I have Froyo and I installed the flash beta, and flash sites work but my browser will close itself within about 30 seconds. I uninstalled flash and I had no more problems, and then I tried installing it again and the problems came back.
Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, are there any solutions to this besides uninstalling flash?

I've been using the stock browser and it's been playing flash content fine. I just installed Dolphin HD browser but for some reason it's not loading any flash content on any site. Anyone have any ideas why not? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting as well. I'm out of ideas. The stock browser still works though. I'm on FRF91, non-rooted.

Not sure if this has been asked before (didn't see a thread on it, anyway), but I uninstalled Android's default browser (Browser.apk) after reading from this post that it was safe, as long as another browser was installed.Afterward, Dolphin and Opera seem to work fine (although I hate Opera, but that's another story). Skyfire, however, just comes up to a black screen, and doesn't do anything else until I decide to exit.Is Skyfire just an overlay of features onto the stock browser, or could something else have disabled it?Also, is there a place/way I can re-download/re-install the stock browser? I mean, I guess I could re-flash my ROM, but that seems a bit excessive.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI synced up with my computer after uninstalling unused apps and clearing the browser cache and a few others, just general clean up to keep the phone running smooth. After roaming around my sd card, I came across this. A total of 84 cache files totaling 3.24mb. What is this from and is it ok to delete them? I'm assuming it is since it is just cache, which you can delete any of theme xcept for google nav (force close issues).

This is all working as advertised. Is it possible to close the browser after I've navigated back to my app via the redirect? Perhaps a flag to set when starting the Intent that forces the browser to close or, at the very least, be removed from the stack so it's not visible when a user quits my application?

For the past few days, when I try to open a browser, it closes. I was using Dolphin HD, thought it was a bug with that app, so downloaded regular Dolphin. Same deal, so tried Skyfox then Opera and the stock browser. They all keep closing.
Is there anything I can do or should I just call it quits and get the Incredible?
My Galaxy S3 just started this weird behavior. When I close down the camera app, the flash goes off for about 2 seconds. Very annoying. Is there a way to fix this?
Flash is turned off inside the camera app. I have restarted Android, but no difference.
I can't figure this out. The only way I could stop the radio on Pandora was to hit the pause button. What is the trick?

When I try to go to google.com or use the google search bar on the main sceen it starts to load, and before it finishes its closes the browser. It happens every time, with no forse close screen. It didn't always do this since I updated to 2.1, it just started recently. Has anyone else had this happen or perhaps knows what causes this?
Anyone viewing ESPN for fantasy football? if so is it closing up on you on the scoreboard page? It's the page that refreshes itself for scores.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy device is a Galaxy Y, and has no official support from both the CM7 or the MIUi teams. There is CM7 build by a developer here on the XDA device thread, but it isn't completely stable due to lack of closed source drivers from Qualcomm.
Since MIUi is only available on MDPI and above devices, I have resorted to taking files from other ports for LDPI devices.
I was very successful in booting a release of MIUi I had made the previous day, but the browser kept encountering FC errors. There is already a port of MIUi available on my device forum, and that has the same problem too. I have taken a logcat, but I am completely lost as to why it keeps FCing.
Here is a segment of the logcat that is relevant to the issue at hand.

Now if I get on my browser (stock) and then close out when I am done and go to home or put the phone to sleep the little satellite dish looking icon in the status bar stays on. I think this is GPS. Anyway if I close all the windows I have running on my browser it doesn't matter because a new one always opens as my home page google. The only way to avoid the little icon staying on and severely draining my battery is to close all windows in the browser and hurry to push the home soft key before the google page completely loads. What can I do here?

