My Desire somehow isn't playing flash videos anymore, where it used to. Anybody know how to rectify this? If Flash 10.1 is a go, then its even better, however, I'll be happy with FlashLite working for now, rather than having it not work at all.

Basically by "any browser" I mean all the big name browsers, including Firefox and Dolphin. On my old ROM they worked. Now the same (latest) versions don't. I'm on 4.2.2 (old ROM and new ROM) and I don't seem to have any Flash binaries installed, but I thought it was built into browsers now since Flash for Android is discontinued.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Flashed the LeeDrOiD v2.2b ROM and when accessing the Stock browser it will randomly crash, it's a strange crash because normally a crash will mean that you will exit from the browser and next time it will load to the homepage, on mine though it will sort of crash but then load the page I was on, even if it wasn't my homepage, if I had any tabs open I would also lose all of those, which is how I know it's crashing.
This isn't specific to this version of the ROM though as I've had this since v1.4, when I asked in the XDA forums they said it might be to do with re-installing my backed up data, basically I went from Android 2.1 to 2.2 when I Flashed the ROM and they said that backing up data when crossing over Android versions could cause problems.
What I have done this time though is not backup anything, no SMS, no system settings, nothing! I deleted everything off my SD Card, cleared the cache, then cleared the Dalvik cache, did a factory reset, Flashed the ROM and then Flashed the radio but still this problem exists, I haven't backed up anything this time, although when I logged into the Market with my Google account it synced my contacts back onto my phone, as they're linked to my Google account somehow.
This is really starting to annoy me now but I can't figure out for the life of me why it happens, I've tried replicating it to narrow down the cause but I can make it happen one time doing it a certain way but then doing it that way again it'll be fine.
Has anyone got any ideas of how I can overcome this problem or how to Flash the ROM so that my browser will work correctly, this browser problem is the only problem I have with the ROM, apart from that it is superb.
Any help very much appreciated!
EDIT: Also, the browser can crash whether I'm connected to a data plan/Wi-Fi or not!
Problem is, any page on the BBC News website containing a Flash movie crashes the stock browser . So, while this and this are OK. This, this and even the mobile help page crash the browser (links included for you to try ). No force close, the browser just vanishes and I get returns me to the phone home screen.
I've cleared the cache and cookies and even restarted the phone to no avail (and no, I'm not doing a hard reset ).
iPlayer pages are OK as is YouTube.
Is this a BBC problem? Is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Desire from Telus in Canada. In the last week or so I have noticed that my LED flash is no longer firing at all. Even when I set it the flash to be on. Is there a setting that I may have set that would disable it? Or is there a way to test if the led flash is still working? I would like to know, the Phone is only a month and a half old.

Obviously having hard time with people at the shop ("have you tried taking these pictures at night, maybe it understands that it is still daytime even if you tried it in bathroom"). My dumb brain would suggest that manual - flash always on (unless that 5% battery limit is not hit), automatic - depends on sensor income, off - no flash. Really hard to search for stuff like that in forums as usually "flash not working" refers to Adobe Flash.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I carried out check to see if any updates were available. Much to my excitement I noticed that 2.2 was there so I carried out the download. I now have WiFi hotspot, flashtorch, 720p camcorder and applications sharing available in my apps list. The problem stems when I go to view just in TV or BBC iplayer and I am told that my device does not support flashplayer. I have checked and adobe flashplayer is there when I go to manage applications. When I click on it takes me into it but all options to click on are shaded and I cant do nothing about it.

I was quite excited to have flash on my mobile devise and as I have an unlimited subscription to Lovefilm I was looking forward to watching the on demand movies for free. But I was disappointed when I was met by the message "does not support this type of flash". Is there an update or an app I can use? Lovefilm uses Flash Player 10.

I found this video on youtube and someone is having the same problem I'm having. Also whenever I plug the phone into the ac adapter to charge it, the memory card becomes unavailable as if the phone thinks I'm using usb to pc.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI just got the OTA 2.2 update and love the speed of Froyo...it REALLY is faster that 2.1. BUT its not fast enough to run flash properly on some pages. IGN.com is one site that its just to choppy to scroll around properly. I'd rather have speed and smoothness than flash and I don't see any options to disable flash.
Anyone know if it can be disabled and where is the option? And by disable it I mean give the static image....not the green arrow in the white box. The reason is because some pages do not render properly when flash is disabled. A HUGE white box covers a lot of the screen. One example is IGN.com.
Also on a side note, everything else to me was extremely fast on 2.1 and the reason why most people can't tell 2.2 is faster is because they are looking at the fast things in 2.1 and trying to decide if its faster...which you can't really do...you have to look at whats slow. Its like seeing a car fly by...was it going 90 or 100? Hard to tell....but I'm sure you can tell between a car going 20 or 60.
Below are a couple of things in 2.2 is definetely faster than 2.1 for me.
1. Scrolling through text messages is much smoother than 2.1
2. There was a slight 1 - 2 second delay in 2.1 when going to bookmarks (using the thumbnail option)...I guess to load up the images...it is now much quicker. Also, scrolling through the thumbnail bookmarks is a lot quicker.
Failblog.org is a daily visit for me. I have been enjoying the ability to play the videos on that site on my Evo until a few days ago. The video loads and it says it's starting to play then I get the big yellow triangle and clicking on it says "This content is not supported". It was supported. No more? What changed? Anyone else have this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMaybe its just me but with this RUU and full flash, the browser scrolls a lot slower. I was running skyraider before and noticed this after I installed the full flash apk. Removed full flash and scrolling sped up like before.
Anyone notice this?
I'm temped to revert back to either skyraider or flash lite. The browser lag is quite annoying. Anyone know how to disable full flash in the latest leak (cant uninstall it). I imagine i could just rename something. Any tips?
As of ics when you move browser in the background, that is switch from browser to another app, the flash content on the web page gets paused, like the waiting seconds countdown on a file sharing website, it simply means you can't multitask, So is there a app that can prevent the browser from being dead in the background, or a floating browser will do the trick

I just installed Dolphin HD browser but for some reason it's not loading any flash content on any site. Anyone have any ideas why not? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting as well. I'm out of ideas. The stock browser still works though. I'm on FRF91, non-rooted.

Puffin: support choosing objects but it's so laggy
Flashfox: connection untrusted and can't add exception!
When using stock browser, it closes automatically when going to a full site or one with flash. When going to the same site with dolphin, it opens but there is a green download box. Maybe I need to uninstall flash beta.
