So I have juicedefender and I enable that at work to shut off my data for 50 minutes out of every hour. I disable the app when I return home so I can always be receiving data.
With that said, I will be texting my girlfriend, shut my screen off and the notification sound does not ring when she sends me a text. The only reason I know she sends me a text is because I will go to Gv on my laptop and see she sent me a msg.
I looked into my battery mode settings and it is setup to shut off data after 15 minutes of inactivity during non peak hours (midnight to 8am) and set to 60 mins or never for peak hours, however my phone was never inactive for that time period.
My question is, what else could be shutting my data on/off if juicedefender is disabled and my battery profile is set up correctly ( i even changed it to performance and i didnt hear the notification, yes the notification vol. is up)
I got a new Droid (new verizon customer) last Friday. Twice now I have lost 3G downsignal only (which effectively means no data connection). To be clear, I still have the 3G signal icon on my phone, and all my apps are uploading data (according to the icon) however no data is being sent back down. I've tried waiting 10 minutes and tried going in and out of airplane mode (3G icon does come back after leaving airplane mode) however I still don't have downstream connection, only upstream.
The only way I have fixed this is to reboot the phone, which sucks. Has anyone had this issue? I'm not sure i'll be able to get a replacement (even with insurance) unless I can reproduce it in front of Verizon reps, so I'm not sure what I should do about it.
Unbranded, fully updated (2.1-update1), Desire. Three months old. No task killers installed. Just this past couple of days I've noticed it has not been showing the data connection symbol in the top bar, next to the signal strength bars. Try and connect to the internet or the market and get a 'failed' pop up window asking to either retry of cancel. Retry never works.
I go into settings > Wireless & Networks and disable Mobile Network, then enable it again and it flickers on then goes off again. Repeat this and it stays on for a while but always goes off again after about 20 minutes even though the Mobile Network is ticked green. Why is this happening? I'm missing emails because of this and it's a bit of a pain.
Moment keeps losing evdo. Then the browser will timeout on all web pages. Email will not send or receive. Sometimes when this happens, I cannot text, or make a call. When it happens you can only see the up arrow on the left. Sprint store swapped it out for another Moment, and it did it in their parking lot. A few times after this happens I have to do a hard reset to get my email working again. Typing is slowing down on here as well.
View 49 Replies View Relatedseemingly for no reason. running fresh 2.3.3, and whatever stock kernels/overclockers or whatever, come with it) i've searched on here but havent really found the answer.it seems about 50% of the time when i go to either the browser or maps (or something that uses GPS), i'll find no connection. toggling airplane mode seems to remedy data connection, but i usu have to reboot to bring GPS back up. anyone else having these issues?

I downloaded it the other day and first thought it was great, certainly improved my battery life, but after a while i noticed that i kept losing my data connection even with the screen switched on, and also as soon as i finish a phone call, i loose my data connection and it takes ages for it to reconnect! anyone else had experience of this, or does anyone know of a similar app i could try?

No visible notification but the EV symbol at the top of the screen will always be "lit up" w/ the upload/download arrows showing no activity. I always have to switch the airplane mode on for a second and turn it back off. I have bluetooth automatically connect to my car when I'm in it and don't know if that's what is causing it? Anyone else having this issue and finding a cure? I updated PRL as well as firmware, but no luck.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI first noticed this maybe late last week where my phone would appear to have data (bars and the 3g/4g symbol) but not actually being able to connect to things. I'd enable and disable airplane mode to reset things and it would work for awhile.
Yesterday, I contacted Sprint about this because it is fairly annoying. While paying closer attention, I started noticing that my data worked with 4G but would not with 3G. In Settings -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks - > Network Mode: I changed it from LTE/CDMA to CDMA. When the phone rebooted, I was on 3G and the data worked. When I changed it back to LTE/CDMA 4G would work but 3G would not. I've also tried Automatic and 4G works but 3G does not. Needless to say, I spent an hour with customer support and their best solution was to just leave it in CDMA mode. When I complained that I'd lose my 4G service, the tech asked for my zip code and after a moment told me 4G was unavailable in my area. I've been using it for more than 6 months, was using it today, and have seen the sensorly maps showing 4G availability......
It definitely seems like a phone issue over a network issue because the 3G network is clearly working if I can use it when I've disabled LTE. The most annoying/frustrating issue is that the phone claims to have 3G but nothing works.

Most of the time the data connection works fine. But if I go into an area with no cell phone reception for a little while, once I come out into a full-bars area where data normally works, my data connection never resumes. Once that happens, I can make calls just fine, but can't use the internet/market/etc. The only thing that solves this problem is to go to network settings, enable 2G networks only, then turn that setting off. That is a huge pain, obviously. Has anyone else had this problem? This was happening with my old SIM, so I had T-mobile give me a brand new one, but it is still happening.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to unroot my phone without losing data? i know exactly how to root and get it back to stock, but i realize this deletes all my apps. i know i can just redownload them from the market, but i dont want to go through all the trouble of setting all mynotification settings for like handcent, and locale, and stuff like that. is there update.zip that allows me to go back to nonroote 2.0.1 and have it appear just the way it was before i rooted? (with my apps and all my stuff still on it?)