I have factory reset, uninstalled everything, still the same. If I clear the cookies, cache, etc, and remove my homepage of google.co.uk, it seems fine. The T-Mobile default homepage works fine if I type a capital A. If I set Google.co.uk, and type a capital A, it force closes.
Hmm....and after a bit of digging....it only seems to do it on Google Mobile sites. Classic Google.com and .co.uk are fine. Google force loses, as does .com/m.
Anyone have the same issue, or know whats causing this?
I received a new N1 after I swapped over by warranty but I don't remember is the camera flash was working on this new one before I put Desire and Cyanogenmod and on both the camera flash doesn't work, installed FlashApp and a couple of other apps that manipulates the flash but it still doesn't turns on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a bit of frustration, I finally found a couple different methods to encode a DVD for successful viewing on the Droid. My first successful attempt involved using CloneDVDmobile using Playstation 3 AVC/H264 settings for screen size 720x480. I was able to view the video (full screen/aspect) using Act 1, Meridian and Video Player. A preferred method uses DVD Catalyst for conversion with resultant screen size of 848x480, and video quality at 900kbps. Viewed successfully on all 3 previously mentioned video players. I recommend both CloneDVDmobile and DVD Catalyst. However, DVD Catalyst gives the user significant control regarding the quality of the finished product.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've got a number of particular questions, and having read all the threads I can find, there's still a couple of things i am not 100% on. 1. Would any micro USB 1A charger be safe to use with the phone? It's just I'd like to have a spare charger to take with me when at work/away on business, and having found that just USB from the PC is far to slow, I wanted to make sure it was ok? 2. Is regularly (daily) overnight charging ok? It's just that i have read it's not great to leave it on charge once it's full. That seems problematic to me if a overnight charge = 7 hours charging, but the phone only needs 3 hours to charge at least 90%. 3. I seem to get about 20-22 minutes of heavy usage (Wi-Fi on, browsing / using apps) to 10% of the battery at the moment. The phone is only 1 week old though, am I likely to see an improvement, and if so what sort of one?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid Eris for a week now and have reserved any comments/complaints about it until now. While i have other issues with other parts of the phone (Battery Life, Mail App, etc), the Phone App is one i need to sort out first... Please let me know how you "get around" these isues or if there are actual settings to help me. The thing i find most annoying about the phone app is the following:
1. When hitting the call button or "Phone" touch button on the home screen you get the dial pad overlay on top of the call history..fine. But if you try to drag the dialer out of the way to see the rest of the history, and accidentally touch and not drag it, you get the "Smart Dialer Tip screen", to which you have to hit "Back Arrow" soft key to get rid of.. UGH! What ever happened to "Do not show me this tip Again" option? please make it stop.
2. When looking through my call history i can't see the times in which the tims were placed. WHAT!? I have to hit "Menu" and then hit "Call History" to get a separate Call History screen that has this information. Come on, that's not OK. The Call History screen from the Menu option is GREAT! That's EXACTLY what i want and exactly what's on every other cell phone i've used...Only better, cuz you can hit the icon next to the person to see a history of just that caller (again, same on BBerry). From THERE, you can see messages you've received from them, or view their contact card. Why can't THIS screen be the one that is under the dial pad.. SOOO much more useful.
3. Particularly annoying for me, when using Smart Dial and typing out a company name it does not show up. Often times i only remember the company name to the person i'm calling and not the particular representative for which i'm calling... for Example if i have a contact called "Name: Hugh Hefner - Company: Playboy". I want to call that guy at Playboy but can't remember his name, so i type in the company name..."Playboy", it does not show up. If i type in "Hugh Hefner", voila, but i didnt remember that so i had to go to People to start typing the company name to get this information... Not efficient. Again to compare to BB (only because this is the ideal setup) When typing in ANYTHING, it will attempt to find the text you're entering in any of the Contact NAME or COMPANY Name... THIS is how it should be. PLEASE FIX!
4. On the same token, whwen i've then placed a call to a company that does not have a persons name in the name field, the call history just shows a number. Not to mention, when the call is incoming, i do not see their company name on the incoming call screen. The only way i know that someone called that i KNOW is because the listing in the call history has a contact card and not "+" Sign. Bad.
So, when i start to type "Pizza Hut" i get nothin, have to go to People and click search and enter again, then i call, no answer. They call back but i dont know who it is cuz it doesnt come up. I go to look at my call history afterwards and the number is there, but i dont know who it is, until i hit the contact card...then i can click a few more buttons to call thenAnd i just wanted a damn pepperoni pie!
and 5. I would LOVE the option to switch the dialer from 123 to ABC so that it will begin to spell out the name you're entering (like BBerry). Right now, when using Smart Dial, and you're typing Pizza Hut. You get "7499...". Now, what if i misdialed the number/letter and i'm on the wrong path? How am i to know which letter i dialed incorrectly? All i see is a bunch of numbers. All I can do is hit the backspace key to the point at which my narrowed down Smart Dial list is beginning to return results. If I dialed PITZ (7489).. instead of the intended PIZZ..(7499), then i'm screwed and end up starting all over. (More accurately i panic and end up hitting the end key or clear and have to get back into the phone app again)....
Basically, we just need more options.Is there help on the way with Android 2.0/2.1?Is there settings that can help me for now?Is there a 3rd party Phone App that is better
I see the GPS icon light up when I'm using (or just quit using) the browser. I check the Spare Parts Battery History and the browser is the only app shown to have used the GPS. But in Browser Settings I have Enable Location unchecked and no special exception sites in Website Settings.
So as far as I can see I've told the browser not to use the GPS in every place possible yet it still does. Any ideas?
My Desire somehow isn't playing flash videos anymore, where it used to. Anybody know how to rectify this? If Flash 10.1 is a go, then its even better, however, I'll be happy with FlashLite working for now, rather than having it not work at all.
