I recently upgraded my phone to the leaked Froyo and ever since then I have been having a weird issue with my messaging. I will send a message to someone and when they respond it will actually be displayed before the one I sent them. This is kind of hard to explain so I will do my best with an example. Instead of the messages being in this order:

I have a captivate. When I compose a text message the persons number initially shows up as the ten digits. Now when I close out of the text message and try to go back and serbs something the persons number shows up as only 7 digits. When I try to send a text with only the 7 numbers I get a return error message saying
8852662 Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number.
How do you send a text message using the keyboard instead of tapping send on-screen?

This is the 2nd phone I've had because the other one was having "seizure like activity" and this is the new one I got yesterday and it STILL WILL NOT send picture messages. I tried directly from the pictur and also by creating a new message and attaching the file.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was walking my dog and he almost slipped, all the while I happened to be taking my phone out of my pocket and boom, fell and now the screen is shattered. Its a Samsung Captivate, it seems to work just the screen is shattered. Its done. Literally. I already signed a 2 year contract with ATT, my mom isn't into smart phones and stuff, is it possible to use her upgrade and get a new phone? Then she can cancel the Data Plan? I share a family plan with her, only thing I can think of.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I just spent half an hour drooling - err, browsing - in the AT&T store. I had just about talked myself into an Aria, but I love the size of the Captivate. I was thinking of going to BB and getting them to price match the AT&T store, but my line still has a couple of months to go before it's eligible for an upgrade (because my dad used mine last year ... he swaps phones every 4 months since no one else ever gets a new phone until they're falling apart ... not that I'm bitter). But 2 other lines have upgrades (and the family is okay with me using one of them). The AT&T store was willing to do it that way, but will BB do that too?

Kies now just sits there saying Connecting to device, but will not connect.I have tried this several times and cannot get it to connect. Even tried restarting the phone and my computer.

My question is can I get some simple step by step method of returning my phone to stock so I can upgrade it? I know there are a ton of posts on this but some seem fragmented and people use explanations that seem to assume that the people reading them are at the same lever of understanding that they are. All I want do is return my phone to stock for update and then root is again in the easiest way possible without bricking my phone.

Question is, can I switch the renewed contract to another line on my family plan or the only way is to return the phone, cancel the renewal and resign for the 2 years on the second line?

I tried to send a text eariler and I got the message not sent error then I tried to make a phone call and it wouldent go through.. the call timer didn't even pop up. The odd thing is my internet works fine... I. Went back to factory settings via menu privacy reset and still no phone.

So here is my issue.I could swear that when I tapped on an email address for a contact inside Contacts, that a window would pop asking if I'd like to send a Gmail message or a Work Email message (these choices had the little Gmail and Work Email icons as well).About a day or two ago, this option no longer appears for me in Contacts. Instead, when tapping on an email address inside a contact, I am taken straight to the Welcome screen to setup up Moxier Mail, which I do not want to use.I would like to just use the native Gmail option. But now, it appears as though my Contact email addresses no longer connect to the option of sending via Gmail or Work Email
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to send an animated GIF as an mms. I have tried both going in and creating a new message, then attaching the gif file, as well as viewing the file in the gallery, then selecting send/messaging.
Neither will work. When I attach it, it says file type is not supported. When I try to send it from the gallery, it converts it to a still image. I am attaching the gif file in hopes that someone here is smarter than me.
After messing with the settings and tryna figure this out, I think I came to a conclusion. When I set the camera setting on the phone to 3.2MP and the Picture quality to Normal, I was able to send an MMS Picture message over the EDGE network. I started trying to figure this out when I download FXCamera and noticed that it would send an MMS over EDGE. So I went into the settings on that program. I noticed the smaller picture with less quality sent, and the better quality picture didnt send. And I waited, and waited, and waited and still nothing.
So I put on the Default Camera App. I had it set to Super Fine and 5MP. I could never send an MMS picture that way. Switched the settings....3.2MP and Picture quality to Fine, and Bam. The picture sent. Give it a shot, tell me how it works out for you.
Everything was OK yesterday but now I.can't send SMS! Any settings I can change to fix this?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have the Samsung Fascinate obviously but I'm annoyed with one Android feature. I managed to get only my contacts to sync what I want (not e-mails). However, when I send text messages, the message contacts seems to all the e-mail addresses I've previously sent e-mails to.
Is there any way to get rid of that? And why the heck isn't it the same as my contacts?
My wife and I decided to join the 21st Century so our grandchildren can text to us and we purchased two Samsung Galazy S4 on Verizon network These are our first smart phones. Neither phone is able to send or receive text messages. The phones spin for awhile and then finally displays a failure message. I read one suggestion to turn off WiFi but that didn't work. No other problems have been found so far.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks when I get a text message or email I get the regular notification but also another/different "icon" for the same message; so I end up with two icons in my notification bar. And the only way the "new" icon can be cleared from my notification bar is if I physically pull down the bar and press clear (even if I've read the message it stays there until I clear it). It's starting to drive me crazy...my ringtone even goes off twice. Anyone have an idea on why this is happening? I don't have any third party message apps installed.
