HTC Desire :: Any Cool Widgets Available Aside From Stock Widgets?
Jun 7, 2010I'm looking for widgets that could occupy my last screen.I have already used HTc stock widgets that I like, plus Astrid tasks widget and extended controls 1x4 widget.hopefully something functional, cool and/or interactive widgets that are 1x4, 2x4, 4x4 or any large one.

Aug 18, 2010Let me start by listing the ones that would be useless to me:
I don't get the point of weather widgets. I don't need to know the exact temperature every time I look at my phone. I just check the weather app once in the morning and I'm good for the day. The weather doesn't change that often people!
I don't need a clock widget. The time is always displayed at the top anyway, and on my phone's lock screen too along with the date. I don't use any alarm clocks. I don't use the calendar for anything. My days are all the same. I don't follow any sports. I got rid of the search widget that was running on my phone since there's a dedicated search button on the phone.
I do enjoy following politics and technology news (I'm a computer programmer). Right now there's a single widget running on my phone called "Battery Indicator" because I like to know the exact percentage of power remaining rather than an graphic approximation. So, any widget recommendations for me? Any cool widgets you enjoy that you think I might wanna try?
Android :: Cool But Useless Home Screen Trick - Overlap Widgets
Jun 20, 2010I haven't confirmed if this trick can be achieved on the default or other home launchers, but just now, I was able to overlap widgets together. Could be a bug with LauncherPro. I can actually press in between the top layer of widgets to access the underlying Facebook widget.

May 14, 2010Well, I just got my OTA update, and now there is only one Sense Widget available on my phone. There are a handful more available via the market, but none of the ones that I had previously used. Has anyone else seen this happen?
It's more than a little frustrating as my customized home screen was pretty heavy on the HTC widgets.

Jul 16, 2010Can anyone make/find and resize a cool looking DX wallpaper for this? By that I am talking about D-generation X from WWF. I love the Default Wallpaper and the Live Droid one but I think that is killing my batter and D-generation X is a cool logo..Maybe even change the colors from Green to Red..let me know post your cool wallpapers! Oct 5, 2010I really like Sense but I really want to try out the transparent widget mods for launcherpro plus (which I already bought). Is there any way to get the launcherpro widgets in sense? I know the opposite can't be done, but I figure since I paid for the extra widgets, it would be cool if I could use them outside of the launcher. And I know, launcher pro is awesome...I have beautiful widgets and I know that is almost the same but the weather animations are a pain because they come up on any screen and in my apps and I have to tap to clear them and then I can scroll. With sense I just unlock and scroll and I like that alot better right now.

Sep 20, 2010I am wondering what actually happens with all the apps and widgets that come with Sense UI. I assume none of them will work anymore once the Desire is rooted? Or will they stay and still be useable? Can you download them somewhere again from HTC for example and install on a rooted device?
I heard of custom Roms that will let you root the device and still use some HTC apps. Is that correct or is there no such thing?
Finally, a question that might be a bit of speculation currently. With HTC introducing the new www.htcsense.com website with features such as SMS backup for life, contact editing, app shop, etc.... some of the stuff like the SMS backup sound very interesting but now I am wondering if these features will be available for rooted devices. Anybody has any ideas about that?
Would be kind of unfair if rooted devices could not use this HTC service.
HTC EVO 4G :: Want Stock Sense Widgets With New Home Launcher?
Jul 5, 2010I just installed Launcher Pro Beta, and am trying to "flavor" up my EVO. I really used the stock sense widgets that toggled 4g, wifi, BT, etc, but am unable to find them with the new home launcher. Am i unable to use the previously installed default widgets with this launcher/home? How about the default weather/clock combo, i can't seem to find a way to add it either. I liked the simple look of the Launcher Pro icons along the bottom, that's all i really wanted changed.
EDIT - Found it, will need Beautiful Widgets or something similar

Jun 22, 2010I am a huge fan of the Fresh builds by Flipz over at Geek For Me - Sprint Evo 4g & CDMA Hero. I have a proposal for a new build (once able, of course) and wanted your guys opinions. I think most of us agree the best part of HTC's 'sense' is the widgets. HTC designed the Sense UI back in Android 1.5 days and it's a bit dated. The Froyo version of the Picture Gallery, Music Player, Dialer, App Drawer and Lock Screen are far superior to the Sense iterations. I think this would be the best build on the EVO: I'm talkin' the actual Froyo build here, not something that 'looks like' Froyo, not the HTC build with Sense disabled (still keeps the HTC Music, Gallery, Dialer, Lock screen etc.). I'm talkin' the full whammy, 'extra pickles' awesomeness. Code...

Aug 10, 2010I love my droid x but coming from an incredible Im a die hard T9 texter. I have tried better keyboard and everything else and handcent but they all dont have great T9 keyboards. I heard I can get the APK with the sense UI T9 keyboard on my X.

Motorola : Possible To Put Sense UI On Droid In Theory?
Oct 29, 2009I got a sprint HTC Hero but am very disappointed by it's speed (And I run only two widgets - bookmarks and weather!) - when I press the menu button the phone can take up to 3 seconds for the pulldown login screen to show up - super annoying. I'm loving Droid for the tech specs...but I love the sense UI is it possible to put the sense UI on the droid in theory? I have a few more days to return the hero and might if I could get this to work.
