It'll light up for a couple of seconds with no alterts, notifications or sounds, then go right back to sleep.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use MyBackup Pro and it can store its backups on an external SD card. I've searched but haven't been able to discover if Titanium has this same capability. If a phone needs to be replaced, what good is it to have the backup internally? I know I can copy the TitaniumBackup folder to my external SD card along with its files, but can it be done automagically as a program option during the backup?
View 28 Replies View RelatedThis has happened to me twice now. I get a red warning triangle that the external SD has dismounted itself improperly. I take off the back of the phone, and sure enough, the microSD is most of the way out of the slot like it got ejected. I push it back in and all is well. And I only have to push it in once. The slot actually ejected the card like something tripped the spring in there.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my Captivate this past weekend and love it so far. I came over from the HTC Aria so I am a little Android savvy. Question is this. I put a 2GB SD card in my Captivate and want to set one of the songs on it as a ringtone. I would also like for the external SD to be the default location for pictures when I take them. Thirdly, I want to access the external SD card when I connect my phone to the PC via the USB cable, but for the life of me, these 3 issues I cant seem to resolve and they were cake on the HTC.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNew to this phone and loving it. I live out in the boonies and no DSL/Cable, no other carriers have 3G, so been using the tethered phone (Yes, 2GB + $10/GB ... I know!). Phone likes to switch between EDGE/3G. Phone unrooted.
1) Any app to easily force 3G only? I know about the dial #*#*197328640#*#* -> Option 1 -> Option 8 -> Option 4 -> RAT to WCDMA setting but would prefer an app for when I take the phone out with me.
2) Ordered an external antenna / connector. Will I really have to drill a hole in my battery cover? There has to be somewhere I can order a battery cover from with the hole there already? I can't be the only person wanting to do this.
Does the captivate automatically store the music from the music player to the external sd card or do you have to set it up manually like the photos
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a newbie to this forum, and hope someone can help. Have had the Captivate for almost a month now and am plagued by an annoying problem. I have set up email accounts connecting to a google-hosted email account via IMAP. I am finding that when replying to a received email, my reply goes out with redundant repetitions of the email address on the "to" line. Example: Email from soandso@gmail.com arrives. I click "reply" on the phone and the reply goes out to soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com; soandso@gmail.com etc etc *10 times*, instead of just once. It also copies me about 10 times! Is anybody else seeing this? I use this for work emails, so it looks very unprofessional like I am trying to spam my clients! I have another couple of days before my 30-day return period is up, so hopefully someone else know how to fix this. Is there some setting I am overlooking?

When I use the default email client from captivate, even when I set the checking period as every 10mins, I won't get new emails unless I open the app and manually refresh, well, except the one of gmail. This happens on my yahoo email, hotmail and my school email, which all worked fine on my old iphone. People have talked about yahoo mails won't be accessible through wifi from Android, which happens on mine too. But even when I was at 3G, the email client won't auto check it either. I have tried K9 email client, it doesn't work either. The only thing I find work is the MailDriod, but the function of this app is very limited, it won't even open attachments by default. Does anyone else here have the same problem, or maybe an idea to fix the default email client?Also, I find when I use the ear set make calls, when I try to click the button on the ear set, it won't hang up the call as my iphone would. Is this a bug or just something Andriod can't do? The button on the ear set seems quite useless with Captivate, it can only control to play or pause by single click when play music, won't do song change when doule click it.

I will send a message to someone and when they respond it will actually be displayed before the one I sent them. This is kind of hard to explain so I will do my best with an example. Instead of the messages being in this order:

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks when I get a text message or email I get the regular notification but also another/different "icon" for the same message; so I end up with two icons in my notification bar. And the only way the "new" icon can be cleared from my notification bar is if I physically pull down the bar and press clear (even if I've read the message it stays there until I clear it). It's starting to drive me crazy...my ringtone even goes off twice. Anyone have an idea on why this is happening? I don't have any third party message apps installed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Captivate has been nothing but a pain. The GPS comes and goes and the response time is horrible with the touch screen (give me old-fashioned BUTTONS any day!) Now the 'message' alert continues to go off and I can't stop it; I finally had to mute it. I have rebooted and even removed the battery and it won't stop.

View 5 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago i noticed my phone was silent, which is pretty unusual.I decided to check and see if i had any messages, hit the power button, and saw no little message icon waiting for me. I figured no one had texted me so i moved on. About a half hour later i checked again only this time went in to the messages app thingie and had three unread messages, all of which had come up within the last thirty minutes.Ive been checking it more often now and it does vibrate, but the little icon doesnt stay up long/at all. Any idea what im doing wrong? Its getting kinda annoying not knowing if i have a message or something.

If anyone out there know a downloadable link for a good one please post it. Moderators I don't know if u want to make a sticky for post about finding wallpapers, ringtones and downloadable stuff but it'll help rather than having a bunch of noob androids like myself posting new topics everyday. Just a thought.
