View 42 RepliesIs it wrong to assume that once the HTC Incredible is available it won't be long til a stable version of Sense 2.1 is ready? I remember reading that an alpha build for Sense was made but I haven't heard of any updates since.

This would make my phone almost perfect anyone can help me? I would gladly pay $20 for such a thing.
I heard you could get the htc sense ui on the droid, is this true? And if so, can u post a link where I can learn how to put it on my droid? Oh and one more thing, is the htc sense ui called a rom when u put in on a non htc device?

View 36 Replies View Relatedwas looking at some pics of the sense screens and was wondering if there is anything like that aval for the droid. i know ahome does not support the droid so what is a customizer to do.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI know i may be jumping the gun and it kinda has been done but since the incredible will be a CDMA phone, do you guys think that the Sense UI will work better with the Droid? I know on the Sense UI port from the Desire the problem was the radio was not matching up correctly.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter enjoying a good Sunday meal, I saw this posting on AndroidCentral.com. They show a Moto Droid running a rom from the HTC Desire. Sense UI has been ported to the Moto Droid. I know some people could care less. But for me, I graduated to the Moto Droid from the HTC Eris and I really like Sense UI. So for those that took the same route as me to the Moto Droid or is you like Sense UI, this link is for you.

I got a sprint HTC Hero but am very disappointed by it's speed (And I run only two widgets - bookmarks and weather!) - when I press the menu button the phone can take up to 3 seconds for the pulldown login screen to show up - super annoying. I'm loving Droid for the tech specs...but I love the sense UI is it possible to put the sense UI on the droid in theory? I have a few more days to return the hero and might if I could get this to work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just flashed to 2.2 and am loving it so far, but i forgot that I was using the sense keyboard which I have come to love as well. Before I install it I figured I would ask if it would work on 2.2?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI remember reading about a port from the HTC espresso i believe, but I have not been able to find anything specific.. i have smoked glass 5.0.1 right now which looks awesome but i wouldn't mind replacing it with the sense UI overhaul..
View 17 Replies View Relateddoes anyone know if i can get the sense time widget on my droid x. is there a look alike somewhere?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI read that someone was looking to obtain the HTC Sense unlock screen. This can be had through widgetlocker lockscreen. hope this helps at least 1 person.
View 12 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to use that rom on a droid?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo human cyborg has set things going again. Check his twitter page for a 2.1 sense that boots on droid -- messing with it now. Main (logcat) issues seems to be some misfit images (fairly simple), to checking for EVDO instead of CDMA, which may be anything from a simple look at a Eris rom to something more.
Feel free to check it out if you want a peak of what sense 2.1 looks like. Not a day to day rom but those of you who are bored/like to tinker.
All the videos i have watched of comparisons and what not, i have loved what i have seen from Sense UI. Even though its still the first day the X's UI seems bland to me. So is there any downloads that might help ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been testing the Moto Droid and the Droid Eris and there are some pretty big shortcomings on both IMO. The Exchange support on the Eris is working much better for me than the built in 2.0 App on the Moto Droid. Does anyone know what App HTC is using for this and if there is any way to get it on the Moto Droid? I also like the mail widget that HTC has supplied. If it wasn't for the pitiful battery life one the Eris I would just stick with it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo there have been a couple posts about must have apps but what about widgets? Are there any fancy widgets available like the ones found on the Sense UI?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to do this as a manual update, update.zip it and install it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I get this to add a clock like the HTC sense one? I see it in the example in market and it says you can but I dont see it under widgets after I download it and restart my phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is more a question for those who have experience with rooted phones. For me, the biggest feature of Sense UI is how smooth it is in terms of transitions between screens, scrolling within things such as the Apps menu, etc. (couldn't really care less about the social networking integration).
Now, there are some homescreen apps out right now that are definitely (in my opinion) better in these regards than the standard Android UI, but they all still fall short of what Sense (or Rachael or even MotoBlur) has achieved.
Is this same smoothness, though, something that can be achieved if/when (since it really is just a matter of time) people figure out how to root the Droid and make custom ROMs?
This is my first post on this forum. I am on the fence about getting the HTC Droid Incredible and the Droid X. It would be a lot more palatable if I there was an HTC Sense rom I could flash onto the Droid X. Is there anything of this sort in development or around?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo please please forgive me if this has been asked, or is in conjunction with another thread, but I have a question for you all. Maybe you guys can help. So I know the sense Roms for the droid are around the corner (hopefully), but im not completely sure of what is included in it.
My only desire from the sense ROM would be the bookmark widget that is found on sense phones. Looks like the pic below. I was wondering if there might be apk out there that could be ported over with the fixed resolution for our phone. Or is my phone waiting for the sense ROM. Sorry I'm kinda obsessed with that widget, but not worth it to trade my droid for just that.
Would it be possible to load the Sony Rachael Rom on a Droid once root access is available? What about the sense UI once the Android 2.0 version is available. Since the G1 can run the sense, I would guess the latter would be possible.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI own an Motorola XT316 device, and i can't find an Custom ROM, so i was thinking to port one from Galaxy 5 (i5550) or LG Optimus me (same hardware, same screen, maybe same camera).
The problem is how to do it, because theres some differences between them like the camera. The XT316 has an locked bootloader, this can screw everything?
I'd like to port my iPhone app to Android. The interface is constructed with artwork designed for 320x480 resolution. What steps do I need to take when I'm constructing the XML interface for the Android so that my GUI will be compatible with the different screen sizes (or at least the most popular ones...)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it worth buying BK over using the API from Sense UI? As a side note, can anyone direct me on how to get the API and install it? I am a relative newbie to Android.
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow to structure a very simple (but computationally intensive) app which has the following general characteristics (no details needed). The app has some data (say 2MB) statically stored. When the app starts this data is preprocessed and a large structure of about 40Mb is created.
After the initialization, the app has one text field for input, one for output and a button (for start/stop).The user enters a query then press the start button. The app computes a result using the large array. If the calculation on the input takes too long, the user can stop the processing with the stop button and start again with a new input.
When I was doing this under windows/linux with C/C++, I had no problems: I used a large global array and two threads, one to draw interface and respond to user (mouse, clicks, etc.) and one to perform the computation.Which is the standard (best) way to structure this kind of app in Java/ Android ?
Should I use an Activity for the graphic interface and a Service for the computation ? Can I build the large array in the Activity when the app starts and pass a reference to it to the Service every time Start button is pushed ?
I just need to be pointed in the right direction, to avoid some blind alleys. In a sense using c/c++ would be better, but I read that developing in Java (for Android) is much easier so I will try first with Java and revert to C only if the app will turn out to be too slow.
