My phone keep losing it signal and it keep saying "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network"?
The problem just started this friday, im with t-mobile but im roaming on at&t towers... I haven't dropped the phone or damaged it in any kinda way...

Is anyone else not getting a mobile internet connection right now? This has happened before on Orange but it's different this time because my phone doesn't seem to be searching for a network to join (before in the settings it would say "searching" or something and be greyed out but not this time)
Hopefully it's just a network problem, rather than my phone
I've managed to fix it i think. It would seem something I installed (im thinking SwitchPro Widget) changed the APN name in the settings to orangeinternet_off.
Kies is complete crap. In fact, I wish I'd stuck with my iphone now because the Galaxy is not great. Heres the latest. If I set USB connection to Ask then when I connect to PC, it asks me. I select Samsung Kies. For some reason I then get a message in the status bar saying USB disabled. Run Kies connects OK. But heres the best bit, on my phone if I go into SD card and phone storage it says both internal and external SD card are not available. Disconnect no difference. Only way to get them back is to reboot the phone. Good news is that at least it works in mass storage mode.

I got a big problem cause every time i turn my phone into standby i loss my connection to internet and also i loss my mobile signal. after unlock my screen i have 2 enter my pin , i can only phone emergency. when i enter my pin, the phone reconnect and i got signal. i tried nearly every update, i flashed stock ROM and re-flashed cm10, nothing better.

After a reboot 3g returned. now this afternoon my 3g signal just dis appeared on its own. anyone else having the same issue? maybe my phone is finally dying.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have had my desire for about 3 weeks now on O2 contract, and have an annoying problem.I appear to lose signal intermittantly, and end up with a little grey 'x' by my bars. However, this then STAYS like this even when I am back in a normal area, sometimes for hours before I have even noticed that reception was lost.The only way that I have found to get reception back is to power off my phone and restart it.I have called o2, and the only advise they had for me was to remove the sim card and 'give it a little wipe',
View 6 Replies View RelatedLast night my phone decided it wanted to be annoying and started turning itself on and off on its own. This has caused me to lose my network signal.
So far, I have turned the phone off (had it powered down all night while I slept).
Removed the sim card.
Used the recovery options to clear the cache.
Simulated a battery pull.
Thus far, nothing has worked.
So, I'm reading all of this hubby about the iPhone losing signal when you hold it. Mr. Jobs says this is normal for all phones. I disagree. See my video for proof. /so glad I ditched the iPhone and ATT. You Tube - HTC EVO doesn't lose signal strength when you hold it!

I've read on these groups that you have to have an internet connection before starting the emulator. Since i'm connected to the internet 24/7 :) this is not the problem I've also read somewhere that you should try do disable all other network connections (which i've done) and the problem persists. View 2 Replies View RelatedSo last night i had my phone sitting on my dresser while i watched the dodger game about 2 hours later when i picked it up and attempted to check face book, it kept giving me error messages. Convinced that this was another stupid FB error i went to surf the web only to say I was not connected to a network. I looked at the top of my phone and i had 3 bars but next to there bars there was no 1x or EV signal just the bars. I went into my settings and un clicked the mobile network and then clicked it again and it worked This has happened to me about 4 or 5 times since i owned the hero since December. Anyone have any similar stories or explanations? Also sometimes it seems that when my phone is sleeping, i wont get text messages until i unlock it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days, I have been having occasional problems connecting to the internet when my signal is showing as full bars of 3G. It usually corrects itself when I reboot but then happens again after some time. This happens when using both the dolphin and skyfire browsers. Ive also not been able to use my Sprint hotspot for the past two days. My laptop and iPhone show as being connected to the EVO via wifi but are unable to access the internet through it. Anyone else having these problems?

