Upgraded to ICS on my Nexus S OTA yesterday. It was All right,for a while but after one reboot the gallery app doesn't show any pics or videos from sd card nor any of the music app recognize any music files from sd card.

Since I updated to Froyo when the official one was released for the UK my Gallery has been almost useless, it now sorts photos based on where they were taken which I don't want and it doesn't show any new photos/videos I take, possibly because the phone saves them to the external SD card now instead of the internal one. Is there anyway to fix this? I've looked everywhere for some gallery settings but I can't find anything, to change the sorting etc.. Or can anyone recommend a half decent gallery app? I just want something that shows the recent photos I've taken...

Attempting to put SD card in other phones = same result.
So trying to get it to connect to a computer. Yes, the adapter that I have supports SDHC cards.
Trying to run command prompt and it's not seeing the pathway to the drive (F.
Here's what's interesting to me...If I go START>COMPUTER>RIGHT CLICK>MANAGE>COMPUTER MANAGEMENT>DISK MANAGEMENT...IF I have the SD card connected to the computer, then that box freezes right there and stops responding...If I disconnect the SD card, box automatically pops up and shows the hard drives on the computer. Plug it back it, that box stops responding again.
Another intersting note...Now AUTOPLAY is attempting to pop up and run...it keeps running the bar back and forth like it's attempting to read, but then it just disappears. If I go to MY COMPUTER and look, I can see the F DRIVE there...but when I attempt to click on it...It just freezes that box as well, stops responding and I have to force close it.
With the AutoPlay kicking on and MY COMPUTER recognizing the F Drive, that leads me to believe that the card itself isn't 100% toast and recoverable...Has the controller module on the card gone out?
And FWIW, I have tried getting the card to read on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and OS-X...The AutoPlay that it's doing now is on an XP machine. Obviously, I can't attempt to salvage any files if I can't get the computer to atleast recognize (and continue to recognize) the card.
When I got my S4 I transferred pictures from my computer to the phone under pictures so that I can use them as my wallpaper. The album showed up in the gallery and all was well, but whenever I transfer new pictures into said folder, the pictures are not updated in the phone gallery. I deleted the album in my gallery and the pictures off my phone in hopes that all of the new pictures will show up if I transfer the pictures again from my computer to my phone. Now the album isn't even shown in the gallery. I've selected the option to show all content on the device but the album is still not showing.

Alot of my videos have the same beginning screen shot so to find the one I want I have to literally watch them to figure it out. There has to be a way to show the names without having to go through My Files > media > videos. I want to know what the names are when I go to view them

However some of the pictures I sent to the computer from the phone are not on the phone when I go back to it later. Where are they? On the SD card i assume, but how do I view the card on the phone, not through the computer?
And the pictures, and videos actually, are not stored in the Album either. One other question, someone in the forum said they use ATK sparingly. Any reason for using it sparingly, I think it is pretty good, but is it really?
I have I think a 16GB Micro SD card. But I can't seem to be able to use it. I can't save nothing on it, and when I installed this app Astro, a file manager, I still couldn't do nothing with it. My apps are saved to my phone, and the pictures I take with my phone and the videos are also saved into my phone. Only songs are saved into my SD card. Am I doing something wrong? or is the Micro SD card only made for songs, and not the pictures and the videos and the apps? I have an app to back up my information called m:IQ, and there it says I used up 46% phone memory, and only 2% of the Storage card. So can anybody tell me what's wrong exactly?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using GO lancher , today i buy new Sd card 32 gb class 10 , my old one was 16 gb class 10 , when move all files from old card to new one i put it to phone and turn it on , and i notice applications on Sd Card not showing up and in lancher ther places is empty , i try to refresh lancher , to mount - unmound , clear cache , remove battery for 15 min , still cant back my applications.

Also when I select to edit a contacts photo to select a photo to put in it the gallery comes up empty with no photos in it. I close it and open again and they all appear. I have had this issue with the original microSD card and a new 16GB card. Is this a common problem or is this just my phone?
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo I have the nexus 3D gallery app installed on my 2.1 Eris. It works fine other than it refuses to generate thumbnails sometimes. They just show up as grey boxes. Once it finally does generate the thumbnails, it's fine, but sometimes they just won't generate. For example, I took some pics this past Sunday and the thumbnails are still just showing up as grey boxes. It takes several cycles of closing gallery, opening gallery, closing, opening, etc. etc. to get it to finally generate all the thumbnails, then they're fine. Oh, and sometimes they don't show up at all. Seems this app is very buggy on the Eris.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis morning when i woke up..all my contacts were gone for whatever reason..i thought to myself sigh no buggy..ill just re-sync my FB contacts and import my other #s from my old sim card..the FB contacts worked but when i try to import the #s from my Sim card it says "successfully imported" but the Contacts don't show up!! Mind u Ive done this several times before and its worked. Idk why they're not showing up now.

One of my main queries is though, file transfer from my Galaxy to my MacBook Pro - why can't I see previews of what I'm transferring? I have to transfer the file to my MacBook, and then decide if I want to keep it or not because that's the only way it'll reveal what it is. I thought I'd be able to SEE what's on my phone to then be able to select what I want to transfer. But all I see are file names which as you know are always just like IMG_0000786597.jpg
I recently used the USB to charge my phone on the laptop.Next time i went to look in my gallery most of my pics and videos are gone. i also can't find a folder on my computer that contains them. are they gone forever or is there a way to retrieve them?

I woke today to find my Galaxy Nexus in a reboot loop. I went to bed last night and it was working fine but now it just constantly rebooting. Maybe some app auto-updated over night?
I have 4.0.2 ICL53F currently loaded, updated it about two months ago.I recently loaded CWM recovery.
I recently bought a new spacious SD card for my new phone and decided to move all my files there. I was having trouble with the apps so I found out FolderMount could be useful. I rooted my device without any problems and checked it too before using FolderMount. However when I opened FolderMount it said it needed to patch/repair something so I hit OK. After that it said You can reboot your device now. so I did. After that my device starts and stands still after the samsung logo is shown. I wouldn't call it freeze because I can see it's still working (the background of the samsung logo gets a blue gradient every second) but I'm beginning to worry about it since it has been in that state for like more than an hour. Rebooting wont work.
