Nexus :: Htc Sync Doesn't Recognise Nexus One
May 6, 2010for the last two days ive been trying everything i can think off to sync my laptop and phone.i have windows 7 64bit,ive installed the drivers successfully and can read/write to the sd card but cannot sync contacts via htc sync.it only ever tells me "disconnected" last week i could sync with a htc desire with no problems,please can some one help me from tearing my hair out.yes ive tried ticking usb debugging.

May 15, 2010I recently bought a rooted N1 off of ebay. I plugged my SIM in and everything worked fine all day yesterday. I went to sleep on my bed, with the N1 in my pocket, and when I woke up the phone was indicating that there was no SIM card in the phone. I rebooted the phone, and factory reset it, yet it still indicated that there was no SIM inside the phone. I put my SIM card in my wife's iPhone and the phone worked fine.
1) Could sleeping with it in my pocket have done this?
2) Did I just buy a dud off of Ebay? And if so, how is this possible because it worked all day yesterday?
Android :: Implementing Sync Adapter / Sync Icon Wont Disappear
Oct 18, 2010I'm implementing my own sync adapter and everything works great. A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.

Does Google REALLY not have easy to setup software that does this for Nexus One owners? Whoever at HTC or Google thought it would be great to put the MicroSD behind the phones battery should be freakin fired.

Aug 3, 2010So I noticed that my battery icon is showing nearly a solid green battery, just slightly below it (a thin sliver of black). I've been on the phone for over an hour, played some games, got some e-mails etc and was wondering why it hasn't moved because before (had the phone since the beginning of May) it always seems to drop pretty accurately based on my usage (granted it's just observation, never studied it or anything). I went to settings - about phone - battery - and saw that I'm actually at 70%...but yet the icon hasn't moved down. Played a game for about 3 minutes and checked again, and the green icon now accurately shows what a 70% battery life should look like. Does anybody else know if their icon doesn't accurately represent their usage? Is this nothing to worry about? haha just concerned it will lag more and more with time or something...

It'll show the correct temp, for example, right now it's 66* but it's showing a bright sun saying 'clear', umm it's clear, but there is NO sun in sight lol. May 21, 2010My nexus one recently doesn't show the 3g icon next to the bars. I don't believe it lost the 3g signal, as I can see 3 bars in there and when I force 2G it goes to 4bars with the 'E' symbol. It just doesn't seem to get 3g data, i believe. I can call and text, but when I try to access the net it says site not found. Could somebody explain why this is? I have T-Mobile in midtown atlanta.

Jan 26, 2010I can't get adb to see my Nexus on XP-64.That is, when I run "adb devices" it lists only the open emulators and not the Nexus. Likewise, Eclipse does not show the Nexus as an available deployment target.Yes, I have the latest USB driver for Nexus.The driver appears to have installed correctly.The device manager shows "Android phone Composite Android Interface", as expected.And yes, USB debugging is turned on on the Nexus.My Windows 7 Netbook does not have this problem but I need to use the XP-64 system for development.

Sep 9, 2010When I call someone and I'm in a private environment, I like to hit the top left loudspeaker icon at once so that I can do other stuff with both my hands until the other end answers. But with the Sony Ericsson Xperia, the loudspeaker icon doesn't appear until the conversation has started. Which means first that I have to hold the phone next to my ear until the other end answers, and second that the screen has gone black, and if I still want to use the loudspeaker I have to tilt it or press a button or something (which always feels like it takes forever) to wake it up so that I can access the loudspeaker icon.Can you make the loudspeaker icon appear at once the phone number has been called, instead of .wait for connection.wait while ringing.go black.still wait for some more ringing.screen is black, tilt, tilt, furiously click wildly at screen,Btw, can you also make the phone wake up faster while during a conversation.I have a small problem with it going black when I am calling centers with automated answering where I need access to the numbers to enter selections in the automated menu.