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I rooted my Moto Droid a few months back. Running 2.1 and all seemed well. I decided to trade it on Craigs List a couple of weeks ago. Before the exchange I did a factory reset. The guy I traded it to seemed honest and certainly didn't know much about hacking on the phone. Anyhow he told me he couldn't get a data connection (wifi did work though). He took it to a Verizon store and naturally they said it had been hacked and that was the problem.I traded him back (Palm Pre sucked anyway). I figured I could just get it back up and running. But I'm definitely only getting wifi connection. Market will NOT log me in no matter what.Any suggestions? Is the phone now dead?
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while I notice that there is no indication for 3G or 1x, not that I don't have reception, it just isn't turned on for some reason. It will fix itself if I reboot my phone, or turn it to airplane mode and then back to normal. Does anyone else experience this? Honestly it isn't annoying enough to replace my phone, just weird.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I recently rooted my phone and switched to the Kangerade 1.1 rom running a chevy kernel. I pretty much have no issues EXCEPT for the fact that maps wont function unless I am on wifi. Once I am using 3g I just get data connection lost, and then it loops....I am using version 4.3 of maps, my wife's phone is also rooted with kangerade using a p3 kernel but with maps 4.2 and she gets the same results.

It usually corrects itself when I reboot but then happens again after some time. This happens when using both the dolphin and skyfire browsers. Ive also not been able to use my Sprint hotspot for the past two days. My laptop and iPhone show as being connected to the EVO via wifi but are unable to access the internet through it. Anyone else having these problems?

I turn it on and with 15 seconds, it turns off. It will pair with my car but than disconnects when the bluetooth turns off. Took out the battery and that did not work. View 3 Replies View RelatedOkay this is starting to irk me, i've been trying to teather using PDA net through my stock USB cable, i plug in the cable the phone and computer reconize eachother i mount the cable through the notification bar, start PDA net, everything works great, i start watching a show on fox.com and get 15-20 minutes in when i get the usb device being disconnected tone, look over at the phone and it says preparing SD card as if i had unmounted it, if i try to unplug the usb and plug it back in it charges but i never get the notification to mount the cable again. I have to power off the phone and power back on to fix this. WTH is going on here, i know a lot of people were having issues getting the usb connection going but that appears to be fixed by removing and reseating the sd card, which i have done many times. I will have a perfect connection with the laptop and phone sitting still on a table when i randomly lose the connection and have to reset the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else having trouble staying connected to "Wi-Fi"? I am having 3 problems:
#1: For some reason, my phone will show the connection and 10-15 minutes later, the connection is gone. Nothing changed, the router is like 2-4 feet away and it is a "G" router.
#2: The other problem I am having with the Wi-Fi is the indicator will drop off of the notification bar, but when I go to the settings, the Wi-Fi is highlighted like it is connected, but there is NO connection stated under the Wi-Fi setting.
#3: The Wi-Fi will drop off of the notification bar and when I go to the settings the Wi-Fi indicator is highlighted indicating active, but again, nothing under the Wi-Fi stating what the connection is. So I choose the same connection it has been using and I connection will state it is out of range, when in fact it is 2-4 feet away, again, nothing changed. So I reset the router and it will try to obtain a connection, but says it is unsuccessful, however, the network states under the name that it is "Remembered". So I highlight the network and than I get a Disconnect. This is really becoming an irratating issue! It worked fine first 2 days and than bam, starts to go crazy. So is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Kies is complete crap. In fact, I wish I'd stuck with my iphone now because the Galaxy is not great. Heres the latest. If I set USB connection to Ask then when I connect to PC, it asks me. I select Samsung Kies. For some reason I then get a message in the status bar saying USB disabled. Run Kies connects OK. But heres the best bit, on my phone if I go into SD card and phone storage it says both internal and external SD card are not available. Disconnect no difference. Only way to get them back is to reboot the phone. Good news is that at least it works in mass storage mode.

I try turning it off and on but that makes no difference, I have to turn the phone off completely in order for it to come back. Quite often after I do this I have a text message appear (usually says it is a few days old) from 'Anonymous'. The messages are blank.
Any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it?
anyone else having this problem? using 2.1 under caulkin's kernel. it seems like I can kind of overload the phone doing too much and the mobile network connection on my phone will disappear completely. this is while downloading something that may download too fast, sometimes it happens loading .GIF images too. I'll have to restart the phone to get the internet back. this happens no matter if I'm using wireless, USB or bluetooth tethering.
