Nexus :: Flashing New Recovery Image?
Apr 30, 2010I've been trying to load amonRA's recovery for my nexus one. I've managed to unlock the bootloader, and gain SU permissions. But for the life of me,I cant seem to flash the new recovery image. I've used better terminal, and it says that theres no flash image found. But I have Put it on SD Card. I've copied the text correctly and I cant get it to flash. I've also tried to downgrade the radio to get better reception, and its saying that the update isn't signed. Is there something still locked up?

Mar 20, 2010Damn, I cannot remember the commands & neither can I find them on Cyanogen's forum anymore Can somebody let me know the commands needed to install a new radio image file from the computer onto the phone, or point me towards a thread via hyperlink?I have got as far as putting the file "radio.img" into the Superboot folder of my computer & run the required commands to make sure the computer can detect the phone (fastboot-windows devices) but just cannot get any further.

Nov 3, 2010I'm constantly flashing new ROM's my end to try and find one that suits. As I'm sure you're all aware, most of them say "Use this Radio for best results". I've stuck with a previously flashed radio for the last few ROM's. I'm about to flash Defrost 6.0. The literature surrounding the ROM says to use a specific Radio to get the camera to work.
My hesitation is this - I've read that trying to flash the same radio version as the one you already have flashed can brick the phone? Is this true? If so, how do I find out which radio version I have?
HTC EVO 4G :: Flashing Radio / WiMax Updates?
Jul 19, 2010Does doing a clean wipe for a ROM install erase any previous radio / wimax updates? I switched from Fresh 1.0 to Backed Snack but did a radio and wimax updates with Fresh. Should I re-apply those updates after flashing the Baked Snack ROM or are they still updated from the Fresh 1.0 ROM?

Aug 23, 2010I'm running Skyraider 2.5.2 Sense, rooted, unrevoked 3, unrevoked forever, titanium backup, gained S-OFF and am trying to flash the radio 2.15 so at least my camcorder will work.
I've tried:
-Hboot > recovery > install file from zip >PB31IMG
-Hboot > recovery > apply: update.zip
-rom manager > Install rom from SD card
-rename PB31IMG update.zip >Hboot >recovery > apply:update.zip
Not to mention a few other variations. Do I need to restore from backup, then flash my radio, and then apply the new ROM?
General :: Old Radio Still Showing After Flashing New One?

When I boot into bootloader, it is still showing as the previous radio (26.03.02.26_M)
HTC EVO 4G :: Flashing New Radio Files Really Make Any Difference
Sep 30, 2010I have a rooted evo running fresh 3.3.3.1 and so far I love it. I used unrevoked 3.21 to do this. My question is does flashing new radio files and pellet files actually increase and or decrease how well the radio works on the phone. I noticed hat once I installed wireless tether that my WiFi signal seems to go down 1 or 2 bars when the laptop is not even 10 feet away. Is thus normal. Anyway I'm very knew to the whole flashing of radio files and just wanted to hear if it does anything or not.

May 26, 2010Been running Fresh 2.1.1 for about a week now and it seems pretty good. But with 2.1.2 just out I'm planning on flashing that as soon as possible. I've been running the stock radio and RA and wanted to get some feedback on weather it would be beneficial to update both the radio and RA to the newest versions available before I flash to 2.1.2. My awake time is at about 10% and cell standby is using 48% of my battery while phone idle is using 44%. Does this sound normal? If not would flashing a new radio and RA help resolve these issues?

Aug 20, 2010Question, obviously asked in several previous threads, but I'm unable to resolve the next issue at hand with that data. When I power on, and hit hboot, I'm still seeing S-On, yet if I log into abb shell, su, I get "#", as well as now having the icon for "Superuser Permissions". Used both unrEVOked3 and forever in this process.
I've attempted to install the radio update "PB31IMG.zip" via root of SD card. I'm able to see / install it, yet baseband is still showing 1.00.03.04.06. I have W7, and have the option to "Hide extensions for known file types" off (Can't stand not seeing exactly what files are what). What am I missing? I've seen that others have had to do the "*22899 then *228 option 2", yet If it doesn't show it as being a valid install, I'm hesitant to try and reinstall it.
General :: Flashing Radio ROM With Edify Scripting?
Sep 14, 2011My HTC Desire was on Gingerbread 2.3 and I then decided to root the phone with ClockWorkMod. I can flash any ROM fine but when I try to flash a radio it says 'Installation Aborted' and then tells me to use Edify Scripting?

Apr 20, 2010Just a few questions on flashing a new radio on a Sprint Hero, as I'd like to be sure I won't brick my phone and there really don't seem to be many guides on this.
Are certain radios only compatible with certain ROMs? If so, what do you do if you want to flash a new ROM afterwards? In the event a radio flash fails, can you attempt to flash a different one or is your phone pretty much bricked at that point?
I'll probably have more questions later, as the thought of bricking my new Hero is well, I'd really rather not have to go back to my old BlackBerry.