I turn it on and with 15 seconds, it turns off. It will pair with my car but than disconnects when the bluetooth turns off. Took out the battery and that did not work. View 3 Replies View RelatedUnbranded, fully updated (2.1-update1), Desire. Three months old. No task killers installed. Just this past couple of days I've noticed it has not been showing the data connection symbol in the top bar, next to the signal strength bars. Try and connect to the internet or the market and get a 'failed' pop up window asking to either retry of cancel. Retry never works.
I go into settings > Wireless & Networks and disable Mobile Network, then enable it again and it flickers on then goes off again. Repeat this and it stays on for a while but always goes off again after about 20 minutes even though the Mobile Network is ticked green. Why is this happening? I'm missing emails because of this and it's a bit of a pain.
Okay this is starting to irk me, i've been trying to teather using PDA net through my stock USB cable, i plug in the cable the phone and computer reconize eachother i mount the cable through the notification bar, start PDA net, everything works great, i start watching a show on fox.com and get 15-20 minutes in when i get the usb device being disconnected tone, look over at the phone and it says preparing SD card as if i had unmounted it, if i try to unplug the usb and plug it back in it charges but i never get the notification to mount the cable again. I have to power off the phone and power back on to fix this. WTH is going on here, i know a lot of people were having issues getting the usb connection going but that appears to be fixed by removing and reseating the sd card, which i have done many times. I will have a perfect connection with the laptop and phone sitting still on a table when i randomly lose the connection and have to reset the phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMoment keeps losing evdo. Then the browser will timeout on all web pages. Email will not send or receive. Sometimes when this happens, I cannot text, or make a call. When it happens you can only see the up arrow on the left. Sprint store swapped it out for another Moment, and it did it in their parking lot. A few times after this happens I have to do a hard reset to get my email working again. Typing is slowing down on here as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having trouble staying connected to "Wi-Fi"? I am having 3 problems:
#1: For some reason, my phone will show the connection and 10-15 minutes later, the connection is gone. Nothing changed, the router is like 2-4 feet away and it is a "G" router.
#2: The other problem I am having with the Wi-Fi is the indicator will drop off of the notification bar, but when I go to the settings, the Wi-Fi is highlighted like it is connected, but there is NO connection stated under the Wi-Fi setting.
#3: The Wi-Fi will drop off of the notification bar and when I go to the settings the Wi-Fi indicator is highlighted indicating active, but again, nothing under the Wi-Fi stating what the connection is. So I choose the same connection it has been using and I connection will state it is out of range, when in fact it is 2-4 feet away, again, nothing changed. So I reset the router and it will try to obtain a connection, but says it is unsuccessful, however, the network states under the name that it is "Remembered". So I highlight the network and than I get a Disconnect. This is really becoming an irratating issue! It worked fine first 2 days and than bam, starts to go crazy. So is anyone else experiencing this issue?
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Vibrant that was running Android 2.1. I rooted the phone (successfully), and installed Slim Bean 4.2.2 plus Google apps. Everything was going smoothly and I was reinstalling apps and data when I noticed that I had no network phone connection. Slim Beam did not seem to recognize the sim, and I came up empty searching for networks. I removed the sim and put it in another phone, and everything was fine.
I decided to restore the previous android 2.1 (which I had backed up) using ClockWorkMod Recovery. I did restore, then reboot. Now the only thing I get is the initial screen ... Vibrant and Samsung in bold white letters. I have tried repeatedly to launch CWM Recovery, without success.
So I have juicedefender and I enable that at work to shut off my data for 50 minutes out of every hour. I disable the app when I return home so I can always be receiving data.
With that said, I will be texting my girlfriend, shut my screen off and the notification sound does not ring when she sends me a text. The only reason I know she sends me a text is because I will go to Gv on my laptop and see she sent me a msg.
I looked into my battery mode settings and it is setup to shut off data after 15 minutes of inactivity during non peak hours (midnight to 8am) and set to 60 mins or never for peak hours, however my phone was never inactive for that time period.
My question is, what else could be shutting my data on/off if juicedefender is disabled and my battery profile is set up correctly ( i even changed it to performance and i didnt hear the notification, yes the notification vol. is up)
Does anyone use Juice defender? I downloaded it the other day and first thought it was great, certainly improved my battery life, but after a while i noticed that i kept losing my data connection even with the screen switched on, and also as soon as i finish a phone call, i loose my data connection and it takes ages for it to reconnect! anyone else had experience of this, or does anyone know of a similar app i could try?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter updating to 2.1, I lose my data connection about once or twice a day. No visible notification but the EV symbol at the top of the screen will always be "lit up" w/ the upload/download arrows showing no activity. I always have to switch the airplane mode on for a second and turn it back off. I have bluetooth automatically connect to my car when I'm in it and don't know if that's what is causing it? Anyone else having this issue and finding a cure? I updated PRL as well as firmware, but no luck.

I try turning it off and on but that makes no difference, I have to turn the phone off completely in order for it to come back. Quite often after I do this I have a text message appear (usually says it is a few days old) from 'Anonymous'. The messages are blank.
Any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it?
I first noticed this maybe late last week where my phone would appear to have data (bars and the 3g/4g symbol) but not actually being able to connect to things. I'd enable and disable airplane mode to reset things and it would work for awhile.
Yesterday, I contacted Sprint about this because it is fairly annoying. While paying closer attention, I started noticing that my data worked with 4G but would not with 3G. In Settings -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks - > Network Mode: I changed it from LTE/CDMA to CDMA. When the phone rebooted, I was on 3G and the data worked. When I changed it back to LTE/CDMA 4G would work but 3G would not. I've also tried Automatic and 4G works but 3G does not. Needless to say, I spent an hour with customer support and their best solution was to just leave it in CDMA mode. When I complained that I'd lose my 4G service, the tech asked for my zip code and after a moment told me 4G was unavailable in my area. I've been using it for more than 6 months, was using it today, and have seen the sensorly maps showing 4G availability......
It definitely seems like a phone issue over a network issue because the 3G network is clearly working if I can use it when I've disabled LTE. The most annoying/frustrating issue is that the phone claims to have 3G but nothing works.

anyone else having this problem? using 2.1 under caulkin's kernel. it seems like I can kind of overload the phone doing too much and the mobile network connection on my phone will disappear completely. this is while downloading something that may download too fast, sometimes it happens loading .GIF images too. I'll have to restart the phone to get the internet back. this happens no matter if I'm using wireless, USB or bluetooth tethering.

I would like to know if an Android application can open a network connection (socket) on a specified network interface [on a device supporting multiple network interface types WiFi, Cellular, WiMax etc] ? I am looking for the capability for an application to open a socket on a given type of network for example over WiFi network or over 3G Cellular Data network.
If this is possible in Android, how would I code this requirement within the API Framework ? The ConnectivityManager enables an application to learn about available network connections and currently categorises them as either TYPE_WIFI or TYPE_MOBILE.
There is a member function in the ConnectivityManager class called requestRouteToHost(int,int) [url] which "Ensure that a network route exists to deliver traffic to the specified host via the specified network interface. An attempt to add a route that already exists is ignored, but treated as successful." Sounds like this would install an IP routing table entry to reach a given host via a specified network interface type (WiFi or Mobile). After calling this would it be sufficient for an application to open a socket and connect to the desired destination address ?
Or perhaps the application needs to bind() a socket to a local address of a network interface of the desired type (WiFi or Mobile) Or by setting a socket-level socket option of SO_DONTROUTE ?
