Ok I am new to this. I have some documents on pdf and I would like to put them in my phone and read them.
How do I go about it and do I need to download anything extra.
I tried to put the pdf file in the "image" folder but it does not show up on the phone.

I think we all would agree that the native email application in the Captivate leaves a lot to be desired. One of my biggest peeves is that I can read, or mark as read, a message and then a few hours later it shows as unread again. I have 4 inboxes and this can really get confusing. Anyone else running into the same issue and discover a fix?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo today i was looking at my contacts and i noticed that anyone who has a facebook account and is linked to my contacts, has 5 linked contacts in their info. thos 5 linked contacts all being repeats of the facebook contact. its like each contact is linked to itself 5 times. i tried deleting the extra ones but it says i cannot delete a read only contact and i tried displaying only my phone contacts and disabled contact sync with my facebook account but they are still showing up. any idea of what to do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell, I am sure that at some point in time you all have sent a video but I am trying to figure out why I can't send videos. Last night, I was performing at a night club and I wanted to send the videos to friends and what not so they can hear our singing. However, the video clips are anywhere from 8-20 seconds long and they are not in HD quality but 3gp. Yet it tells me the message can't be attached because it's too large.
Today I had a show, and my brother recorded me and I wanted to send the video out and it still says the same thing. Is there anything I can do? I love At & T but I am wondering does this have anything to do with their Data cap because when I had my Droid X and Incredible on Verizon. I was able to send videos up to 30 seconds long to phones via MMS but I can't send videos on my Captivate. I couldn't send videos either on the Xperia X10, I had, the aria I had, and now the backflip. (I am just using it because I love motoblur for the social networking, not the phone).
I attempted to import my contacts from my old HTC Touch Pro phone by using an application to export them to a .csv file, then importing them into a gmail account. That part all worked fine. However, when I linked the gmail account and synced up the contact information, there are a couple of problems. First and most important, its not bringing over all of the information. It brought over the contact name, but when you tap on the name, it only shows a gmail link and none of the other information. Second, gmail is using only the first name for the full contact. example: the contact it titled 'George' instead of the person's full name like "Butler, George'. How can I fix these two issues?

Everything seemed ok at first until i went to my homescreen, total blackness. Ultimately i wanted to get rid of tw because i don't like the UI wanted the stock droid launcher or LauncherPro or something. How do install the .apk file without touchwiz? or get my launcher back.

I'm used to good headphones- having owned upper level Sonys and Ultimate Ears. The set that comes with Captivate is fairly mid grade- not awful, but not great either. I've been looking at aftermarket headsets with microphone and there are very few models advertised as compatible with Android phones, but tons of choices for iPhone.I see that many posters here own(ed) iPhones.Do the iPhone headset with microphone work with Captivate as expected? Are there possibly mic sensitivity issues, or some other things I should look out for? Looking to get a set in the $70-$120 range so that I can enjoy my mostly lossless music library.

Seemed pretty straightforward, but isn't working because I have no update.zip created by ROM Manager. When I did the "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" step no update.zip file was created in the internal SD root. Buried in the clockwork mod folder is recovery-clockwork-2.5.1.2-captivate.zip, do I move this and rename it?
I am unable to install the USB drivers for Windows XP - I have downloaded the correct zip file, but the drivers are marked as being detrimental to Windows XP somehow and they just won't install. Can I copy them out of the zip file and manually put them somewhere? I'm inching ever so slowly towards rooting and am trying to get my ducks in line - but they're not cooperating.

Old phone messed up trying to switch contacts to new Android phone. Old phone is unfortunately not usable. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulties developing my first app. My problem is a bit too specific so I couldn't find if any1 else had the same problem.
After writing a number as a string into memory and reading the said string from memory, I cannot convert it back into a number.
For example, the string written in is 1234, when I retrieve it and write it onto the app, it still shows up as 1234.
When I convert this string to an int using Integer.parseint(), it gives me an error. Then I tried converting a String 123 thats just declared, it works perfectly.
I assume it is the retrieving part that messed up the string and made it unable to be turned into an int. or how to store numbers in memory in other ways?

I am trying to revive white Pandigital using ADB commands to push files on the system's folder of the device then flashing them.
The computer sees the device, adb has root access, yet when trying to push files is gives me an error indication that the system/data/midc is a read only. tried adb remount over and over with no lick. Is there any other way to get to write on the system folder?
