Samsung Galaxy S :: Put Password On Folders ?
Aug 29, 2010My girlfriend just got a SGS and she wanna know how to set a password for her folders ( pictures and videos).

My girlfriend just got a SGS and she wanna know how to set a password for her folders ( pictures and videos).
Had my Samsung Galaxy S this week and love it......my mates in work have iPhones and they say they can create folders on thier pages, name them accordinaly (music, pictures, apps etc.....) and then place the corresponding data, media etc..... in them, so they are all placed in specific folders.. Is this avaiable to do on the Galaxy S? Is there a app out there for it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased an unlocked and unbranded Samsung Galaxy S i9000 from Amazon.
After playing around with it for some time, installing all sorts and getting to know how to use it I decided I would perform a factory reset to "clean" it before continuing to use it "properly".
Before performing the factory reset I navigated to "My Files", selected delete, then selected every single folder and file and deleted them.
I then performed the factory reset.
Now I am missing 4 images which were available as wallpaper in "gallery" and probably several other files/folders.
I thought the factory reset would return the phone to its original state and reproduce any folders/files I may have deleted in the process. I thought they might be stored in a hidden "partition" or similar which I had no access to.
Anyway my questions are how can I restore my phone to its original state and which other files/folders would have been present initially but have now been deleted by me?
Is it possible to create folders inside Applications menu? I know how to create folders on the desktop but not inside, does anyone know how to do that?

I put a password on the screen lock but now want to revert to swipe
is it possible to remove the password without resetting to factory data?
I have had a samsung galaxy s3 for about a week now, and everything has been working on it fine until today. Suddenly one of my email accounts decided that it had the wrong password (a University email address); I tried deleting the address and re-adding but now it won't let me add it as it says that the address or password is incorrect.
As i know the password is right and really need this email address to work!
I don't want to sync anything with Google or Samsung. I have a galaxy note.
I don't have sync enabled but I see a Samsung account folder in the Android browser favourites. There is nothing inside, but how can I remove this folder?
I already uninstalled the Google and Samsung sync applications with titanium backup but the folder is still there.
Is there anyway to password protect my folders and apps? Even my photos gallery?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine set a password on his Galaxy Note and then he forgot it.Now, I know the solution is to access recovery and wipe data/factory reset.
BUT unfortunately he has lot of pictures and videos stored in the phone memory, not on SD, and he'd like not to lose all of it.
Is there a workaround for that? The Note is stock, but I can work on it, if there's a way to unlock the phone without losing data.

I'm looking for an app that will allow me to encrypt folders (preferably without having to go through a third-party file manager) on my Galaxy Note 2 and Nexus 7, while possibly being able to also decrypt and view the folder/files on a Windows or Mac machine.
BoxCryptor is one that I've looked into but I'm not sure if it will allow me to encrypt folders within folders.
A little bit of background for what I need this for... I'm a medical health professional and there are times when I have sensitive data about some of my patients that I need to access via my phone/tablet/home/work computer. I don't necessarily need the folder of patient data to sync across all devices but if that could be done (say via DropBox or WebDAV, encrypted), that would be a bonus.
There are some apps on Google Play that seem like they might work:
Encryption Manager
Safe+
DroidCrypt
I have spent a bit of time working on my galaxy s3 on folders and app placement .. is there anyway to save that .. on that other device it saves it in itunes but I can not figure out how to do it on a phone i like much better
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had this same problem happen twice to me on 2 different phones on 2 different Verizon accounts!
The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?
What folder/file my gmail password is stored in on my Galaxy S?
I've searched for it via Root Explorer but its not showing any results?
I usually view email with attachments from my pc because I usually lack the time to download the attachment. Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?

I'm on a family plan with my wife and 13yr old son. We purchased a Galaxy S4 for our son as a Birthday present in October. However, as of recent his grades have taken a dive. We notice he eats, sleeps and breathes on the phone. He primarily uses it for surfing the net, instagram or youtube. We were thinking of grounding him and removing his phone but we need him to have his phone as a point of contact. However, is there anyway to stop his data usage. I realize there is a setting on the phone to disable data usage but it is fairly easy to re-enable it.
Is there anyway to lock or password protect the phones settings or data usage?
I tried googling but the results kept yielding information relative to the "lock screen" which isnt what im looking for.
I have a galaxy samsung camera ek-gc100, i lost the password.
How can i unlock it without losing the data?
I just got the Galaxy S (Vibrant) & I have a lot instore for it but sadly I can't get to the folders to add music, video, pics, anything.

I just got my new Captivate and synced up my corporate e-mails.Everything came in fine, but it provides me with EVERY sub folder in my inbox along the top and when I consolidate it .it doesn't last.Is there a way to only display the basic Inbox, Sent, Draft, Deleted boxes?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I create folders (I use Launcher Pro) and fill them with app shortcuts, after a few days (or a week), I can no longer open the folder. If i drag a new app in it, it still doesn't work. If i delete the folder and create a new one and put the same apps in it... it works again.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSometimes, some folders just will not open. I click the Games folder and it just stops opening after a while. I have to restart to fix the problem, but yes, I am able to click it, it highlights, and that's pretty much it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to android but just used the guides at this forum to root my LG Optimus V. I was wondering if now that I have root there is a way to install a boot password similar to the one I have on my computer. Before it loads the operating system, the BIOS asks for a password. Is there any similar functionality for android?
Also, is this possible on other devices even if it is not on mine? It's one of my favorite laymen security measures.
I recently bought the Samsung Vibrant phone. I am a little intimidated by it but trying to learn things, but have two questions I need to find answers for quickly - for business reasons.
I found out how to put a file on my computer, but not how to name it...i.e. clients...that type of thing....
AND the guy that talked me into this said that I would be able to access my home computer with this phone so if I needed to send a file while away from the house, I could do that. BUT I cant seem to find that.
AND LASTLY...there seem to be a lot of aps on the phone already that I done want or wont use, but the TMobile guy (who uses a blackberry) could not seem to figure out how to get rid of them.
ALSO...for anyone looking for some cool covers for the phone...decalgirl.com has some great skins for the phone AND the Realook screne protector is wonderful...changes nothing and cant tell it is there, but do follow the directions as to the water to take all dust out of the air.
Has anyone figured out if it is possible to move an email from the inbox to another folder on the account such as a "Saved" folder? If so, How is it done?

I try refreshing the screen, hitting the stop button to put it to sleep but the only solution seems to be powering off the phone and turning it on again.
