I bought a Nexus One second hand off eBay but it seems to be broken. I plug it into the wall with a battery, orange/green led. In wall without battery, orange/green led. Off wall with battery, orange/green led. How can I fix it? I have tried entering recovery mode but just isn't working. Battery has been charging all day. I have never had an android or nexus so don't really understand whether this is an abnormal behavior,

I had to remove my sim card, which means that I had to remove my battery. After doing so, I put my sim card back in, followed by the battery, and after pushing the power button, the battery indicator started flashing green and orange.
The screen isn't turning on, and absolutely nothing is happening.
I've been pouring over google trying to find a solution, but haven't found any that worked.
One suggestion suggested that I hold the power button for 10-15 seconds, then plug it into power, then add battery. This did not work.
Another suggested the opposite- hold power for 10-15 seconds, add battery, then add power cord, still no luck.
I freaking love this phone. I really, really, really want to fix it. If there are any, ANY suggestions as to what I could do to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. I tried to call HTC for support, but, wouldn't you know it, couldn't get to a phone before EXACTLY one minute before they closed.
On my end, I'm HOT AS HELL. Today has become official the hottest day in Los Angeles on record, breaking 112 degrees in downtown LA. I had an errand to run on my lunch break, so I ventured out into the heat and, while in line at the drive thru to get lunch before heading back, I noticed the LED on my EVO slowly blinking orange, then yellow. I looked, and the phone was no longer charging, even though it was plugged in.
Looking at SystemPanel, my battery was at 118.5 degrees, and it felt a bit hot, but not too much so. Upon returning to my office, the phone is now plugged in and the LED is a solid orange. Was the alternating blinking LED telling me my phone was overheated? If so, have I damaged my phone? It seems to run fine, thankfully.
When I plug the phone in, it begins to start flashing back and forth between green and orange. The phone also will not take a charge. USB is fine, as I can still communicate with the phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using satnav at the weekend; the battery level indicator on my Desire went from green to orange (20%) and the existent data connection dropped off straightaway. I was unable to re-establish a data connection even after switching the phone off and on again. I was in an area of reasonable/good network signal strength. The GPS continued to function however so I could still see my progress on the map but a data connection message appeared.
When I got home the phone continued to function on WiFi (with GPS on too) for nearly another two hours before it turned itself off, so there was plenty of "juice" left. My question is as to whether there is anything I can adjust to ensure that the battery continues to function fully (ie maintain a data connection) until it runs out? Or whether at 20% the phone is somehow set up to end a data connection? I have now got myself an HTC car charger to make sure the battery will not drop that low again when I am using satnav.

I suspect this means Im using more juice than Im gaining because my battery was losing power. It also heated up more than usual. Returned to normal once I left it alone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to load amonRA's recovery for my nexus one. I've managed to unlock the bootloader, and gain SU permissions. But for the life of me,I cant seem to flash the new recovery image. I've used better terminal, and it says that theres no flash image found. But I have Put it on SD Card. I've copied the text correctly and I cant get it to flash. I've also tried to downgrade the radio to get better reception, and its saying that the update isn't signed. Is there something still locked up?

* I got the source code from the Code Aurora website
* I made a guess which branch is the stable branch I need, because I found no mention of it anywhere (I took "kk_2.7-stable", where kk means kitkat)
* On a Debian 7 stable machine, I installed a GCC cross compiler from Deb packages built using Emdebian tools
* I made a guess which target to compile, because the exact chip name didn't have its own: I use msm8960
* I created some symlinks to the cross-building tools because the makefile and the debian cross-building tool names are different
* I ran 'make msm8960' and the build was successful (I also tried earlier with NDK prebuilt GCC but it failed)
* I got a bunch of files with no idea what to do with them
* I attached the device to the computer and re-flashed the stock bootloader to make sure it works
* I checked the fastboot screen: Bootloader unlocked, secure boot is on
* I tried flashing the 'lk' binary file I got from the build process, but fastboot says:
sending 'bootloader' (1702 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.239s]
writing 'bootloader'...
FAILED (remote: invalid bootloader image
)
The size of the file is much smaller than the size of the stock bootloader, but I don't know if it matters or what exactly I need to flash. I did a lot of web search, including here on XDA, but found no evidence of struggling with flashing the bootloader.
How do I flash the bootloader after I build it?

I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it (it all worked as far as I can tell) but whenever I try and flash a new ROM onto the phone I get the error E: no signature E: verification failed I have tried many different ROMs from Cyanogen mod and just a standard Nexus One ROM, but I've had no luck in getting this to work. Plus, when I just return to the original state, my WiFi is out of commission and as an AT&T subscriber (I have two lines so it's not the end of the world), I rely heavily on WiFi for my nexus.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLast week, I flashed my LG Nexus 4 (16GB) phone with stock Android 4.4 (Official Image), before that I was on CyanogenMod 10.1.3 Stable.
Now, for some reason I didn't like the stock 4.4 and tried to Flash back my CyanogenMod 10.1.3 from CWM "Install ZIP" but the problem I'm facing is that it CyanogenMod doesn't boot, hangs on "Spiral Splash Screen". Then I tried Flashing CM 10.0 stable, still loops into boot forever and at times boots (after 15-20 minutes of booting on spiral splash screen) and doesn't recognise SIM card, Camera, Storage, WIFI or anything.
Then after getting fed up with this I tried flashing MIUI V5. This also takes a 15-20 to boot and fails to recognise - SIM, WiFi, Camera etc.
So lastly like a loser I flashed back my Android 4.4 it works fine.
I've my boot-loader in unlocked state.
and Yes before flashing CM or MIUI, I did - wipe data/factory, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache from CWM Recovery.
So I want to get back into CyanogenMod 10.1 stable.
I've done a search but I can't find a definitive answer.I got the unlock code but it just stays on the unlocking sim screen as per buggy Orange ROM.I don't have an Orange SIM though so is it possible to unlock it without this or will I have to source a SIM?

When you dial a number, it's much closer and faster to tap the shown name, or to tap the on-screen "call" (if you don't have the number in people app) then to go all the way to a physical button. When you're answering a call, you mostly swipe the on-screen lock bar to answer. At least I do. So, the only usage of "the green key" for me, is when I'm sending MMI codes (checking data plan). What about you?

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I went from leak 2.1 v2 to v3 last night and then did a factory reset. And this morning I've noticed a green LED that is now on inside the ear piece. This is not the LED notification light. This is underneath the ear piece mesh. I've never noticed that before. Has it always been there, and I was just not observant enough? Anyone know what it's purpose is? I couldn't find anything on it elsewhere in the forum.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIve got my HTC Hero, and you know, it was great. But.. When i turned it on for the first time(and all other times) there were a kind of ''dots'' on the screen. It look a bit like the picture down there(this is just made in Paint, but it really looked like that)
Then i went to the place where i bought it(called 'Telia', a kind of Orange, just in Denmark) and they gave me a new one. But.. The same problem, just a little few(er?) dots.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust the other day I noticed that all of the sudden when I select an app to start from my home screen or other side screens it looks different. Normally when you select an app, a green box appears around the selected app and then disappears when it starts. Now the square has become an ugly rectangle. It looks like a return has been inserted or something. Now selecting an app places a massive green space below the app icon.Anyone else come across this issue? Is this just another bug that 1.6, 2.0 and now 2.1 were supposed to fix with me stuck on 1.5 thanks to the morons at Sprint?
