

I've had my E4GT since February and have noticed that the timestamp on my messages are for when my phone receives them. On precious phones, namely my palm pre, the timestamp was always when it was sent. Whose issue is this, sprint or Android? I'd much prefer to know what time it was sent. If my phone is off and I turn it on at 5pm, I want to know that the message was sent at 434pm.

HTC Incredible :: Timestamp Issue While Texting - Frankenrom & Virtuous

Oct 11, 2010

I'm new to the root scene, and have been messing around with different ROMs, but have noticed on two different ROMs (frankenrom & virtuous) that when I receive text messages, the time stamp on them is incorrect. My account was set up in Illinois, but I'm now in Delaware. When I send a text it stamps at Eastern time, however when I receive a text, it comes through at Central time. This causes my texts to become unorganized and I have to scroll up in stock messenger (prefer this over Handcent or chomp) to read my new message. Any ideas? It was fine before I flashed any ROMs but now its really bothering me.

Motorola Droid :: Had Handcent / Switched To ChompSMS / Back To Handcent

Jan 22, 2010

when the stock Messaging app wasn't cutting it, I installed Handcent. But it started flaking out on me, so I dumped it and went to the more-reliable chompSMS.I liked it a lot.But to be completely honest, I missed some of the features of Handcent. But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks. Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

Is this correct? I'm sending my phone some sms messages, but the log statement never gets printed. Android :: Can't Compare Received SMS Text To Value

Nov 12, 2010

Im new to programming, so bear with me. After following a couple of tutorials i made an SMS application, i want to do an specific task when a specific text is received, i do this by comparing the text received to a value(code) that i already declared. The problem is that this condition never ocurrs. When I send the message it always displays the inv variable (Invalid). I tried to change the "code" variable to an integer, and then parse the string so I could compare it; in this scenario it did work, but whenever I received a string message the application crashes. I think it should be a simple thing, but since i don't fully understand java i can't figure it out.
