So my wifes captivate is having a display issue! It just slowly powers on to colored speckles. I tried Odin 1 click, and I heard the normal galaxy power on sound, but the display is fuzzy color dots.

When I take videos with my droid, they always have "noise" in them. Little fuzzy dots of green and such (If you don't know what I mean by noise). I have set the quality to high and all that good stuff, even did changed the videos mbps from 3 to 8 with that trick that was posted, to no avail. Anyway, here is the video. Its pretty hard to see the problem with youtubes quality, but if you can spot it just picture it as being a hell of a lot worse. Also, the darkness is not part of the problem, I realize the droid doesn't do well in dimly lit areas, although my room is brighter than the video lets on. Pay close attention to the walls, especially when I look at the ceiling and you may see it through YouTubes bad quality.

I just got a samsung captavaite and i was told that the buddies now widget was also suppose to show your friends whom you added to the widget status/post on facebook if they had facebook. is there something that i need to do/activate for this to happen? also does anyone know what the 2 dots on the front of the phone is? i know it's not a front cacing camera, but it's strange.. can't seem to figure out what it is.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust received my Epic via the little Brown truck yesterday, and I'm loving most everything about it so far.One niggle is the gap between the 'top' half of the phone (the sliding part with the screen) and the chrome trim ring is variable.While resting camera down on a table, the gap is consistent all around. but if you were to hold the device by the 'top' part, the gap along the side where the volume buttons are grows to almost the thickness of a quarter ($0.25). It's almost if it's wobbling on the slider mechanism, when the slider is CLOSED (unlike when open, as in other posts).Another niggle is that the button to the left of the HOME button is not equally lit across the image (looks like a page).It's almost as if the image fades from left (bright) to right (dim).Finally, the camera is completely crap. Even in a well lit office environment, the image that is centered and 'focused' before the shutter falls comes out blurred and ugly.Strangely, the background is crystal clear.Flash or not makes no difference.Otherwise, all my pixels are lively, the function keys on the bottom are all equally responsive to the touch I would expect to make them work, and voice quality is great.So is my experience unique, like the device is a lemon, or is it consistent with this gizmo?

I used this sim on my iphone 3gs before and have no issue to get 3G signal at my house. Is there a setting somewhere that i can turnon or off 3G. I went to setting menu but only see wifi setting. On the iphone i can turn on or off 3G.

1)Has anyone found a way to change which picture is displayed for a linked contact? On the HTC Aria, you could choose whether you wanted the picture from Gmail or the one from Facebook.
2)Has anyone found a way to change the displayed name in Contacts. Again, on the HTC Aria, you could pick whether to display the name from your Gmail contact or the one from the Facebook contact.
After 18 months of dealing with Apple's crap, I switched to an Android. I picked up the AT&T Captivate yesterday at a store in another city (50 miles away) since my local store wasn't open on Sunday. I love this phone. The display is crisp, the response speed is smoking and surprisingly, I like the touch whiz interface, so far. I am having an issue however. When I left the store, I was on EDGE, and all was fine. Drove home on the EDGE network and had EDGE in town yesterday. When I got home I setup my wireless network on it and the web was crisp. Played for a bit, then went to bed. This morning, when I left for work and left range of my home wireless, The phone didn't pick up the EDGE network. ie. I have no EDGE connection. I've rebooted the phone and still no EDGE. (3G doesn't exist in this 1/2 horse town...sigh) I got EDGE pretty much everywhere with my I phone 3G in this crappy little town.

Lately my Cappy will turn itself on and stay on. For example, I have my phone on my desk, and the phone display will turn on, and stay on. No message, phone call, text or meeting reminder is received.
I have done everything that I can think of in order to increase my battery life. I even took the old jeep to the shop to get the AC port fixed so I can charge in my car. I don't know if I have a genuine problem here or if I am just being picky. I know I have been using my phone more the past 3 days because it is a new toy and I can't keep my hands off of it, but I have noticed that the battery does not last more than 8 hour of normal use before it is completely depleted. I rooted it, removed the bloat, turned of GPS and Wireless assist, don't use WIFI, installed a task manager, and turned screen brightness to the minimum.
With all that being said the phone still does not last near what I think it should be. I have had it for 3 days now, so I am guessing what I am hearing from other people is that my battery should be broken in by now. I don't know what else to try. I noticed that when I check the battery use, the display is usually 70+ percent. Is there some day to decrease the brightness beyond the stock settings or something to increase life?Does it sound like I may need to do a battery swap. I know I have been playing with the phone more, but I feel like I haven't been using it so much that it should die that quickly.
There are two dots near the speaker under the under that can seen if you look at the phone. What are those, because they are not listed in the manual at all.

Hero really rocks, but today I just figured out that Hero only display 65k color, a bit surprise cause the hero display is amazing, I thought it is 16m color.

How can you adjust the color saturation of the display? That is, colors ...For my Samsung Galaxy i9000 has a program with voodoo control, through which you can adjust the display settings (gamma, contrast ...).

I'm setting background color based on a given state of an object in each row in a list. That part is working just fine but when I set the background color on the outermost layout the row no longer highlights when selected. Probably a specific attribute I'm not setting/changing?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have read a few threads, but they aren't saying the evo4g is having this problem. but mine is. i imported my contacts from my outlook and all the images are coming up blurry when i receive calls and make them. also, a lot of the images on my contacts aren't even showing up on the phone, but i see them in the outlook actually it looks like the Vermeer images i was using when i had my iphone aren't loading, but regular images are. anyways, for the regular images from the outlook sync to the phone, is there a way to get them clearer?

I'm using high resolution pictures from my computer, but they're still showing up fuzzy on calls. The weird thing about the people widget is that a few of the pictures will show up clear, but the rest look horrible. Someone told me the issue was that Google compresses the pictures when they're synced with the contacts down to around 96x96, if that's the case, does anyone know if that can be changed? (I'm assuming not)