Jan 22, 2010Don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but my alarm doesn't seem to go off when I have it set to a specific schedule, like monday, wednesday, friday. It went off for monday and ever since then, I just woke up late for my classes because it doesn't go off. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if there is a fix for it? I mean the right alarm time even shows up when I hit the lock screen but it doesn't actually go off

Feb 3, 2013I'm trying out both the Galaxy S3 and the LG Nexus 4 on AT&T.
When I was using the S3, I just inserted my SIM card and I was good to go. I like to use the Speedtest app when I'm out and about to see what speeds I'm getting, and the app worked just fine on the S3.
Last week, I got the LG Nexus 4 and inserted the SIM card and was also up and running. However, the Speedtest app does not work out in the field. It works just fine on my WiFi network but, when I try it outside, it just gives a large ping number and then does nothing. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Speedtest app, but still nothing.

HTC Incredible :: Constant Sync Icon
Nov 6, 2010I've been having a problem for the past few weeks with my Incredible being in a constant state of sync. I can tell this by the sync icon spinning around and around in the bar up top. There's a rouge app calling for sync somewhere, how can I find it? I've already tried to obvious method of going into settings > accounts and sync and disabling literally everything in there. Facebook, Weather, Google, everything is turned off. Another app somewhere is using sync. The only way to get it to stop is to hit the cancel sync button on that page and then it goes away for a few hours and then it comes right back. I'm sure this is a huge battery suck. Is there an app that monitors other app usage with sync or something?

Sep 23, 2010I just went from 2.2 leak to 2.1 and then to OTA 2.2.
When I got to 2.2 OTA, I did Titanium "restore all apps with data" (not the option with "all system data").
Now, I have a sync icon in my notification bar that won't go away.
In settings->accounts, I have no accounts at all set to sync (I even unchecked my google contacts and calendar).
I already did one system format (because the first time I restored with titanium I restored system data too and saw in some other threads that could be a cause). After the system restore, but before titanium, I wasn't getting the sync icon.
I can't not use titanium to restore or it'd be a huge task to get things back to the way they were.
Nexus :: Flash Doesn't Work On Dolphin HD Browser
Jul 4, 2010I've been using the stock browser and it's been playing flash content fine. I just installed Dolphin HD browser but for some reason it's not loading any flash content on any site. Anyone have any ideas why not? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting as well. I'm out of ideas. The stock browser still works though. I'm on FRF91, non-rooted.

Jul 8, 2010I'm having problems with my phone's bluetooth. Pairing is successful, but sending any sized file fails instantly. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but the first time i tried it, it was successful - at least partially. I was half way through sending a 250MB file to the phone when it got interrupted (can't remember how, i might have accidentally disabled bt part way through). Since then, all attempts fail sending to, and from phone.

Aug 18, 2013So, my issue is that I simply cannot unlock the bootloader of my Nexus S (i9020T). The phone's connecting to my computer via Samsung Android ADB Interface as seen under the Device Manager. I see the proper device ID when I type "fastboot devices" into the adb command prompt. Then, when I type "fastboot oem unlock" the phone starts the unlock verification process -- I select yes, the phone restarts, but it goes back to the stuck Google screen. Then, if I pull the battery and go into fastboot mode directly, bootloader's still locked. I've tried this quite a few times and same result -- same result trying to unlock w/ toolkits like WugFresh's NRT.
I've also tried to solve it w/ all versions of Odin. None of them detect my phone even after installing Kies w/ drivers. I think I have the required drivers though since I can command the phone fine through adb. And Odin should need bootloader unlocked to work anyway so it won't work if bootloader cannot unlock.... I've even tried a few other things like pushing recovery and bootloader images onto the phone via adb, but these also failed due to the locked bootloader. All options seem to require an unlocked bootloader.
I also cannot enable USB debugging under phone settings either b/c I now can't get past the Google logo/fastboot mode menu. I don't think this is required to unlock bootloader through adb though.
Background: Phone had the latest auto updated version of Android when the phone all of a sudden turned off in the middle of the night recently. Weird b/c the battery was basically full. It now always gets stuck on the Google logo upon normal restart. It goes into fastboot mode OK if I remove the battery and press power/vol. buttons -- I then first tried the restore and recovery functions there, etc, but no effect.
To add, one of the first things I tried was to do a manual factory data reset in the recovery menu (selecting 'yes' to erase all data).
And I tried adb sideload of the OTA .zip file. But installation was aborted. The following appeared immediately under the regular adb sideload instruction in the system recovery menu (under "Now send the package you want to apply to the device..."):
