just got evo after looking for a while. very happy and i think i get most of it. i noticed that when i open the browser and do some surfing and then close it. when i click on the icon to reopen the same page comes up. the same thing happens witth facebook. any ideas? how do i close the browser and have it reopen on the home page i have set.

I currently have an app that I'm developing launching the web browser, running a page on my site that is reading a cookie/editing a database, and then Redirecting to "myapp://X/Y". This is all working as advertised. Is it possible to close the browser after I've navigated back to my app via the redirect? Perhaps a flag to set when starting the Intent that forces the browser to close or, at the very least, be removed from the stack so it's not visible when a user quits my application?

For the past few days, when I try to open a browser, it closes. I was using Dolphin HD, thought it was a bug with that app, so downloaded regular Dolphin. Same deal, so tried Skyfox then Opera and the stock browser. They all keep closing.
Is there anything I can do or should I just call it quits and get the Incredible?
I can't figure this out. The only way I could stop the radio on Pandora was to hit the pause button. What is the trick?

When I try to go to google.com or use the google search bar on the main sceen it starts to load, and before it finishes its closes the browser. It happens every time, with no forse close screen. It didn't always do this since I updated to 2.1, it just started recently. Has anyone else had this happen or perhaps knows what causes this?
I would like to know whats some free ringer apps? browser apps? fb apps? music apps? and theme apps?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Froyo and I installed the flash beta, and flash sites work but my browser will close itself within about 30 seconds. I uninstalled flash and I had no more problems, and then I tried installing it again and the problems came back.
Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, are there any solutions to this besides uninstalling flash?
My device is a Galaxy Y, and has no official support from both the CM7 or the MIUi teams. There is CM7 build by a developer here on the XDA device thread, but it isn't completely stable due to lack of closed source drivers from Qualcomm.
Since MIUi is only available on MDPI and above devices, I have resorted to taking files from other ports for LDPI devices.
I was very successful in booting a release of MIUi I had made the previous day, but the browser kept encountering FC errors. There is already a port of MIUi available on my device forum, and that has the same problem too. I have taken a logcat, but I am completely lost as to why it keeps FCing.
Here is a segment of the logcat that is relevant to the issue at hand.

I just had the weirdest thing happen. As I was saving a bookmark all of my bookmarks disappeared! Then when I try to go to my bookmark' list from the web browser, it force closes. Obviously its some bug. How can I debug it?

Now if I get on my browser (stock) and then close out when I am done and go to home or put the phone to sleep the little satellite dish looking icon in the status bar stays on. I think this is GPS. Anyway if I close all the windows I have running on my browser it doesn't matter because a new one always opens as my home page google. The only way to avoid the little icon staying on and severely draining my battery is to close all windows in the browser and hurry to push the home soft key before the google page completely loads. What can I do here?

I have factory reset, uninstalled everything, still the same. If I clear the cookies, cache, etc, and remove my homepage of google.co.uk, it seems fine. The T-Mobile default homepage works fine if I type a capital A. If I set Google.co.uk, and type a capital A, it force closes.
Hmm....and after a bit of digging....it only seems to do it on Google Mobile sites. Classic Google.com and .co.uk are fine. Google force loses, as does .com/m.
Anyone have the same issue, or know whats causing this?
I enabled debug mode in the native browser to change the UA String. I typed in "about:debug" in the address bar. I then went into settings and changed the UAString to 'Desktop.' Now, every time I open the browser = force close. Yes, I tried rebooting. What are my options?

Google Maps and internet were using the battery eventhough I wasn't using them. I tapped on Google Maps and Internet and got an option to close the app so I did. But the apps didn't close.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have read a number of the posts on this board and tried to condition my new phone for best battery life, etc. and haven't added many apps yet. However a few of them keep crashing ALL the time and it's really annoying. Particularly Google Talk and Gmail, the native apps that I didn't install. I will open them up, press one button (on an email or a name) and then it will just close back to the home screen. It will do this five or six times in a row before it lets me use the app. I have been using task panel but have both apps on the "ignore" list so I don't think that should make a difference, and come to think of it it did that before I installed task panel. The phone is literally three days old.

I open maps again and sometimes i get to type more or less than the previous try. i didnt mind it as i didnt use maps all that much but now i use this more and still has this issue. I just got it for the first time today trying to post on facebook status as well. Im running CM 6.0.0 FRG22D. BUT i have had this problem since i got the phone even when it was fully stock, this has been an issue with every ROM ive used ..BB's, Fabs, CM, UD.. does anyone have this problem or seen it before ? i found one case in another forum but it was never solved.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am use CSipSimple for my VoIP calling and unfortunately, every time I do a Memory Clear (under the RAM tab), it kills nearly all of my programs including CSipSimple. I know that 2 apps that this action definitely doesn't close is my AVAST! mobile security and my Ultimate Rotation Control. I'd like to be able to make CSipSimple be immune to such "clears" as those two apps but I do not know how to go about it.
At the moment, I always have to reopen it after I clear and sometimes it takes a bit for it to reconnect.
I've had my htc incredible for a few days and I absolutely love it. However, I am less than pleased with the battery life. I run a good amount of apps and widgets and am sure this is causing the life to drain. I downloaded ATK in order to close apps when not in use, but I've noticed a strange occurrence. It seems that w/i 10 minutes of closing unneeded apps a bunch of programs that I have not been using open up. Is there any explanation for this? Also, is there a way to immediately close an app when I'm done using it rather than having to find the ATK widget?