May 11, 2010With regard to phone calls dropping when on a nominal h/3g connection (as when I'm in the house I have a 3g/h reception 2 bars but when I pick the phone up it seems to drop out to g after a few seconds so if I answer a call on 3g/h a few seconds later the phone switches to g and disconnects me poor signal in the house I think but very annoying as I have to keep the phone on g only in the house and use WiFi for browsing at the moment)). I searched for some ROM radio files to flash to my rooted phone and found these 3 roms

Was wondering if anyone has looked into this and if there is anymore (possibly updated files) out there. At the moment I have downgraded to file 30.34 as this radio file seems to switch from g/3g/h the quickest and it's a bit more stable (still cutting to g connection once I've had the phone in my hand for a couple of seconds (think due to the receiver being in the bottom of the phone as someone else has reported), will check it's progress but all files give a similar reception.

May 28, 2010I have a rooted 2.1 eris and adb is all set up. I get all the way down to the commands and the last one:
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
says file not found. What am I doing wrong

Sep 16, 2010So I have looked around xda etc. Cant find a simple answer (hoping there is). So long story I am on a rooted Evo. I was trying to flash cm6 via rom manager. I kept getting error 7's. So I found the PC36IMG.zip followed the directions. I am now in bootloader. Tried (many times) to run nandroid. But it gives me the error while flashing boot image for all 3 backups.

Oct 11, 2010I just rolled back using simple root, and before I started flashing custom roms I wanted to flash Amon RA's recovery-RA-evo-v1.8.0.img. I've tried flashing through terminal emulator, and that didn't work. I also tried flashing through adb. I have confirmed that I have root, but it's telling me that there is no image found. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Apr 23, 2014I have LK bootloader source code which I need to build and flash to a Nexus 5 device.
* I got the source code from the Code Aurora website
* I made a guess which branch is the stable branch I need, because I found no mention of it anywhere (I took "kk_2.7-stable", where kk means kitkat)
* On a Debian 7 stable machine, I installed a GCC cross compiler from Deb packages built using Emdebian tools
* I made a guess which target to compile, because the exact chip name didn't have its own: I use msm8960
* I created some symlinks to the cross-building tools because the makefile and the debian cross-building tool names are different
* I ran 'make msm8960' and the build was successful (I also tried earlier with NDK prebuilt GCC but it failed)
* I got a bunch of files with no idea what to do with them
* I attached the device to the computer and re-flashed the stock bootloader to make sure it works
* I checked the fastboot screen: Bootloader unlocked, secure boot is on
* I tried flashing the 'lk' binary file I got from the build process, but fastboot says:
sending 'bootloader' (1702 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.239s]
writing 'bootloader'...
FAILED (remote: invalid bootloader image
)
The size of the file is much smaller than the size of the stock bootloader, but I don't know if it matters or what exactly I need to flash. I did a lot of web search, including here on XDA, but found no evidence of struggling with flashing the bootloader.
How do I flash the bootloader after I build it?

No matter which sim card I insert into this thing the radio still comes up with zero bars I've switched the roms around a few times and I'm currently downgrading to the PeterAlfonso's Bugless Beast with the custom kernel in hopes that maybe flashing these two things may have a positive effect on my issue.

Jun 15, 2010I rooted my phone a while back and I am trying to update the recovery image. I think the recovery image I have downloaded (recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2) has some extra options such as being able to flash the radio which is what I want to do. I have updated my rom to 2.1 by copying the image accross and naming it update.zip and booting into recovery and applying the update. That is fine and I am now running SenseHERO-2.1_signed-update. I have tried using flashrec but it fails with "cannot run command" and I think it is because I already have a patched recovery image. What is the best thing to do? Can I update my recovery image manually from the command line? Can I update the radio in the same way? Have I misunderstood the procedure?

Mar 9, 2010I've been struggling to get my Nexus One up and running with the Sense UI. I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it (it all worked as far as I can tell) but whenever I try and flash a new ROM onto the phone I get the error E: no signature E: verification failed I have tried many different ROMs from Cyanogen mod and just a standard Nexus One ROM, but I've had no luck in getting this to work. Plus, when I just return to the original state, my WiFi is out of commission and as an AT&T subscriber (I have two lines so it's not the end of the world), I rely heavily on WiFi for my nexus.

Nov 10, 2009I have already rooted my hero but I did not flash a recovery image or perform a nandroid back up mostly because I could not find clear instructions on how to do so, which caused me to have to completely wipe my phone and start over after I deleted some programs that caused my loop over and over. I know the commands I need to run in adb to flash the recovery image but I do not know where to download the recovery image or where I need to store it I also can't find anything on nandroid back could somone please explain these in detail with the steps I need to take so I don't need to start from square one again.
