I am wondering if anyone else is having problems with their Samsung Captivate sending picture messages. THEY WON'T send! This is the 2nd phone I've had because the other one was having "seizure like activity" and this is the new one I got yesterday and it STILL WILL NOT send picture messages. I tried directly from the pictur and also by creating a new message and attaching the file.

There are many complaints of the same issue, so Im considering returning the Aria and getting a captivate. Im just worried it will be a little bit too big for m tastes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I just got off a half hour conversation with AT&T and We cant figure out for the life of the phone, why MMS messages cannot be sent. Although, when they did send me a small AT&T logo I did receive it. And When I sent that to myself, it did send and I received it again. I then took out my SIM and put it in my BlackBerry 9700 and MMS sent find and received fine. Any size picture. I then took a picture with the camera on the Captive in Fine, Normal and Super Fine. And each picture I tried to send to myself. Each said Compressing picture and when I go to send it, it stays on sending. That guy got so fed up he told me to Google it lol. So I did, and I see some others are having the same issue.

1)Has anyone found a way to change which picture is displayed for a linked contact? On the HTC Aria, you could choose whether you wanted the picture from Gmail or the one from Facebook.
2)Has anyone found a way to change the displayed name in Contacts. Again, on the HTC Aria, you could pick whether to display the name from your Gmail contact or the one from the Facebook contact.
Did anyone notice that you can't use the camera to take a picture/video when you are on a call? First phone I've owned to prevent this.

View 22 Replies View RelatedGuy at att store put my sim card in from my iphone 3g and none of my contacts showed up, he played around with it and got it. but when i wanted to go add a picture to the contacts it wouldn't allow me. i took the picture, went to set as, clicked contacts and then none of my contacts were there. Any idea on what i can do to fix it or what i am doing wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was taking a picture with my phone a little bit ago, and my phone locked up. None of the buttons would work and I couldn't hold power button down or nothing. So I pulled my battery out, let it sit for about 5min and put it back in. Now it's been about 10min and still on the "AT&T World Phone" screen. I'm going to just leave it on that screen and hope the battery dies all the way soon, then hook it up to the wall and see if it will turn on. I know the iphone has a way where you can reset a phone if it locks up, and of course i have my numbers backed up to my google account so I'm not worried about that. Don't really care about the videos/pictures I have on ther ebecause I typicall upload to youtube/flickr right after I take them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to send an animated GIF as an mms. I have tried both going in and creating a new message, then attaching the gif file, as well as viewing the file in the gallery, then selecting send/messaging.
Neither will work. When I attach it, it says file type is not supported. When I try to send it from the gallery, it converts it to a still image. I am attaching the gif file in hopes that someone here is smarter than me.
when receiving pictures through gmail (I simply use the gmail app) they don't automatically appear in the email, like it does on my girlfriends Captivate through the gmail app. She didn't do anything special, just set up email and when she receives pics when she opens the email they're just there. Now there is the download and preview button next to the attachments but when I hit those my phone just says "fetching attachment, please wait". I've left my phone for at least 5 minutes and it will just sit on that screen. On one pic I did let it sit for a few minutes, gave up waiting, but noticed the pic later in my dowloaded folder. But this is the only pic it's done that with. So I would a way to get the pics to just show up in my email when I open the email, or not have to wait minutes on end for a pic to maybe get downloaded. I feel like there should be some solution without me having to download some app, since my girl's phone can do it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter messing with the settings and tryna figure this out, I think I came to a conclusion. When I set the camera setting on the phone to 3.2MP and the Picture quality to Normal, I was able to send an MMS Picture message over the EDGE network. I started trying to figure this out when I download FXCamera and noticed that it would send an MMS over EDGE. So I went into the settings on that program. I noticed the smaller picture with less quality sent, and the better quality picture didnt send. And I waited, and waited, and waited and still nothing.
So I put on the Default Camera App. I had it set to Super Fine and 5MP. I could never send an MMS picture that way. Switched the settings....3.2MP and Picture quality to Fine, and Bam. The picture sent. Give it a shot, tell me how it works out for you.
Everything was OK yesterday but now I.can't send SMS! Any settings I can change to fix this?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI just got my samsun captivate a week ago and i love it! but lately its been sending old messages that i haves sent before to people without me sending them. i look in the text log and the messages are there like if i had sent them but didnt. sometimes the messages that got sent on its own dont show up tho. why is my phone doing this? should i take it back to at&t and get another one? help. i really love this phone and dnt want to get rid of it

I will send a message to someone and when they respond it will actually be displayed before the one I sent them. This is kind of hard to explain so I will do my best with an example. I can't find an answer. New smartphone user. On the Captivate how do you send short codes like 332211? When I try the phone puts a hyphen in the middle. So using Google and I guess even regular dial it won't go through.
